I am I just got overcome these are just corrected in my whole life and finances we well
Cassandra, I feel and unite weird its, namely that so what we're gonna do this money That is your name. I never thought of your name's, not area while you're married now. I am married now check that out. That's a wedding ring. Thank you, Strip a dinosaur bone, that's a strip, a meteorite and that's a strip of L gambler there is only I was. A boring old wedding ring. I saw whose meteorite knows forgive. You do and then I just that I looked up dinosaur bonuses, star wars ring all yeah really be. I was, I was very tempted, but I but the thing about like something that specific they feel it could be fun for a while and then You know you know if we add as your way out. I realized that. So I was wondering why you never star wars replied. I just went more for science than I did for just just four star
How are you gonna? How are you married life? It's what I will aids it's gonna, be You know it's a change thing Not really I mean it doesn't get started to changes. The mental level where you're like and it's my life. You know it yeah. I know it's I'm gonna do yeah, I'm not I'm, not I'm not just gonna bolt. Something goes wrong. We're in this were every member that remember, they said the audio. But data dad's words exactly it's exactly the same. Yeah I'd creepy dream about my ex husband, lest I only got us in Alison like the ocean, but it was real com and snow. And we were like dancing, serve around in a circle together and there was a shark going around, as I do that I had to. I knew that I had to kick the shark, but I was afraid of it opened his mouth in my leg would go down sure you're, not while dieting. Yes on the water. With your actions, we got three eyes early,
We spend the whole absolutely constructing a boost. Why did you want to hear your husband doing with my husband? Was this? He was the shark. You kicked the shark in your husband's, no starts bleeding and then everything that the Apocalypse Haven't you know zones, it was only when did you just see a shark thing, or was it now I've seen no shark things nothing. I think I just the way I think about my ex husband, you I want to go there because you just got married I went to sour. The whole experience is another Georgia Armenia. We can probably first had to get the person I've ever met you I love you remember. This might have been Rob Zombie's house, probably Robbie, Robin trees have pepper Yeah probably did me either. I went to a lot of those. Yes, why
yeah! I was thinking it was that I met you to Brooklyn, but no I already had met. Everybody was just yeah. I don't, I think, there's probably to show I did say hello to you rob and share and Rob might it be Cassandra, but it was like. I love run. I know him, I just I've known them for twenty one years is. When you start, I was very much an adult when I met them in our twenty one years ago. Now, while I have known for a long long time to I love they, they came for one time and I made them a rotisserie chicken in my like run poppies were to three of them and they were like in love with it. So that's what I got them for their wedding. There was so happy, that's great! I would you RO the wedding where they killed at their house where they can now they're like we are to get married. So just everyone have a party yeah. I got there. Was over. Do they didn't have it oh they
I don't know what happened. I thought it was this late know everyone showed up thinking there we're gonna there was, maybe a ceremony- and they were like we are to get married a few days ago- does have a party, thank God, and I felt that all these years for being late, I know now what you gonna do it all that extra energy was weighing down on you. I had that was a great party I just releasing Maria Nicholas cage. Having more my God, I am for awhile forgot him over that in most tricky and there they did. They have to be quite what was that about? Oh you know the real generic innovative work here. Jiving your dad what is your girl dad, I don't know what was going on their religious rivers kind little scene, Marie. Did you guys do you wanna day with others? I did I'd buy, tell LISA Marie than I could be her mom
Everyone who bring now that really you know you know what they say. Something like that is someone's. What is now that's like on a date. Well, he was a durable. He was super Cyprus. We any was being very kind of like, dare I say, fatherly within eyes and an enormous only seventeen Seljouk. He was being really really sweet to me and and giving me advice and honestly gave me the vice. The best advice ever got, which was get the hell out of LAS Vegas. I was seventeen and he's like this is no place for young girl got a nice guy. I know it was because the house for my house, I wish he'd, never asked me that damage of innocent yes, but he said I mean I was the youngest showgirl in LAS Vegas history. There and I was. If it was available, seven now be the older showgirl and was there is history? I know I would I'd still be there, because I thought it was the pinnacle of show business. You know I've gotten tv show
seventeen years old was like what is crazy, you're from Kinsey Yak, Kansas. First, I grew up in Cannes. First off farm, and then we moved into the big city. Man had not the little apple, that's right, and then we moved colored of springs. When I was seven because they flooded my town that we lived in, we we lived in a town called Randolph, which is twenty miles outside Manhattan and they flutter that to make a dam, and so but every ruin your data to ruin the ruined it out. Yeah yeah one day of his estate get out, and they give you some money in my relatives, my grandparents, my uncle's may, as everybody just had to evacuate, and what was that about Vegas that seem to be killing a well, I mean no, no, I I was very it. My parents were sticking up on tables and making me dance and people would throw money. When I was I Three or four, so I know your dinner
