Hi Arm Cherries, it's Miniature Mouse here. I just wanted to add a little disclaimer to this episode. If you haven't heard, SAG-AFTRA has joined the strike. So it's a double strike now with the WGA and it is important to say that we recorded this episode before SAG went on strike. So when we're talking about projects and everything we talk about, please note that we have since striked and some things have changed. But wanted to make that clear, now let's on with the show. Welcome, welcome, welcome to Arm Cher Expert. I'm Dan Shepard, I'm joined by Lily Padman.
What's the matter, Lily? Was there a Padman on your countertop? There was a buggy! A bug in my tea.
Your Mary Kate and Ashley mug? Yes. Aye yi yi, unacceptable. A bug in my mug.
A bug in your mug. Spinoff show of nothing to see here. You don't listen to fact check, you know who that is. Anywho, an old friend--
Mine is here today. Terry Crews. You of course know Terry Crews. He doesn't know Terry Crews. He's an actor, a television host, and a former football player. He has written a book, which is beautiful, called Tough, My Journey to Truth.
Power. He's also on season 18 of America's Got Talent and
He has a new entertainment company called Super Serious that's not terribly serious. Of course, I met him and fell in love with him during Idiocracy, and I'm sure you did too. Also Brooklyn Nine-Nine, White Chicks, and Everybody Hates Chris. Terry Crews was a blabber.
This was so much fun. It really was. And noted again, recorded before the strike.
I don't even know if the strike is still going on as of today or not, but this was recorded before the strike.
Yeah, and luckily, I don't know that he was actually promoting anything but just telling a story. He has an impeccable story. I really fell in love with him, loved this interview.
So vulnerable, really, really vulnerable. There is something lovely about the mixed messages of a man that could have stood up and tore either of us in half physically, but instead decided to be vulnerable and loving and caring. And a sweetheart. Yeah, such a sweetheart. I fucking love Terry Crews.

*Outro Music* Oh my god, it's good to see you. I know man, this is awesome.
People see you when they're around you, they're happy. And I'm included in that group. Grateful. Listen, we're from Michigan! Michiganders!
- Look at us. - It's so much deeper than that though. - But look at us out here. - Not only were we both in Michigan, all the same shit was happening in childhood in Michigan. - I know, I know.
Oh wow, you right, dude. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And what's great is you don't know my story, I don't know yours. We've been friends now. I'd say we're friends. I mean, certainly when I see you, my heart explodes, right? Come on, man. We're always all over each other. We made history. We did. Yeah, you sure did. You predicted history. Yeah. That's right. Two of the dumbest members of Idiocracy are sitting down to chat today. I love, love, love what Mike Judge did with that.
And people don't know, you know, I auditioned for that thing like 20 times. Oh, really? I auditioned so much. I just thought this is a game.
- Somebody's just laughing at me. - Yeah, like maybe they're going for a record. - You know what I mean? Like they were like, How many times is he gonna keep coming in? And I just said, You know what? I don't care. I'm just gonna keep doing it. I'll never forget Mary Vernu. She said, If you knew the people that were auditioning for this, the studio, they were wanting us to push the other people, but everyone just keeps coming back to you.
That's the reason. Did you ever get any of those names? Cause I've had this weird experience where I too had to beg to audition for that. I had done a couple episodes.
King of the hill, mildly friendly with Mike, like had lunch with him once, and then said, I really wanna audition for this Frito role. And he said, no, you're not Frito. And I was like, I have a character I used to do at the Groundlings, like I think it might work. So I think it's kinda interesting that we both really fought. I remember he stabbed himself, he was a heroin addict.
Hilarious comedian. I can't believe I can't think of his name. But he was going on every day on the radio talking about he had an audition for this movie and he heard they were gonna go with this guy, Dax Shepard, who the fuck is that?
Talking shit and... Oh no! Yeah, like over the years they found out some different people that read, but you never found out who else was in the mix? No.
This studio is just like, we need names. Yep. I had done White Chicks, but it hadn't come out yet.
