Seventeen July on the headquarters of resolutions and broadcasting dollar palm oil studio smoothed the day rather show where America hangs out ever conversation about my money. Like your career Coleman, Ramsay personalities joined by another one of my good friend. then you o- and we are here together for you- the shower on the day, Ravisher Triple eight to five five, two to five triple eight eight to five five too,
five. That's the number to Japan on the conversation we'd love to have you join us add here we go, go to Potomac Maryland. First, where Samuel Joys of Samuel. How can we help. I had a great pleasure to talk to you. I should try call your show earlier, but then I got ya, but then I think that's a good thing because now get your talk to you and, how do you get double the advice? So how can we help? there was the embryo how be as clear and concise as possible. I just graduated from large and the spring twenty twice the master and I'd still believe my greatest years are ahead of me, but what that being said, I did graduate into a world recession. Economies do terrible. There aren't a lot of jobs out there. It's really hard for young people,
get a job but yeah, I'm too, and my basic question is what should I doing? What should I be doing next cause during this time? I decided anathema. still, nothing like I have to do something to get blacks job. After my degree, I meant to get to certifications, to certification, the ituri factually. Curiously, because I realized cyber security, information technology, that's what I'm really passionate about, and I believe it's a great deal so yeah, I'm going crazy, I'm late in I'm study for my next year too. Big you like that, and I'm talking to people in the field that isn't good advice, but then from a job perspective and then later at the bed far financial perspective. Mind just my question is what should I also doesn't look like be doing to be more productive tonight. we still have time to make the best of a terrible situation. It gets cold in ninety sure. Well, I first of all, I think, you're doing plenty,
I don't think there's any more than I would add from when I can give you some great financial advice and he's going to be really briefly because I think you ve got to have a mindset change, because I think that yes, there, there is obviously a pandemic and there's obviously been an artificial shut down the economy. However, nationally we're at seven point three percent unemployment, I believe, is the latest unemployment numbers. Now there art there. Is there different economies, different states just to be very in a frank with you of the tennis, the economy doing quite well unemployment, the stated Tennessee very very low, much lower than the national average. I dont know Maryland is like I don't know if it's a pretty prevail, locked down and shut down, and if that is in fact the case, that is an artificial lid for you that is making maybe work hard to find, but young guy who just graduated college and you ve got those vacations I would tell
that I would go beyond linked in, I think linked in is a wonderful resource I like to sail again com and show that it is a great source of information, but it not the greatest opportunity for connection now. What I mean by that is you use the information awful linked in to actually make phone calls actually go. Who do I know that knows this person on Dead- and let me see if I can do assume with a more coffee and if that's not kosher and and if that's not cool and nobody's doing that- that's fine, understand it, but you could still connections, even in time of social distancing- and I think what you got focusing on again mindset is you ve got a very, very very nice ladder ahead of you. You are, five. You are getting even more qualifications, I'd keep getting those certifications, but I would get away for the traditional areas, goose It resumes cold and go on did you ve gotta, be using the proximity principle which says in order to do at Sammy wants to do? Is gonna be around people that are doing that and places where that is happening. So you're trying
make as many connections as possible conversations. Risa, hey how'd, you get where you are of openings in your area and you're, finding people that no people in companies that are hiring an idea, and I can tell you cause. I talk about this daily on the can com show that cyber security is one of the fastest growing fields in the union. dates for sure and certainly around the world, and so That's a wonderful place to be in end you need to work really hard on the proximity principle, and I wrote a book specifically for this so he's you gonna, give you whatever version you want a book audio or hard copy in just a few. elements but a. What does he need to be doing from a financial standpoint? I think for financial standpoint I can tell you is already doing the right thing, Samuel and so a semi. What, where are you financially in order to have a say? The count like where are you from a financial perspective, so I just
watching on your show their Ramsay and Palm in order in this year of twenty twenty and it really during that time, equality You start trying to watch reproductive. I started they Bradley show on somewhat familiar with the baby steps, but not too familiar, but the Good NEWS is that, from I went for miles student twenty thousand dollars, I oh now less a little less than a little less than fifty thousand dollars on that. None of the just consider the fact that I just graduated. I think the little bit of progress right now to see. How much are you making a year right now? Semi? Well, I just graduated, I'm still unemployed,