you mean you're beards. Didn't do that with you about you don't find it did, but didn't I didn't dance, but whenever my my parents, friends would come over because I was so obsessed withstand a comedy, what am I gonna talk that I would do other people's retains, which I'm sure it's really early. And if you have to go over the water from exporting kid, like total secular, but by allowing a that's so that was kind of baked in that that performance thing was baked in it. It made you want to be the centre of it Is that right? That's what happened to me yeah and how we look Look at me, everybody! What? How do you? How do you go to Vegas until I get that pointed use? You just go to c mon go here, want to be a showgirl and they go into silver, are. I was on a vacation with my mom and dad we're going to California to visit her aunt and uncle and me and my two sisters, and I had just seen: Viva LAS Vegas within Margaret and
especially, and I was obsessed with movie- I just kept going to go into it. I was dreaming about thinking about it and that I just I wanted to be an Margarets character in the movie kind of like a Vegas performer sure. So when we had to Vegas I was I was just turn seventeen and an eye. I begged my parents, to let me go to one of the big become tits and feathers show back there. That's not without eyes, in the call that my parents about that's what and I beg beg begged them to go so they finally said. Yes, I had a vague idea being at least so. I said our unity, and so I like put on we're glad made my hair super high finance
Zira, who, by the way, are you well you earlier sort of. I mean why was this much is begging as it was threatening to catch so anyway, site like had this fredericks of Hollywood, broader debate, this gigantic cleavage, and so we need looking pretty. You know like probably like hooker, but I don't know, but when I went in, I had some. Make up and everything on that that the major do said. Oh, you must be a showgirl here, LAS Vegas. No! No! No! No! I don't think so. I was afraid of getting busted furrowing under age and hate I sell us down a minute later. He brings the dance captain. This woman named fluffy and young, and she said do you know how to dance? I suggest some odd answered taken dance on my life and she goes will come back stage and go back there's but gets the stage manager they put on some music. They watch we dance and they say work.
Starting to audition tomorrow for new show here in Vegas. Would you like to be in it? That is preparation. Meeting opportunity I mean is that bears are so next day. We went southern sir, I he hired me now. My parents took me back to Colorado springs like scream in creating the whole way because my parents so there's no way in Hell, you're going to dance was at my age. We go to the show yes and then you're doing I'm coming here. Show right right. So there we're not having any of it and finally, the producer of the show kept com. We in calling my parents and- and I kept making my parents life living hell of course of running away and it through I just a horrible stuff and finally they signed. A document can assigned me over to LAS Vegas God, lawyers lawyer document to make it stop yet, and I went- and I just went there instead of you when I was just a day, I graduated from high school a grudge
when I was seventeen I actually Jim to my car and took off her Vegas started rehearsals for the show was fun. It was really buzz It was I mean I I couldn't go through the currents casino. I couldn't rank. I did all those things so, but I wasn't supposed to measure- and I want you dead, topless yeah, but you're crazy. You can dance less events, show you couldn't what's ring, you get your marriage taking out a low pay, and I feel that the most bizarre thing ever lilies biggest- I I don't think they do that. No! No! No! No, I think, probably not. I think if I don't do so, really great education. There really fast. You know and was Vegas back, and I mean this is how we can hold. I am back in the days of like the rat stuff ranks about her. Was there and ingenuity of those guy? Madame all it was ass. I went to Frank Sinatra as I think it is fifty a birthday party or something it is told. Jerk me
really was I hate the silence ass. You would you stories about what a horse? Oh yeah. Do you really don't have one? Yes, there you go there all true, but yeah. Maybe this meeting Sammy Davis Jr came to see the show a data really crazy thing when he was there. I I took you know he had a glass, so I had happened to have a glass eye that I just bought in Tijuana and glue at my nipple. I don't know just as they like as a little joke. God thought. Thank God. He thought it was the best thing. You never did that Sammy Davis Jr laugh. You know that that is not a thing
Oh my god, he came back stays and he thought it was the funniest thing. You know everything I thought I was gonna get fired because before he came back everybody in the show that was in the stage manager and everybody else came back and they were oh man. They were not happy mother. Once Serbia was ass, then it would like to thank God he thought was fantastic. So what I mean is nice guy he, he was the expense of a lot of rat pact, jokes, like they had a horrible things to him. They'll find nicer jokes. That was played a very David. Probably yeah yeah, he was kind of like their lu, LU, LU punching bag is best fantastic that if that is the little extra sauce, it's like at his person special. You know like they think outside the box a little bit. They would glue a glass eye to their nipple minor too. When you you have Winkle, unifil right now I do YO. I do this I've all three.
