All right? Let's start with something part If we have genuinely better and better looking covert updates over the last few weeks billion in the United States, and today is no exception. Questions were asking right now before we look at the data. Is this the last wave? We don't What will the winter look like we're not yet sure how much more do we need to vaccinate quite a bit but we're not totally sure many other questions as well. Let's start with cases since the daily dealt a variant peak,
about a hundred and sixty seven thousand cases per day. The United States is now down thirty nine percent in daily average cases to about a hundred and two thousand per day outrageously high, but as more and more people get vaccinated, cases will mean less and less Doktor Isaac Bow GOSH last week, told us, but were not there yet and for now thirty nine percent daily case reduction is a very good thing in terms of deaths in general. You know this by now. Rule of thumb deaths follow cases by three or four weeks. Deaths are continuing to do so, a deaths now down about twenty per cent per day from their dealt a peak, the delta peak was about nineteen hundred deaths per day were now down to about sixteen hundred deaths per day
still a really high number remember that a typical flew season is about thirty six thousand deaths a year. That's like a hundred deaths a day, so right now we're at sixteen times a typical, flew seasons daily debts. Sixteen times, That's an interesting metric by the way to compare when we think about the relative risk of death from covered when we're out there. How does this compared to a flu season over the course of a year. And the truth is it's not really like this, because your thirty six thousand flew deaths are concentrated during flew season? That's why we call Lucien, but on average a hundred flew deaths a days with the? U S season a year were now at sixteen hundred Kova deaths per day. Globally. We are seeing cases continuing down about thirty. Five percent since the delta peak and then of course, glow.
That's as well have peaked at about ten thousand three hundred a day. Those are now down to about seven thousand global. That's a day, that's a reduction of about a third thirty one percent to be exact in daily global debt. So that's good now about vaccination, but, as we talked about last week the week before the, U S is getting embarrass the: U s his wrath badly declining in terms of the percentage of people vaccinated in the U S compared to other countries, particularly compared to other so called rich countries. Take a look at this the leaders in vaccinated percentage are United Arab Emirates tiny country followed by Portugal, which has ten million people. Chile, Spain, Singapore Oleg. Why Canada, Denmark, China, Ireland, ITALY, Finland, France, Japan, UK, Brazil, Germany
Then you get to the United States and vaccinated percentage just ahead of Turkey and just ahead of Mexico. What happened to us? We had all the vaccines earlier than any one, and we just can't do it people are getting. The vaccine is horrifying. What's going on, it's embarrassing what's going on and we talk about it so much and then lastly, the global vote sensation. Effort overall, has also slowed down global We had gotten up to about forty Five million vaccines per day around the world were now down to roughly half of that about twenty three million vaccine doses per day. You look at the glue the population that means each day we're vaccinating zero point to nine percent of the global population college. Zero point three: just under a third of one percent of the world, is getting a D.
each day getting that back up to forty five million doses a day, even fifty sixty million Dose the day would be absolutely huge, but the Good NEWS, no thanks to the deniers. No thanks to the anti vaccine in those spreading the disinformation and misinformation cases down significantly debts also down. Let's hope it continues, will check in next week and hope that the numbers are looking even better hey, I'm in a show you some stunning video, republican, Senator Linsey Gram being brutally booed for saying you should think about getting that vaccine. This, happened to Trump and I'll remind you of that daily, beast reporting Republicans shout down. Lindsey Gram for pushing the vaccine. This is from our friend will summer, who's been a guest on the programme before who writes.