five thousand dollars. You spoke of my family who just they manage to help needed to get everything. So instead of you know buying stuff, but I don't need. I decided that this attack that stood alone as fast as possible. I am like David type it with a vengeance right side of a type it ass, much ass. I could just to get rid of that, and I only that attacked my car right after because that's next night after this student law on my computer and then I The earlier thanks, camphor Lloyd, you give me a book because I think I'm trying to much less play less gains. Once I can learn more. I think day says was Samuel, Zimmer, Samuel, listen! I want to shirk its aims. Gonna drop something funny, but I just heard something I was assuming incorrectly. You were at least working some part time jobs that I appreciate you listen there. our jobs in Potomac Maryland that you, if you can drive you, can get it
yes and you need to be doing to at least to part time jobs, if not three stage, while you're doing all of that connecting in using the book the proximity principle, because you can making even more ground on that debt. A guy and NASA sent out. I want to say to their home, I'm now. Ok, can I fix this bright: get a job Can you use like you have the right mentality button, thing- is first to practical step, get a job draw for goober Ease jaw for door dash dry for over, get out there and get a job now is not going to be your dream job. That's not why you went to school, which is why the two, while your I've been and and people off in doing jobs, you're reading Kinkel Miss dear you're you're, How can I stop this into today? Ramps everyday get onto can call Michel, because, right now you needed jobs that you can listen to today rapidly, so to get out again. Okay, so that's what I read me, get a job. Kids
evolve into two came home and show information. You can get a solid career, it didn't come back and how they may Dave will help you get out again, absolute good stuff. There all right come on up more. Calls more clarity, so that you confidently step forward on the path You know you need to be on top of. This is the David.
Yes folks, mortgage rates are really low and, while that's great news watch out for mortgage lenders with a slick bitch claiming they have the lowest rates, those deals often come with bad advice and hidden fees. Instead, I want you to call Churchill mortgage to buy a new home or refinance because they think, like I do, call today triple a loan. Two hundred or Churchill mortgage dot com. This is a paid advertisements, animal s idea, one five, nine one: animal s: consumer access, dot, Org, equal housing, lender seventeen, forty nine Mallory Lane, Sweet one hundred brilliance and see three seven zero to seven year. Legislate that play for a moment. Let people enjoy. Second, you never see day rams you're on your own. There is way too much shoulder shaken,
do a little. Those Kelly was given me. This move here, Lord elegantly say always so embarrassed right now so, and they are the three com when kids would be. I may tell you know how bears my kids of beasts waiting to roll back? I may tube tonight for them Chemical, Chemical Milwaukee, but this is the day. Raves issue have a little bit of fun, Elsa good. I was very nice and don't ya come on. We all we need to move a little bit, but I did Breakthrough LEO you know from the movie hitch were, will Psmith tells Heaven James Character to keep it right here. He really is. One of the great lies from hit is like to stay right here. In this area- and I got outside of that and and and really rightfully called- I apologize for, humiliate how we will get beyond it. Anthonio can come in here this hour on the day ravisher, taking your calls and having a lot of fun, I might add,
Here we go and forty you to worry us. As you know the EU to designate an easy, we display the Michael Jackson Museum arise it s. What can come in South America, you say oh say, see he so relevant ally. What is he target amassing every bit as Yahoo? Thank you. You failed me young man. I tried to everybody callers like that the UK has no idea what you turn around zero. The radio audience and I were enjoying little, but a thriller echo was not ruined for yeah makers. Enigma! Michael Jackson, S Gaslight, Michael Jackson, I have it. I broke my own rule. I was not operating into my streaks gaps, so let us try to monitor the courier guys here today, but it's a very good stay in your line is what is telling me all right, triple eight, eight to five five, two to five triple eight eight to five two to five, let's go to Milwaukee Wisconsin at Anthony's wish I shall granite. Sarah is on the line there, Sarah. How can we help,
hey guys, won't further museum thrilled to be talking to you oh that's nice words really talk to you thriller. I see what you down there. How can I see what you do? I did very well done what my question my husband and I are baby subside. Fifty seven recently I got a bonus work. I want a pirate treat mortgage. Is it better to apply it to the principal one? Want some Human or the kind of giving it up over the quarter It is, however, much overly I'm on by giving it up promises to bonus. Sixty three hundred ccs this plan I went on not just go and you say how you can either called the payment over the phone or go just tell me one to oppress a payment, thing is to make sure that you tell them exactly what you want to do, because, sometimes, even over