Last of all this it now. I only had one so we did this use that word, but anyway so fun things like that happening how long will that last one year well a year and three months, counting rehearsal? endemic contractors one year and by the end of a year, I really will really want to get the hell out of there and also Elvis had told me get out of here right, and so a couple of guys in the show we're moving to Paris to do a show- and I left with them and move to Paris, and so that was interesting. Note. Not you don't want to get too racy, but any hook up stories in Vegas someone through come on. You maybe choke on my wife, why one find hookup you well, perhaps you ve probably heard about.
The true story: it is true as the kind of yeah that was that I was a virgin, not dancing in the show. I was still a virgin. You're, not dancing in this show, I was still a virgin and ended up with Tom Jones. I kind of fool around with somebody from my town before, but apparently within full around good enough. Time is that many others have so yeah. My guide, the Eurogroup, attempt Jody Ass, I'm afraid. So now, that's that's surreal. As a temporary, like what did the hat, that's surreal as a temporary, like what is happening with my life. I mean one thing after another. Is a crime I don't know. I was kind of a bit of a groupie anyway had spent like my tenure
running all over the countryside chasing bans, but I was still a virgin that was really tricky part. I can't tell you how many hotel rooms I was kicked out of what is the name. I mean like Eric burden from Eric burden. In the animals will, then he was with war, like I took my car keys and put down his pants and I'm I'm like trying to get em and I'm going out I'm starting to call. It believes that, oh my god, just stories like that would ban. So when it came to Tom Jones for the same thing and the eldest son Jones their musicians. You know, is this music freak right and am now. Unfortunately, there was an element that ended up being Tom jail. I don't feel bad, I'm telling you, I pray you fucked up jobs. I thought I told you, I think,
I heard you did. You can put them away Wikipedia paid right now. This is now officially source year a year in Vegas and then did you do go directly West to LOS Angeles. No, I went to Paris, I went to Europe and that I was gonna, be in another big teenage show there. And it was then the Lido, I think the Lido they Perry on shown so easy, and I will rehearsing for that show and I hated it hated every second of it. The french girls did not. Like the back. There was an american girl and she was only teaching and they were all in their thirties and they made my life a living hell during were her soul, and I quit the French no now, knowing what and I moved to ITALY with another one of the show. Girls from my show she came over from for my shown Vegas she came over, we move.