Senator Linsey Grand was booed by republican activists Saturday, after he suggested they should consider taking the corona virus back in making him the latest prominent Republican to face a backlash from the parties grass roots over the vaccine, speaking at a county republican event in Somerville South Carolina am said he received the vaccine and encouraged audience members to take it as well. A gram cited statistics showing most patients are on vaccinated and the crowd only got more angry. Let's look at this video we're gonna. Look at the Trump videos here's Lindsey and listen to the crowd Europe think about Gaza July. They don't even want to think it's actually. Quite quite stunning, there told just think about it. They don't even want to do that. It is actually emblematic of this republican Party
Oswald after vaccinate They don't believe the day at least claim not to believe, because most people in the hospital around back, no no Let's go man right. Within that is probably unconstitutional What, I think is untrue. Ok, so this guy screaming this gentleman although I don't really know. If he's a gentleman, this guy says he's gonna lose his job and sixty if he doesn't get vaccinated, he wants Linsey to stop it. There. You have a name, so anyway, I just I just don't know why you have to be well
the Belgians taken shots so little, its rise and other approach. How many you have been vaccinated against measles and the crowd is prepared. Their prepare they stable, but that's not the same. Bill. No, yes, you are child labour. Why do we have plenty of soldiers no Why you wanna get people clearly addresses for us too late for you. Why you do have the crowd says: yes, half the crowds as now That's. Why are you so that guy, completely on hedge, so there's loony Lindsey
but he's trying to not be loony, he's trying to be sensible, Linsey and it doesn't go well. This is what have and when the monster you created turns again, You here is a reminder of what had happened to trumped this. Was it a rally not long ago? Remember this guy's! This was wild three days less than nine months adage grade, and you know what I believe: totally new freedoms, three you gotta do we have to do. I recommend take the vaccines, I did it. It's good take the vaccine, But you it's ok, you got your freedoms, but I happen to take the vaccine every does it work, you'll be the first to know I'll call up Alabama, hey, you know what it is working, but you do have they do not like it. You build this monster and now it is biting the owners head off the creators head off folks. This is increasing
Leah republican virus. You know remember that image from earlier this week of the last one hundred covert deaths have mostly been in tromp Landy. I showed you this earlier in the week. You look at a map of the last hundred thousand covert deaths. It looks like the map, where they voted for Trump, most heavily that the strategy. The approach here seems to be. Owning the liberals by getting covert and dying or something like that. They, they believe, they're proving a point in this way, and at this point people like Lindsey Gram, whose cuckoo but slightly less cuckoos some the others. He seems to realise we gain nothing by not getting vaccinated. Just our voters, diet, greater rate than their voters, and that's probably not good for elections is probably not good for economies. It's not good for anything. It has become a bizarre. It I mean can. Is it a pyrrhic victory in the sense that they don't get?
ex unaided, but then some of them die in its a wind but you're sustaining a loss in that people are dying. I dont know what to call it. Maybe just dumb May We don't need to go, and try to be more sophisticated than what it calls for. Maybe it's just dumb and bad about idea, but they turned on on Lindsey just like they did on Donald Trump reminder, Tuesday ACT? or nineteen we're doing, a live, Viewer town hall. Now I'm not going to do the lazy he's an anti vaccine, not sort of thing
it's been floating around there in some articles? Written that straight up, say: Russell Brand is anti facts. I find it lazy. Quite frankly, there is daily beast. Article called comedian. Russell brand has become a powerful voice for anti vaccines, which comes maybe a little closer to the reality of? What's going on up and the way we're gonna look at some clothes, we're gonna, look at a lot of different things. The way that I characterize this is that Russell Brand is definite Lee dancing around on the topic of vaccination, he's asking questions and making such questions all in ways that encourage vaccine hesitancy or scepticism without like really explicitly taking an anti back.
in position now one can make the argument that doing it. The way he's doing it might be more pernicious than straight up just doing anti backs propaganda. I dont know what his intentions are and will talk about that at the end, will look at the material first, but what is clear is that, whatever he's been doing, it has worked. Well to build an audience and in particular around these sort of contrary in ideas, as we might call them, and then may play a role in how is choosing to frame issues. Maybe he's being encouraged to do this stuff because it's doing well, I dont know: let's start with evolution and we're gonna hit kind of a few different points and go from there. Here is Russell brand many times talking about how he neutral about everything and just sort of look into everything. He has no opinion or advice for you about co, better vaccines, retrieval he's neutral. Let's take a look.