I gave you listening. You know if you pay over there, either push tat towards an ex payment or sometimes or add that money into your s, squirrel It- was a very bottom. So Vienna attack your principle going hand just make one lump sum payments s by the ghost I think I'd pay their graduations thanks for the call triple eight eight to five five, two to five, go to Flagstaff Arizona. Next Samantha is there Samantha? How can we help? I am. Waiting I've got so, but through for the record, I get free, you, I've Springs masters, tuition and the bank. My question is, I am darting job search for after I graduated. I don't no, where I want to be so, I'm doing trying to do a nationwide job search, and I want to know how
you do that successfully, because right now I've been doing is just then they get cold breath of yours Wilson. Doing that, because that essentially like playing the lottery? You know it specially in today's world, where we ve got higher unemployed than we did in February, where we had record low unemployment and an end oh, you know, with the onslaught of the way that come he's handle reservations. You know Samantha, that digital submission just about for everybody, and they're. Just getting all these reservations, we know from research that hiring managers are spending about seven point three seconds or less looking at a resume. So there's no reason to play that game cause it's it's a machine. It won't work. I'm just saying you truly playing the lottery. Question really is what do you really to do and an you may not know the exact step, but what's that long term goal? What do you think is that mountain top for you
I am metering and Environmental sciences and emphasising can so that it can be a form of very nice. So here's a good news, yours preclude. She knows a oh she's in stage one of my seven stages stage, one is get clear and we really and stage too three right now: you're getting qualified out from the school standpoint into that entry level option at least, and then SNL stage three would get connected, which is using the proximity principle, and so what you will we doing is while you're still in school, you ve career services at your university. You professors- and you got some short connections to that industry, and you want to leverage this opportunity as a student right now to to we look at some internships right, college and whether their paid or not, I would still do it because you, spent is a really low if you had to work to jobs plus an internship, just kind of baby for that, I think that's a sacrifice worth making. If that's even something you would have to do, but you just want
be able to get in any way who can and in an internship right of school might a great option. You may not even have to do that, though and so, when I talk about the proximity programmes aimed the people at her in that world, ok, environmental science is less use, call it. Let us keep it really broad for this discussion. You wanna be doing is saying. If I'm looking nationwide, I can't I'll get intimidated by What we have to say is in oil to in to be a soil scientist. What is the particular ass, to what would be entry level and then what would be less say two or three wrongs up the ladder from there and so on. You look at the dream job. As a top of the mountain, you, ok, let me back my way down the mountain. What does it look like to get there and their multiple ways up a mountain by the way you know Samantha, so thank you determine what's a good entry level position for me, and I start looking for that vat
Looking for that nationwide is a lot easier to search for and then, as you begin to ok, this a good inter level jobs. So is this: now: what I'm gonna do is see what but these are offering positions in those areas. I'd even look a potentially getting connected with a recruiter in that particular feel khazar specialist recruiters in that field as well. That makes sense yes to you, you're a boil down by companies that are actually hiring global positions in your field and then you attack- ok, but listen! I'm gonna give you a book that I wrote just for you, you know where you want to go, and the question is: can how do I get there and I don't have time to unpack the five people in the five places that are right about in the book. The proximity principle too. Born, bestseller still selling its extra we practical, hang on the line Kelly's gonna. Give you what a reversion of that you want the evil of the audio book or the heart which, by the way, Anthony people can get all three format of that book
one low price again comin twenty five, but twenty five, three books for one price per you have at that. A bad deal. You love your people. Could they can do tat Mamma? I know well, I'm trying to help people get hired. So I gotta, given these crazy discounts, but ass, good, ass situate. So what happens there? And you talked a lot of young people when they the when they look at the top of the mountain it can be very intimidating and and you want to look at the top of the mountain Canada, where I want to end up right, but nobody goes out just start Climate Mt Everest. Now they have to get the base camp after ten months of training may ten years of training, physical training, mental training, motor all things and then you in an illegal. The mountain me what you're doing you just pretty much given in baby steps to those your seven baby substantiate into your dream. Culture only focused number one when you get there and be ready for number two, when you get there only only focus on number two, when you get there, you and then focus on three and so