ITALY started going around singing with it. We found a brazilian guitar player and, and we decided she with a start singing iron or that came from, and we start doing night, clubs and stuff, and there we started doing little parts and move is I met Federico Fellini anyway, then aroma started getting little bit parts indifferent movies like Leon revelation. Super was they'll revelation Genoa donor. I'm sure you ve heard of that when and then did that one and then got net this guy, who is a song writer who knew about a ban who was looking for a female front man, so and then up singing in this ban, and that was also due to Elvis, because Elvis when I was with him, we he asked play the piano. We step there. We sang together and he was still me? You know you have a decent voice. Yadda yadda get vocal lesson
you're very good, raising, go out in saying that I as ridiculous. I know I mean your life. Is I mean it's like you so many things already in your bed? eighteen. At this point I now I always tell people my life was so much more interesting than before. It came the game, Elvira, Bryn, calm down, because that was a pretty state yeah. I was that he had ordered gig and people think almost be so exciting to be over and it is and it has been, but my life was way whack here before just about getting too Elvira. You know well because I You were in growlings. I love her four and a half years. Yet so what how're you? Because at that time, getting into Improv Sketch Comedy is not like now. I feel like a thing that people do all the time: neither do we propose a ton of improved, but at the time was it a common thing to do. How did you even doing to do that? Why? comedy why grovelling yeah I did
even know what the Hell Improv was I'd, never heard of it and a couple friends of mine took me to see the groundlings went way way before their thereon. EL rose. Now they were down. I dunno near West Santa Monica somewhere and that they took me there and it was one of those things you were a kid: did you see something ago? That is what I want to do yes, what I wanted you to know. I ve been years ago when I was a kid: oh yeah, so you you got that that's just I didn't endeavours showgirl, though no visible success. You ever to unity, because they were very cool always going to have to show. They took me to cease the Martin. They took me to see Johnny Carson because you were into open so much now just hit me like that? I said I want to do that, whatever it is their doing, probably because they couldn't remembers
Epps ever remember lines that have been much better to do comedy sure and make it up as you go along here, and I've always been sort of ended mean funny. I know when I was a kid. I was teased alot about my scars. I had been in a way that the skull that with water I've been burned, stood thirty five percent of my body, skin grafting, so yeah yeah yeah, oh of our, only shows the good parts that dresses like fantastic. I got a guy. I know I didn't. I didn't know that when I was on the farm, I, my mother was boiling Easter eggs night. Somehow I was a year and a half old and climbed up and grabbed the boiling pot of water. The Dover on me. So it was very close calling
Amazing that I lived has generally back. Then. If you were burned over thirty five percent EU body, you didn't survive so they had just started using penicillin. Just it was like they. They gave it to me, experimentally and I made it through. So they move me to a big burn centre the city, so I had all the skin grafting. So when I was a kid I was always teased avow that re lent Leslie so the way it dealt with it was served self deprecating, humor, Schmid, jokes about it and then you know, is very close stand office in kind of a loner. When people called me a monster, something I'd, you know just laugh along with them, and so I think that's how I got in white really wanting to be a comedian. I do find it a lot of me, the other, no availing haven't you but allow, we're like teased for me,
in every way. We can easily get defence mechanism. Would you know how we will deal with life if they we didn't? Have that thing to at least deflect some of the hall things that have I mean yeah- that's really crazy. So in a way that hasn't happened, maybe none of this would have happened because you might have just not develop exactly. I think I say you know one of the worst thing that could happen turned into pro the best thing that could happen to me kind of fighting against that all my life. You know as a showgirl woods good. You see anyone I just luckily I was a year and a half old, I grew up to you know, be fairly tall and everything. So this can grafting really really smoothed out as this
colored well, but I had when in every night and our early had head to toe body make up as a real bomber. I had to go before everybody and have a woman put on like pans, take make up from head to toe, and then I could go on and do the show so basically just got rid of the discoloration when I was little have as much like more puffy in wrinkly sure, but then within your your developing, so much yeah, so to speak. The executive should address the law that much smoother and and yeah, I mean when you see people like you, know, Kane hotter, he's a friend of mine needs to be a stump man, and then he was Jason and he he was burned were recently, and because of that I mean he's got burned slip horrible because he was his full adult size you down there get better but have also had twenty one, twenty two's surgeries and on various parts of my image
knowledge, as you now is light years, are so much better now, but I started having surgeries to to get rid of some of the lump sum dances. The skin grafting. When I was probably twenty oh wow, and is that, if that went well, will ruin you can to the groundlings when I got to the growing the same, went by turning to allay of is probably too when he twenty five or six beginning a handful years in Europe in tooling around Europe warming men. So what made you decide to come to allay? I was performing a club in a show called fantasies of love of natural, gotta go about. How did you know the label club in Miami? Ghana may lay white gloves. I worked there for like six months as a dancer. I mean those currently worry cool thing