Guy, I'm Switzerland when it comes to this subject, no view at all? I am merely flow in series of molecules spores in space that foods by protein got attached to something now completely neutral. You can do your own research into the impact of corona virus. I would suggest that you look beyond them stream media into the impact of vaccines and the efficacy of vaccines and make your own decisions hooker. I have no opinion offering any advice or suggestions opinions. Are I'm not even a covert just measuring and judging the conversation that takes place around it. Oh god I'm so maybe it's good to be neutral, Sometimes I guess, but the really important take away here is neutrality. Is not objectivity, neutrality and objectivity are two different things if I say I'm neutral between water being necessary for human life
or water being the biggest scam on earth that humans dont really need to live. I'm staking out of it. Mission of neutrality, but there's nothing objective about it. I'm just completely wrong. I'm not adhering to the facts in my neutrality, I'm neutral, but I'm completely wrong so that's one reason to always be sceptical about loudly profess neutrality, because neutrality and objectivity are two different things. So, let's now look at Russell Brands. First statement that I could- find about cove it. This was back in March of twenty twenty March thirteenth of twenty twenty. I believe this was just a few days after Trump made. The big speech about were closing. This were closing that and there's a virus. and it's already sort of like a little bit Wu Wu and starting to this- is that I discover that lends itself to people looking to you to justify their own skeptical
some and disbelief even about things you're not directly. Talking about take a look, my personal taken it is. It is a reminder that reality lies below the surface. Delete history. Allergies cannot be seen. Micro biology can at any point also the game and asked what about what's happening, even beneath that held in fields of invisible energy. So I suppose you know so it's you don't wash IRAN's the ADI Sensible Never currently remember how often we live in concepts and constructs thought are not real and not beneficial. So I tell you know I guess wash your hands, but at the same time. You know we can really see a lot of this stuff and oh, no it it's starting to get a little bit school. She ok, then we cut
this year, where it's really ramped up as his follower base has grown. This type of stuff is ramped up. This is now we're going from last March, one hundred and thirty two, this September 13th, just under a month ago, Russell Brand says the problem of Covid is small, hair to that of the vaccine mandate. So now we're really getting into some MIDI stuff for the Anti backs crowd. Whatever rustles view is of vaccines per se the problem of corona virus is small compared to the problem of the framework that we are discovering, howl, J, ai framework of disdain, contempt and conflict. As long as we forget fundamental basic values, kindness, open communication tolerance. If we forget those things there is no society worth saving, no matter what you believe now. This is one of those things where, like yeah, kindly
it's ok, sure sure, but the problem of Kuwait is still a big problem and that it did did this idea of this. This up. minimizing again, whatever his views are it feeds into it feeds into the people who want to say we don't need the vaccine or the mandates are definite about her. Whatever now here's a little bit of a break, do something that also, as part of this Russell spoke with TIM Pool TIM Pool, is this guy. We ve interviewed him before. He said he used to be on the laughter he sort of still claims, the ninety percent of its content is anti democratic. I've talked to him about it that either the no no. It should not come as a shock to many of you that a key he said he voted for tromp in twenty twenty, so this is
another one of these, like I'm sort of I'm on the left, I'm kind of an enlightened centrist. Really it just seems that, like as at least you're, mostly doing content that criticizes the left and your voting for Trump, ok, so Russell brings on TIM Pool and they do. This stick about were very close to civil war, very, very close to civil war, and this is a troop now, but the left is ripping us apart. Word there pushing us to the brink of civil war, be used to say more frequently at least is I am aware that the felt that I think I guess in their final days, from America was on the brink of some kind of civil war, and I still do dear yeah there's, but there there's been put the data that I think, maybe you know, evolve, that opinion no Billy. There was a, U Gov Data that shall I think it was. You know, that's there's five regions in the United States theirs
northeastern, there's the southern there's, the heartland, there's that the west in the mountain regions and and each region there was a large plurality of people who wanted to secede from the union, inform their own. Regional governments is unduly if you, if you normalized for population in each by each state. I did the math you end up with thirty seven point, two percent of the: U S: population, wanting the country to break apart. Ok now I dont exactly know the normalization he's referring to. I know what normalization means. I remember we talked about that that Paul, I don't Sadly no matter what he means. Maybe he doesn't even mean normalization. He just ask extrapolated, I think maybe TIM doesn't know the difference between extrapolating normalizing. What he's not mentioning is that those disproportionately one thing to secede or southern Republicans, and this entire or civil war narrative that he and some others have been pushing imp, sometimes, if explicitly sometimes implicitly, I.
About will grant that it's not always expose it. Is that the left's intolerant? or unwillingness to do whatever is what's pushing us to the brink of civil war, The reality is that the closest thing that we got to a civil war starting I can recall less many years was the January sixth insurrection. It was exclusively trumpets who did it and even if you look at secession in succession and civil war, two different things. It's disproportionately southern republicans who want to do it, and this is the type of stuff that that Russell platforms, I would say it's not responsible platform- And that is not really ready to rebut the substance of what is being said. Ok then Russell, and shares a tweet which seems to be telling people how to get around covert safety measures during his comedy tour? Okay, this is called the thirty three tour Russell Brand tweeted this and its thirty three tour info.