something that I use with the moral philosophy. My end goal is, is very, very big, but right now, I'm only focusing on the season on man right now and I'm killing it, I'm studying it, I'm getting better. So that way, when I'm ready for the next phase? I can be what huh
Sid, determine a ready that your attack, you didn't just become a youth pastor overnight. You not just become a speaker, and writer of it then joined our team their years and years of steps in preparation and hustle, and this young lady is gonna, get them, but it again folks amount is not so scared. How can we help Guy tat, you Don T have an a blast what's goin on item, so I have all the senior Highschool Unequally Youth Partnership Programme for machining, a trade and question is the next step. Should he sign up with the company and get through your partnership and be stuck with the company for three years or should cash flow? His own the programme what s really interesting, and I wonder why you say- and I am not being if a seizure sarcastic, our true know why you say if he takes an apprenticeship that he stuck with a company for three years, what chemicals we most places bill,
The plan should programme, but you have to sign on I'm sorry. I understand I understand outworks, I'm saying why do you perceive that is being stuck there. As opposed to use a young man. How old is your son, Renault eighty ease? Eighteen means by the time you twenty one or twenty, two he's already got three years of incur will experience any wildly qualified as apply to play the other option for me. So if he cash flows is our apprenticeship was just simply means he takes care of his basically expenses while he works for free. That's what you mean by that? What are you what's the path if he does that? How is that any different? Well you'd? He would pay for his own partnership programme getting three now I understand, but my point is that he comes out on the other side of that Wales, where that's true and go anywhere. I like free method, man now we are not concerned with him.
go it s almost like, for example, the army will send you to school or military was off you school and you have to go serve the great states of United States of America for four years? That's not it colleagues stuck. I will call that grateful Someone paid my way, I'm a go. I'm going there and serving for those three years unless stuck a masterly learning. More then, after that, transferring go somewhere else. Would they experience free education caused me yeah manner, yeah that's what your hearing from us Josh's I just counted as he stuck. I think one option may better than the other. I think that's up for you to decide. So what play in the shout. But my question is how much. Would it cost him your son to pay for it ship on his own, the check is one in the boat. I think for you so much
I think, for eight hundred how many about how many a semesters typical you to your programme So what's his total, I'm just asking you Gimme ballpark. What's his total number, twenty grand yeah that was at writing? Ok, then, why does he have what kind of cash is? He have knows that he? What kind of cash to you know he's gonna, make a sun pay for it, which I love? No, no, no, no yeah. No, he he's he would be passionately, he'd, be work, He currently is only in the Youth Partnership Programme and he How much does he have Josh? Oh, can grin ok, yeah yeah, I just I don't. I don't think he needs to do that I think at the age of eighteen to get into an apprenticeship and then work for a company getting a feel for three years and know that he is, God,
guaranteed start I just like that play better, but I'm not going to tell you that the other place wrong. I just I just don't think he needs to to do that. That that ten grand that he saved up now Anthony? Where would you tell him to invest that might give you didn't use it for the approach? Keep? my savings account and cannot be glad to say you know. I thank you. I think you're wrong. I think you're wrong for telling him to not do that. he needs to go to this apprenticeship programme. They need to pay for it. He needs to work there let him save his money. Think about it at all five years old. He can have education, he can have about ten fifteen thou. I was account and he can have the experience now at twenty five seconds as for somewhere go somewhere else. What a large savings account no dead end experience making anywhere from a ninety two I forty thousand dollars acting together Long term play in I'm just going to say is not kid Zat than O Neill. He needs a good due to free
yeah I like Ruth, I grew thicker I just like walk and people through, but what your options I do think this wrong. wrong on this one. However, I just think that three years exe means for a young man at eighteen, who that's really really value annexed to keep that money. I let's go. to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where Sue is on the line. So how we help. Hi. How are you guys think break my call you bert? What's up? Ok sergeant, some, it's kind of a growing me he's asking but thoroughgoing whether you paid off our debt I'm working on it, we were working on our three to six months emerges. Do fine, though, like on my budget, I have like thinking, find you know, like birthday prizes Balfour replaced that bill bill that always have my envelopes for the money. One something happened right clue to think about it.