one point and then there are like happening and they were like we're. Harry lay really hot then- and this was on my Emmi Beach, which they know the this one didn't last long, but it was right next to the phantom blue. I am being very happening place so yeah. It was this big Paris review and now is the lead, nude and a singer, and I met this guy was a dancer singer in the in the show We fell in love and he NL. I am asked me to move back with them, so I did Anne Elliot was somewhere. I never wanted to go out on the wide eyed John they're, a vacation with my family and passengers that it was too big to scary. You know that it's amazing. How do you feel that, because of what you had gone through with with burn and also all the work you done up to that point. Did you become just really comfortable with your body? At that point I did. I went the opposite of that
Aren't you shy? I mean there is now a picture of me as as a kid worm not wearing a black turtleneck with long sleeved, rather care how hard it is outside wrote. I wouldn't I never learn to swim, because I wouldn't where swimming suit. I would not show of my body puberty struck and all of a sudden. I'm like take my clothes off I'm but although girl, when I was fourteen, so is dancing Little fringy, outfits and stuff and just young covering up the scars as best I could make up and I know I went completely opposite. Like I'm gonna show off my body, I don't know where they came from or whether you are going to try to figure that out. No, and I think it's, I think it's at least its own healthier than he's right, beating herself up and trying to hide being afraid of the world. Think it's about that for a long time. Yet I think it's a good. I think it's a good thing for people to hear who maybe have something that there its care about her stressed about or but maybe it's not as big a deal as they think it. A news Keller coming out in our hands that ok
hiding here four million years with my scars everything now, I'm just gonna go completely the opposite direction, to take my clothes and will now is it so he will do away with this. Because of this guy yeah did relationship last very long. It lasted for why we stayed friends forever the rest of his life. He died. Only boyfriends you're dead. All died, no get the wrong idea. Is it a while about a year, but even great does he was a singer in songwriter and he can introduce me to people and in the business everything. You know I mean he was a young guy struggling to, but we lived up. Would canyon and allow and a kind of a bow. He me in kind of area- and it was, is awesome, and I don't know I decided you know, I'm not gonna keep running off on tours, I kept leaving, I kept leaving even earlier when I had a bad cold mama, boys and we went around and toward for about almost two years.
All over the. U S and then finally said I gonna stay somebody somewhere. I had never stayed in one place, you know hardly longer than a year. For my whole life, so side of what stand alone. When I saw the groundlings I was going. This is it. This is what I want to do, I'm not leaving anymore. I'm gonna be broke as hell. I don't care, I'm just gonna stay here and concentrate on doing Kommeni Emperor note. Today you did you use its are taking the classes, yes and back then lucky, because if you paid the money you were in your groundlings now you know my god. You have to go through the generosity years is a major problem for all the classes is based s open and you have to be voted on, and you know, oh, my god. It can take people years and years to become a grounding right. Then it was, I carry. You got thirty five bucks, so that was there was awesome and there weren't there. Many people in the company there were
Lorraine Newman, had just left and want to do this brand new show called Saturday night live we're like well, I wonder whether you know how that can and then I was in width Hartman and and Paul Rubens, Peewee and John Aragon, who, who later became my writing partner, twenty one twenty five years, something like that, but all the people in the ground. There is an amazing how many people come out about them. Oh yeah, it's not exactly. I knew I knew all in Phil? I didn't know you were in with Paul and fill the whole time. Were you did you guys working as a team? Together we we did, we did live sketches that were together. Bela group sketches. Where that we were all in, I used to be fills girlfriend several times in chick hazard villain. I did a plague called Waco that we did with a few of the other groundlings
where I played his girlfriend and we wrote it in ways. We did it after. I liked the pee Wee Herman, shall we do it after the groundlings in the evenings on certain night and unfortunate, never quite took off like the sea. We shall probably because it was about poor Texas, white trash to his soul, drugs, but that gas villain? I did that together and- and I mean every night where we're doing sketches together with you know, John, Poland Me- and I definitely I was so close to and John bearing on and fill we were. I felt like I was the fourth musketeer there. I just love those guys. I worship them in they were kind of my idols than the show I mean they're allowed brilliant people in the show by I just honed in on them, and I just want to be with them. Every second cycle learn everything I could from them with our other, whether other characters that you thought. Oh
he's gonna be the thing that either breaks me out, or this is Paul's thing and then because those yellow Paul had a dozen a dozen freaking characters that, whereas good as pay, we in L A mean hit this J, long toe, it's so amazing, where he he just were loincloth and a giant native american head dress like for a chief and he danced on his toes and as the converse ten issues you dance has toes. While he smoked a cigarette and sang lounge songs, that's it was but he's been incorporated some of that into peewee. He did the dancing on. Let her do that us for that came from J long tail and he has had some other like Moses Feldman, who was like a cartoon the creator of Little Yehudi. Oh, my god, he had just unbroken characters,
I, on the other hand, really had no characters. I was not good at coming up with characters. I always played the bimbo, the showgirl, the hooker impatient at ninety biologists. Not of everyone here want to do other stuff than it didn't bother this kind of what I've been doing, all my life and they needed that character? You know they ate him. Enimont clerk couldn't plant somebody. We went there to do with this.