Says. There are some misunderstandings around the venue requirements for the thirty three tour. This should address the concerns we ve seen expressed No, then you requires you to be double vaccinated, so that sort of, like you can just go, We get one, and not the second and you're gonna be able to get in most venues. Do not ask for any certification again saying: It's kind of the honour system at a lot of places, you can probably go without being vaccinated, some require proof of a negative test and then saying, if you have a ticket that requires you to have a test, and you dont want one will move your ticket to another venue it it might require travel. So again, it's it's all kind of slow. parry, like no one of these things- is that agreed? Yes, but it's all fomenting a particular line of thought from the people that far ok, so now will go to a more recent clip in this clip. Russell brand suggests looking beyond
the mainstream media for information, about vaccines and what's really slippery and squashy about this one is I'm the four, to agree. You can't just trust corporate media for everything, but the implication here is that there is this whole other hidden truth, that's not being presented in the corporate media about vaccine in the end, if you, if you are aware that that the general narrative which is accurate, is well that actions are quite safe and quite effective if you're being told there, some other completely differ narrative without him telling you anything anti backs per se. You start to think. While what? What am I not being told, let's take a lesson and do your own research into the impact of corona virus, and I would suggest that you look beyond the mainstream media into the impact of vaccines and the efficacy of vaccines and make your own decisions have no opinion right. He has no. He still has no opinion, but again it's this idea that,
You may not be getting told all the things you should be getting told and you ve gotta look for it here is Russell Brand, then, on vaccine passports, which he equates to totalitarianism, is very interesting How this particular issue is being free it with a very specific and one might argue, tat. Tyler. Tarrying mindset we're elsewhere our cultures, a bill on principles individualism from me, like a volume and individual you're responsible for your own life, you're responsible, if you're in or if you can't make a gull of life yourself ass, you will fall ass. Your responsibility so is being regarded uniquely someone like me, this skeptical and sometimes downright cynical about the agenda of governments and relationships of government with big business. Something like this makes me concern. about the direction we're Haiti. So again, it's just vaguely alluding to the idea of freedom free,
Is not anybody requiring a vaccine for sure that that's absolutely not it, and then this is just where it starts. To get really weird Russell says he saw a dead fish in the river and that seems like a bad omen from the standpoint of totalitarian vaccine passports. Where were you use on the pandemic, where it came from how it came to be here what the impact of a zone of individual, social and cultural level. The fact is that now the response to it does a line with some people, opinions about government agenda? I further control further invasion, further regulation of your life. They very idea that you might not be able to attend a public event without showing Will that concerns reality? Unless I will, we all got national insurance numbers? Is that
I don't know man like the other day. I was on the river. Why and I saw that fishing that river, like in life when you see things, but I feel like an indication of something foreboding its, I think foolish not to respond to it. So it gets that strange. Ok that now it starts to get really strange and then just to give you kind of like just a final tour through this here is Russell sing. Russia Gate quote: Russia. Gate was cooked up by the Clinton's, which is becoming very poor, Pillar among the right, we'll move so fast is almost no time for history seems like years ago that we would hearing that tromp was colluding with Russia. They would have won the election without Russia. That he's whole presidency was a kind of pew implore. All these now serious evidence that it was the clean and campaign and Hillary Clinton acolytes, but would directly involved in the generation of was proven to be
seriously untrue. Think about how much MIDI watched so this. This is just a straight up right Talking point, and then lastly, here he says vaccine fact, checkers may not be trustworthy. You have to be open, minded and open allied about the reality of the information, your being presented elsewhere in another one of our videos. We talk about the silver appetite for a paw. I got. People have not been vaccination, we push this way. I don't have a strong opinion. Will you do with your life? You should be free, I should be, for you should be free to talk. We shall be free could disagree, but why have concerns about the legislation and regulation around the whale information is communicate. Information is sense. It because I want to feel like I can trust
people are one if you like, I can trust the media. I want to feel like our trust, the government on any Joyce unity I shall do enjoy in doing this, but I feel that the systems themselves are so dependent on their own of corrupt, spiralling inter relationship that is not possible for it to operate freely. I don't even think there's any one: evil, Facebook or CD see a way of artists. Think there's just a big, so tidal rolling of profiteering that south of invaded that people can't say that it's happening is bigger than then that's what system a system is like we're were set of nodes operating in a broader trajectory of group, broadly tell us, and none of us can survive so step outside and eyeing. Almost I known, as is the best way to do things, and if you causing a situation like this
check being funded by people, lose track check. Fact its checking it he's goin out there. Then then you'll live reminded Indiana, so anyway, even the fact checkers maybe cannot cannot be trusted. Ok, so so, what's the bottom line here, the difficulty here is This is not like straight up anti backs and Calling Russell Brand Anti Vax is is lazy it it's not. It doesn't really encompassing no real single anti vaccine clip he's dancing he's incur urging anti backs people to become more anti backs, nothing is doing it purpose. But he is the videos he comes out. All have the same sort of like tat. which were going to look at prob. With the vaccine, studies against the vaccine famous proponent of the vaccine, who you can't trust- and he hints one way while claiming to be neutral but clearly he's not objective just wilt- will look at some of his clip titles here
The war on lab leak debate just got even something else: are these behold. I must look at which the vaccine related ones how big pharmacy owes supplant power if it from keeping you maybe it's. Sick Can we really trust vaccine fact? Checkers the thought Biden couldn't sink any lower, think again, vaccine apartheid Don lemons, covert, bombshell, good science or irresponsible? This is why you can't trust me far more shocking war had evidence, etc. It's vaccine mandates assault on your bodily, whatever it's actually quite similar, to the Jimmy Door idea it's very similar to what Jimmy toward us. Boucherie has no answer. Study vaccines being administered incorrectly vat side effects, Reported sudden hearing loss vaccines cause her.