My emergency fund or do I just include or wall what I'm thinking of the fund? well when it comes to EU emergency. Finally, we caught at thirty six must have your expenses and gazed at a key word. There is an expenses, do you need to survive to keep your life the way it is now for three to six months, so you can determine emergency happens, and I just cut off everything am I going to stop doing my hair and my going to stop by and perfect gift. Am I going to stop getting my nails done, you decide and you figure out k what you need for me. I have a four three to six months. You know I love golfing, some apart of membership. I've got up. So I put all that emergency funds just just phase? If I do want to keep my golf membership, I can go there but check this out in a true emergency cannot golfing right. So I can that money out
towards a fully in a wherever the murderous, so rich. I would say: go ahead, put three to six months of your daily monthly expenses, so an emergency country have a little more cushion in their teeth to keep going, the great point, because you're gonna buy birthday present for your kid. You are your hope. You know until we're not gonna, go hey we're suspending birthdays this year, rack respect in the old days. You know my grandfather used to tell me that he would get an orange for Christmas. Like David, I'm not kidding, I grew up in the thirties and they live in the south Western Daniel you know. I'm not an orange order. Do you imagine our kids these days can't be thirty minutes without their phones. My grandfather got illusions and avalanches. Inadequate for Christmas,
a minute. That's may need some more emergencies for our kids justly that shock, and only by may sound like an old guy. Now, don't move avenue, NEO kid Coleman sitting in this hour of the day, Ramsay show more common rider, this is the Dave Ramsay Show so excited to have you with us, Anthony O Neill again common with you this hour on the Dave. How can we help hi, my for taking my the bottom a while ago- and I got stuck on a date. These Bob and I decided to go round- was alone. How much are you you haven't? Babies have three right now: about twenty thousand brandy, comma. Yes, to avoid why'd you now you don't make me laugh they make me now, but here's how much you make an annual brain. How much do you make of about forty five properly paid print, but we do we can bring to listen. when we get out the phone Kelly's gonna. Give you a copy of my destroy you. More than the passive college, though, I'm wondering what should I do with the surplus of that money going to succeed. Question, no eighteen, nineteen years old, I can give you all the advice today. and you won't make the right decisions with that kind of money. Can we had a call put my last? We know the young king getting about a hundred thousand dollars. Here's what I recommend! You know of course, number one is going to be: make sure that you can complete school one hundred percent debt free, but with that kind of money this could set up your feet to very positively and gave git you ahead of the game, so I would recommend you sit down our smart vessel prose when it does happen. So in two years remember. You need, it down with a financial adviser, say: listen, I'm into the stars check what it made decisions, what I do. I am eighteen, I'm going into school. I have this much It needs to be paid for his armor. Have a lot of money left!

Should it no one trying to gave her the wrong information, because not all financial advisers Kin can we trust, which is why We have that at all costs, Marvell surprised us it s. What you for for yourself, man is never and make sure your college is taken care of, number to give it that financial adviser that can show you how to properly invest in check this out and what you remember this two years later, don't do what they tell you to do, acts them too educate you on.