Was I remain with you guys have had left already, even though it s going out monopoly hunting and yes, yeah yeah. So we're all mind boggles too, because people relieving to go to tv shows with the word. So so yes there's somebody had to be the Groundlings sex symbol, and I think it was up to me, so I certainly filled avoid there that needed to be filled, but but I never came up a solid characters, but I did do this character. That was an actress and sort of a dippy valley girl character that the director of the local television, horror, hose, show, came and saw, and he loved that character. Tat was hilarious and invited me to come in addition for, horror hosting gig and the local tv channel, and he said I want you to do that character. You doing I go, but that this that's like not horror that that doesn't go with the USA, now does
You know just as great as does do that. I end up getting the Parthenon egos now come up with a look that scary, and so I do that character is invaluable. And I were blacken Eugenia they'll be great. So anyway, I didn't. I thought I really didn't have much faith that it was gonna go past like a week. You know I really didn't would then became famous instantaneous kind of guy I'm you know this week or two, and I was like getting invited on that tonight. Johnny carson- and I too take my name out of the phone book. Can you believe in you my name and a number in the phone book and back then that's why you did that the greater number? If you pay a little bit extra, they haven't. I listed number- yes, I don't even know you could then, but you know what I wanted to be in the phone book, so people could call me for acting jobs.
Yeah. It was crazy, so I mean I remember I was living in Memphis at the time, but I remember when I first solve IRA was probably When did it's, it's did its indicate right away or did it today? No, it was about so bad timing, there's two or three years before I came to an end. Maybe, if I'm remembering about I started to show and eighty one and then I think this indication thing came out about eighty three. But but before this indication thing came out, I had made several appearances on national tv right. Like chips, I was struck her ass with Bert role as it has, and all these little part soup
started wondering what the hell is that right and then about the cores campaign, which, although, of course campaign didn't pay a lot. It got me really great national recognition and that's kind of how it got the syndicated show. So we will do open it up to the whole rest, the country, so that was pretty evasive. It Elvira was sort of the recipe for it had been brewing with everything that happened to you up to that point that if anything was even slightly different, that wooden of happened up nine hours to get his, I did and then becoming a show girl and getting improv trade like every. I know it just and- and I really didn't know where it was going- it didn't have at any kind of hard and fast plan I was going. I know I went to the centre of attention dammit just like when they were thrown pennies at me, and I was thinking how much is a dog in the wind.
You never know, I'm sure you're, really bizarre picture in my new book, the IRA without the dark work, but I'm issue while we were, it is gorgeous copied. Even think you think you, while we were putting this together. I showed Chad, Coal Bank, who put this thing. I chant I showed him a picture that my mom sent to me and she said Remember this nice had no. I was five years old. She made me this this black, an orange, create paper dress and she asked me what I, to go. As for Halloween, and I said to my mom went: what was I supposed to be as she goes? You wanted to be the queen of hallowing, oh, my god. That's phrases, I mean so look. There was not resolved at world. It was far too I mean how desires, and then you became the queen of how it came to me. I mean it. I always wonder with
like with the character like a virus or even for being only peewee for policies are a certain point where you feel trapped in the cafeteria, like I'd really loved to do other stuff, but it's such a good fun. Gig idle. You know like what's the balance I went through a little period of down the beginning where I was thinking. I should do other stuff too, and you know the do other characters to other parts as myself, and then the reality is that, first of all, I own the character. Pee wee owns his character right, that's a whole different, Barbara, huge you're, not one of the monkeys, there's something or you know in star wars trying to go out and sign autographs, and you can't even keep all the money right. You know year you, on everything, and so how did you engineer that, while that it was I'd of an accident. But
Luckily, might my two managers at the time kept? Well, we kept asking for more money from cage day every year and they were so cheap. That was the locals India, they were so cheap. They wouldn't give me more money, so us making like three hundred three fifty dollars weak and but they said we civil. Could we at least have the rights to do a fan, club and suggest sure so they signed off the rights are frankly later we said: could we have the rights to be another tv shows sure sure you can have that in Europe we have the rights to like make life its products, okay and before they knew what they signed all the rights. The way I would never have now never, but, as you know, is so so lucky it happened because they lost their licence not long after and am Archeo General had a big something about illegal content. Instead, the mixing campaigners and they lost a bunch of their stations engage day was one of the ones that was lost and when in bankruptcy in the Elvira character,
have gone into bankruptcy, probably never to be seen again, you know. So what would you do? Did you just so? Did you John remember, I lay station about point. No, we lets you stayed in the state, a cage, chaise shooting in everything until we did this indicated showing that played out for about five to seven years. But then my movie came my movie came along and after we did, the film Elvira missed mistress of a dark. We sort of adding go back to hosting horror movies, I'd really kind of had it with that with a hosting I loved it. I want to do it later and I did in a lot of video collection, sure and I've done it since Senate small syndicated scale and Hulu last year in different things, funding the movies is the hard part sure that no one that was it. I was out of here. Today that was the end of the real. You know them old horror hosting days, which I really miss. I really love doing that. Have you ever given talks on?