Keynes Biden, says vexing. Gaza, which is just a model, is just data that that's kind of the Biden, dementia story comin. search among vaccinated. It's the exact same type of idea. A couple different things could be happy one: some individuals are just taking their distress of the pharmaceutical industry, which we should all have to some degree and broadly applying it to cover it and to the vaccine in aid that maybe as well intended, but is very much misguided for others. This is a straight up gripped. I dont know which It is for Russell Brand. I genuinely dont know which category I put him in taking pharmaceutical scepticism too far. Griffith delusional, I don't know, but the evolution of Russell Brand is giving significant comfort so to speak and encouragement,
to those already skeptical of just going out and getting vaccinated. So things continue to really just go horribly wrong for Facebook. We talked yesterday about the Monday outage of Facebook, Instagram and what's up, we talked about the Sunday unveiling of who is this whistle blower that release thousands of documents about face internal Facebook documents about Facebook knows about the harm that cause to different people. By its platforms, France's how, in the name of the whistle blower- and I played yes, for you, an interview with one facebook executive on an pr, and it was just terrible. Just the guy seem shaken by the obvious questions unable to answer in a coherent way. Yesterday we had testimony from the whistle blower Francis Huggin, and then afterwards we had a very unusual interview with facebooks vice president for content policy, Monica bickered on CNN. Where again I dont know if these interviews
oh horribly wrong, because the people are unprepared or because the fact simply are on their side, and there is really no way to come off, looking even remotely coherent and sensible. So first, let's start with a CNN article just quickly outlining the take a ways from yesterday's testimony: white by the Facebook whistleblower Francis. How again yesterday testified before a Senate subcommittee the Big take a ways: ok, facebooks mechanics further: the spread of misinformation, one big, take away. Second, take away. Facebook has taken limited action to address existing misinformation. We really knew this, but again further confirmed. Facebook has misled the public about the negative effects of its platforms on children and teens, especially young girls. Despite public statements from Mark Zuckerberg, another saying it's pretty good,
In short, internal documents show they know about the negative effects and Facebook knows its platform enables human exploitation. So, let's get to this interview that took place this is an interview with Monica bicker VP for content policy on Facebook, and it's very similar to the one yesterday that I played for you. and pr here we have video and its deflection end, just kind of like strange, not very credible denials as a current Facebook executive, Monica bigger, as vice president for content policy at face. Look Miss Baker! Thank you! So much for being here, I really appreciate it. I know you just heard that report and so I want to get your check on what Francis Haagen has said. Is it true their facebook uses? is algorithms rhythms. They push inflammatory content because that drives more clicks and engagement. It is not shrill and I want to say that there have been a lot of these territories Asians today about what those
One document say, and the work that we are doing to keep Facebook save I but thank just on clear just. I do not think this is a key interjection. What what specifically You deny who do not use your saying. What part is not true, you don't push out inflammatory controversial com tat, because you know that heightens engagement. We do the opposite. and back no, no, no that's just now is where it gets silly. You push out nodded, gauging content come on, come on it, it now gets you do
think a better way to answer this would be to say, unfortunately, in our world, the most salacious news is more likely to be shared by users by users. This is human. Nature is not unique to Facebook. I saw I sound like a flunkey now for enough, a pr person for these companies. This is not unique to Facebook. We can't control the fact that a lot of the stuff. That's most salacious that people want to share is fake news and disinformation. What we can do, however, is have an algorithm that will not one label. It is such a number tuna right. Ok, but Jim RO. We do the opposite. What you push out stuff people, don't find interesting, come on hey, look in our transparency fire! You can actually see that we, the most. Maybe we reduce the visibility of engagement
and why would we do not? One big reason is because, for the long term, health of our services, we want people to have a good, We want them to want to continue to come back to these sites and connect with the people they care about. What gets people coming back to the site is that it's a source, of titillating rage, inducing fear inducing material. That's what keeps people coming back. It would be sit. Facebook doesn't think you know if we keep doing this for a hundred years, then no, no it's just. It doesn't work that way for years to come to my mom are you I will hold on. I have a question about that. Do you deny that teenage girls are not having a good experience honest around? the majority of young people in Instagram and our having a good experience, and that is borne out by the document I was Doin convene the instagram.