the grower business I mean it. I have you have you did a big speech? Forget pain, everything to talk to this Disney. They had all the people working at Disney and went in and gave a talk about how to build brands I mean: have you ever thought about baby making that available to the relative? I mean that is it. You cannot deny the fact that you know thirty five years, this character is so much a part of our culture. Now, and you did that so you know I mean. I think that story is really interesting and I think, would probably benefit a lot of people who are looking to day. I do too because I think I have some pretty good advice. I think so. That's good you put that out. There maybe they'll start call, and I mean you could just do it again. If you could just do it the agreement, if you'd need someone to do it, you can. You know
You could get a seminar like Tony Robins or something well, let me nor so or something like that. Yeah work, that it did, that that would instruct people who have like some sort of a creative concepts, even if it's not a character but some sort of creative concept. And how do you you know, obviously there's a little bit that's. I know you can't control right, but am desolate some of its luck some of it. Some of his dead there's definitely ways to go, and I didn't give you and things not to do it s less luck in the world when people think I think when you really sort appeal back the layers, you realise that some seem like luck. Was there the fruit of ups of seed that you maybe on justly planted through chosen, I'm actually with you on that. I actually argue with people and stay in a sound like not humble, but I say I don't think there's any such thing as luck honestly, issues as lucky, he was lucky in a year ready the timing,
right, if you are prepared, I mean I'd, been a dancer and then taking dancing lessons since I was three years old when and then been go vote the answer, you think. So when that biggest thing came along could have come over and stay. Haiti know how to dance negative, never days before you know it now would have in the end there or you could say yes, I'm at the answer. I knew how to dance the most case. I think you do make your own look. I do I do at its things kind of reveal along the way, but if you hadn't made all those choices up to that point, it wouldn't it, wouldn't they wouldn't yeah. Exactly like that. Like one one example, as I got, I was walking down the street in Rome and Federico Fellini was shooting his movie Roma and people go on me how lucky, without that you ran into him and you actually, I was walking down the street, and this guy's Stuart Burn bomb came up to me
Stewart had made a documentary about showgirls in Vegas when I was there and I had been in the documentary and he was there and he was a student director with Fellini and he came running up to me and my other friend who was a showgirl also. You know that I do. Not that came with me over to Rome and he came running up and said: hey only nationalist, Burma. Remember me: we may that documentary and then he said dud Mr Fellini really do I and he took me over there and and Fellini said to me: oh my god, you look like my my wife, Juliet A and was really young and he said you know. Would you like to work in the
Lord invoke. Yes, sure. Why will you please come not this year again, I don't know how you finally regulating nowadays guiding believers is one of the nicest guy that really know and none of the monkey business there that he was awesome. But but you know it was, it was I gladly law- I walk down. The street Fellini runs out of a store anyway. I have been my film. You know it was the result of the little preparation things that have happened. I don't know it wasn't a lot coincidence and how did because nature of the virus character and also you know at particularly at a time when I imagine women had less backed? How are you navigating the business in how're you, you know like you.