Survey of about forty instrument, users, guys Forty users, forty four zero on a platform that has a hundreds of millions, is either billions of people on. Instead, These were teens, who are already struggling with mental health issues and all of these issues, the majority, animals said that she ran either make things better or doesn't have a material impact on there not much more than a loan on home, I'm just not about their years on just one thing: I'd like your piece. Yours you: do not have internal research that shows that depression and Recital thoughts go up for teenage girls as do thoughts of eating disorders. I'm saying that, for the majority of teens, that's really slippery. The question is do. You have internal data that says it's: it's hurting the young kids, including girls. What Monica bickered says.
We have one survey that says it's not hurting them and its based on forty people, because what's the truth, the truth is they have this forty person survey that pointing to, and then they have all of the other data. That is exactly what Francis Huggin said, but she's not talking about that. It's not It's not a denial, it's just. We also have this forty percent survey. That's fine! Instagram! and the certainty that bet stolen survey, that was, I share them. Testimony shows that the majority in this was a very small survey. This is not here again right by them, serving as dry significant, because what it actually says, Palmerston people can no longer for themselves on its wild issues. For these. things or horror he struggled with mental health issues. Grandma enjoy them said is very makes things better for doesn't hurt. We have also again now now were multiple minutes into a forty percent survey, which is the only one she wants to talk about dying.
I am not. The minority of thirteen percent said that it increase suicidal, for example, may I say that I spent my career as a criminal I, and what the law on child safety, so even one teenager having a bad experience on is to pursue that's like sort of an appeal to authority, fallacy in a sense, gonna genetic fallacy that may have been She was doing in a previous role. That's not what she's doing now and I can tell you that the hundreds of people at Facebook Ashley, do work on child safety. This former employees, not I do not want those do work on child safety at work with dozens of them, colonel academics and shall safety experts, and this is our priority. Not who would Papa would possibly believe that. So there's there's a few more minutes this interview, I encourage you to check it out the ito
in sense. It genuinely surprising how poorly prepared these Facebook folk seem to be at the same time. Maybe this is prepared, as you can be, but the fact sound on your side and that's fundamentally what the problem is here. So let me know your thoughts. I know Facebook has to do something there. Sort of these folks are in and in a sense in an impossible position because they have to defend the indefensible. This is not. I don't believe this issue is going away any time soon hey. This is something very, very interesting. rioting as a family affair, a mother and son rioted together on January six? Isn't that loving is? Is that an act of love? Would we call it that of they ve now both been arrested. Okay, New York, mother and son, arrested in theft of policies, staff laptop during the capital riot and B C news reporting that the F
I have arrested Mary Ann Mooney Rondon, fifty five and her son Raphael Rondon, twenty three of Watertown New York in connection with a stolen laptop according to court documents. This is actually out of Alaska, which where they ended up. Finding the computer, apparently in your mother and son, have been charged with theft in aiding the disappearance of a laptop belonging to the staff of Nancy Policy during the Trump riots after the FBI, initially rated a home forty five hundred miles away from DC in Alaska. Looking for the computer, the F b I have arrested as I mentioned, Marian Mooney Rondon and her son Raphael Rondon in connection with that laptop used only for presentations according to quote court documents both also face other charges related to the riot
the capital Raphael, Rondon also faces possession of classic and unregistered sawed off shot gun. Both were in federal court Friday in Syracuse New York released pending further proceedings. Now there is even a question: you know the trump. I've been saying these folks are being treated so unfairly held in blue sawed off shot gun. Rioting at d c and they're just released a pending further proceedings. If anything, it seems these folks may be treated very lightly by the criminal justice system, so far break into the capital, steel policies, laptop sawed, off shock and charge and just walk free pending further proceedings. Now, there's no significant reform to be done here, but the point is the argument that they're all being treated disproportionately unfairly for political reasons, clearly doesn't apply to everybody
Capital right was well documented by those who took part a tip to the FBI, led them to the mother and son according to a statement of fact, documented by an FBI special, agent, Mooney Rondon, that's the mom allegedly admitted to being in both the capital, day of the riots as well as Nancy Policies, conference room, she allegedly provided gloves or a scarf to a man to steal the laptop without leaving fingerprints. He asked he said, give me, I don't know if it was gloves or a scarf. I was wearing and, like I said, he scared me. D. Comment quotes her as saying there is also another interesting thing here that I think is relevant o the level of premeditation. Ok, they want to push the idea that everything was spur of the moment. Look at this Raphael Rondon! That's the son, told police officers that he and mother took the metro on January. Six quote
I'm not taking my car into the city which the capital building I'm about to break into really under cuts. The idea that this with some kind of spur of the moment thing they seem to be saying. We at least suspected that things were going to get sort a crazy, and so we deliberately didn't bring the car we took public too. and it instead at least some degree their of for knowledge or premeditation. So we will. We will follow this case, as were following other cases but mother and son, mother and son. Can you imagine? and the stories about these individuals mean those not up I'll, be transparent. You read about many of these stories. They're just sat there. It's it's sad people, but that doesn't mean that they shouldn't be held accountable and, in fact we're going to talk about that.
in the next segment witches. There has not been nearly enough accountability for the trump riders we'll get to that after the short break. One of our sponsors is blink. The link is in the podcast notes, my friend They aren't even pretending any more that they don't want more violence. There are threatening it openly. There calling us you know. We might have to do more violent stuff, I'm about to play video for you of former Trump strategist and a former bright part propagandist Steve, Bannon, Steve
and says we aren't gonna, have four thousand shock troops ready to go we're going to have twenty thousand shock troops ready to go so that we can take control of this country. They are even hiding it anymore. Let's take a look at the video. This is free. Steve Barons Programme, the war room on raw he'll America's voice. Listen to this. The opposition, particularly opposition leader, in all their saw boys, everything, Silicon Valley, media, it's not big part of the population, and they understand that they understand it then they fear, I just indignation of the can class in this country another now and that's where their mouth tell the story. I gave this talk these appointees interview. I said where women get twenty twenty two women when big and twenty twenty four, we need to get ready now right
we control this country. We can start acting like it in we're going to like it. We're not gonna, have four thousand vertigo really have twenty thousand radio and we're in a picture four thousand best and most ready every single department and actually really started deconstruct administrators state that Turkey of saving it always trying to show no, no, no, no, no we're trying to get it FDA, worship, shock troops on stand by. We control this country. We have to start acting like it and a Zack Patrice so reported Joe Ban of Steve Bannon continued by talking about the importance of spiritual warfare to his audience to defeat the enemy. This is
exactly what the f B. I should be investigating this that this is exactly the type of thing that will rile people up and get them ready to do horrible things again, he's essentially calling for a song. I mean it is militia. Even the right word. He is calling for a people to be on stand by to forcibly take slash remain in power. Now I do want a sort of turn this around, and that? Take it as an opportunity to make a different point if there aren't more seat if there are more and more serious consequences for the January sixth rioters, that will also implicitly encourage them to try again into go crazier. This guy was the Chiefs,
rather just for the President of the United States. This is not ending anytime soon, it's been less than a year since Trump helped by senators members of Congress the mega people, people like Steve, and they encouraged they in I did they pushed for an attempt to try to take the election from the guy who actually won it. Who was Joe Biden now some of the do perhaps some of the Patsy'S- that's really what they are. They faced repercussions to some degree, a couple I've been sentenced somewhere in the middle of trials. We talked earlier about the mother and son who were arrested, but none of the people who instigated in Congress has lost the seat. Now we haven't had elections, yet I understand that will see if they lose seats. But the point is it's not clear whether they will really have and suffer electoral consequences.
for their inciting for the fomenting of what happened on January sick. So you know we. The lone Wolf recently who tried to burn down a democratic office in Texas things like that as long as the right continues to add a at a structural level, push this type of vice rhetoric, there are going to continue through this kind of stuff casting terrorism that we ve talked about before creating These individual incidents, the individuals may face consequences. Some may not some may plead out. We don't know yet but are they really loan wolves? When you have this entire partisan apparatus right wing media apparatus, a strong contingent of Republicans in the House and Senate. When their encouraging it are, they re They even loan wolves anymore, even if that the physical act as one they carry out by themselves. As far as we know, there's isn't
apparatus kind of vaguely encouraging this behaviour. If not specifically, now some are asking. How is what's the ban in saying not treasonous treason is a sort of specific in terms of its legal definition, article three section three of the constitution which says, treason against the. U S shall consist only in loving war against them or in hearing. Their enemies, giving them aid and confer comfort. The key is that treason means going again the? U S and Americans as a whole. This is all kind of tinged enough about going against. political party and a movement that it's probably not sufficient to meet the definition of reason it's more like a seditious conspiracy to overthrow the the particular government that there is or something like that, but it doesn't make it any more morally acceptable. Let's make that a completely clear, so we're going to see more
this action in real life, because we're continuing to see more of the rhetoric on right wing media and back to my earlier segment on Russell Brand, without straight up being anti backs and Russell Brand probably isn't anti backs. He as kind of threat it a line that is asking the right questions as they love to say to push people to become anti backs on their own, if they're not already on, if and if they already just kind of, encourages them in and ingrained them. In those believes. This is very similar with what we're seeing with Tucker calling about a real insurrection might be warranted Steve Ban in talking about twenty thousand shock troops and the like. This is real stuff and it has real consequences in the real world. I went back and forth about whether to cover this next story, and I decided to ultimately and there's a few points I want to make, because there are kind of some bad takes coming from this story. So the story that has surfaced
is hey. Trumps finances are collapsing, but what's the evidence? Well, Forbes has this writ a list of the richest four hundred Americans that they publish and Donald Trump is off the list for the first time in a really really really long time. So Donald Trump financial situation is suffering. The article on Forbes says. Donald Trump is worth an estimated two point: five billion dollars lie giving him four hundred million dollars short of the cut off to make this year's Forbes four hundred list of America's richest people, the real estate mobile is just as wealthy as he was a year ago when he was known three: thirty, nine on the ranking, but he's down six hundred million since the start of the pandemic Tech stocks, crypto and other sets have thrived in the covert era, but big city properties making up the bulk of trumps fortune, have languished, knocking the former president out of the nation's most exclusive club. They have this chart showing trumps ranking,
in terms of wealth, and there was a point for in the early nineties, rather were tromp was like roughly in the top hundred wealthiest than in the early two thousands he kind of got up close to the fiftieth wealthiest, and then it's been declining since twenty fifteen. So there there's a few different things here that I think are important because there is, there is some confusion about sort of what this means we have to balance. On the one hand, it really shouldn't be insanely profitable to be president. Now every president is gonna get at this point. They gonna get a nice booked he'll at minimum for sure, but remember that Donald Trump still made one point: six billion dollars over the four years that he was president now he said he was gonna, be out of his businesses, blind trust, even though he didn't really understand what that is, the big presentation, with a stack of paper that
was legal paper that we don't even know what what it did. He made a killing during his presidency so that children trump still made one point six billion during his for years. At the same time, the presidency did some damage to trumps brand. I mean there's, probably close to half the country on principle, wouldn't go to a Trump hotel at this point in time, and so Trump still filthy, rich he's, just not quite as rich relative to this group of the richest Americans. number he still as wealthy as he was a year ago in terms of dollars, but because Trump is real estate. Heavy and a lot of these other rich people are more diversified. Crypto stocks are the things trump and ranking has fallen behind so You you, a lot of people are wanting to take just like a black and white view. Oh so well, if he is no longer in the richest four hundred. Clearly he didn't
open pillage for his personal wealth. While he was president. Well, though, he benefited greatly from being president foreign, in areas coming in staying at his hotels in order to ingratiate themselves with em, etc. He still made one point: six billion during his presidency His kids made a ton of money despite being sort of loosely or less loosely associated with the administration. I dont need the guy to be poor, but let's not allow him, importantly to skirt responsibility and the due process of others, because he's rich when it comes to saying no, this person, I dont, have to testify in this case, and I don't have to provide documents in that case and all the other stuff because he used to be president or be or because he was present at the time and the issue of exactly how rich he is relative to others is less important. So to some degree many of trumps businesses are struggling. Trump makes a ton of money from other things as well licensing, indifferent things. A lot of his hotels
doing so. Well, the valley property values some have suffered, there's no doubt about that, but the right is pointing, does and sing. You guys on. The left were saying trumpets, taking advantage of his position to make money, and he didn't really make money. Now he did. He still made one point: six billion its relative to the other four hundred richest Americans. He comparatively slightly behind four hundred million a year while president is your full time. Job is still very high. Solid. Now the other question is: has he been honest? bowed his wealth all along with. Did he ever We have, I think at one point, it was claiming three or four billion, who the hell knows. That's another question altogether, he's not an honest sky that we know, but let's not read more into this than what we actually should. We
his trumpeted extremely well, while being president, even though he said it, was bad for him financially to be President one point: six billion is pretty good, but some other even richer, mostly men, but people did even better than Trump. That's fundamentally what it comes down to it. not really need to read too much more into it. We have a voice mail number, and that number is too one nine to David P, hey. This is kind of a sad voicemail, long time, adversarial collar, Troy York, who calls in under fake names all the time he left of what his voice.