Empire, lady with the boot, I'm smart. New and how do you? How do you have a gate. All of that, during that time period, yeah judge during the environment, shower it yeah it. It has been tricky because the boobs are big part. While their couple a big part of the American Arthur, then I wouldn't trade them for the world? I love them. I made my whole entire life out of them. There are like my best friends really army in every job. I've ever had they dependent bended on my boobs kind of you know, you're so trying to just get across the men that you have a brain. Even that you had a head because they don't even look right below you know above my neck has been really difficult. They just keep kind of its kind of very over
Thank you just keep sort of ploughing ahead. Like me, fuck you and you just keep going ahead. I don't care what you say. I'm still gonna do this and end the guys that I mean a lot of really slimy guys don't. You know, and I will add, the audition guy stood behind. His destiny was wearing no pan, but it's not like that they they figure. Oh she's. Coming in there were that you know she got that kind of cleavage. She must be a slut right and I think, proving to people that you're, not you know just because you are showing off your assets right. I think other women really appreciate that, because, because women have to go through this crap overtime, worse, I mean every time you to her. Look sexy so double edged. Sword! Sexy means stupid right, it's great that their women out there now who I talk about like the I have a huge gay following, and they know what did they love so much about Elvira. I think I see. Maybe
same thing. They like about Madonna or share its a woman who is sexy but strong and doesn't take any crap from guys. There are just a few out their otherwise you. You have to look like Margaret Thatcher if you're smart, or really race sexy than your Kim Kardashian around. There is between place where you can look sexy Andy, Smart, right, well, or lazy, you know- and I ll show you just put you anything at all right at exactly right. There just lazy, it's just lazy Emily, like I think the most offensive being one of the most offensive things about. That is that it's just like it's just not giving a person individual consideration for just being the individual that they are. Let go you this and this you know exactly, and you know, especially in high school you or your big boobs you're, a slut right is automatic in. I think I was the only virgin that group
He waited for. My icicle really really managed to hang onto your rigidity as a Vegas showgirl for awhile with spectacular ridiculous. I know insane kind of, but now that you're just branded like You know because of your body I mean I really woke up, and I was fourteen puberty happened. I just how these giant boobs it was like they were overnight the and change everybody's opinion about men generally, not an agreed, well sure you know I was made fun of and pushed around and shoved by girls at the school for your eyes, I wanted to jump. You basically Rizzio make fun of you, no matter what it was. It was. I I just want to get the hell out of school. I really hated by years of school age, city, kids, you stand school, though I do mean it, but I had a hard time. It was nothing good thing for me and I flung drama drama. The dry
a teacher tries to put the make. I knew you'd Enzo men, an f grow gives you know, because you mister Osborne yeah there you're dead, Mr Ass, we're not alive anymore. Minister has more your way, then I think so, probably so. What are some of the things that just like you know nickel bits of advice that you would give people who have a thing, that they want to grow and how? How do you know how we think that they want, and yet there are likely to have our creative thinking right about greater brand building thing like some of the same view of things they will. Yeah! No! I know exactly what I am working parents. We know this guy. Are there? Ok, I think my best piece of advice sort of it about a brand or an unusual like like building a character that you could then build upon,
the chinese menu direction. Here's what I do you pick one from column a and one from column B, and that is what accidentally happened with me when, when I developed the Elvira character, I didn't set out to do that, but the director saw me in this wacky valley girl. Did see actress character and then he said, but you have to wear a spooky. Look at your outfit. Those two things together, I thought were the worst idea ever and I was sure, was- can be cancelled after the first week turned out to be a brilliant idea, because if I had gone in and they told me we want you to be this spooky character, the host horror movies. I know I would again in an dunna like
men dialing drink a glass of black, we're about you, and I would have done that cause. They go you're a whorehouse. The fact that the guy wanted that other character, but then when it does look made a completely unique character sure. So now this is about at developing characters. You know, but sky like just think outside the box. Don't do in our really pick pick one thing: over here, put it with a look or something that just doesn't seem to go together at all and all of a sudden, your unique and try to own it I own accurate, don't sell your thing right, yeah yeah! Exactly so I mean I that's come my destiny. Saying give on coming up with the character and building one year. Paul is a little peewee as a little bit that way, and it is this some child man yeah. He acts like a child, but he wears a suit new tie and is
grow Nan yeah do put those two things together is tabling a mash up. He said the centre is, isn't I agreement by the well we're already sent? It was hilarious. It is you know the paintings, the hundred mansion that follow you yeah, because that, like the faces firelight is there like? Thirdly, these concave paintings and the shadows were yeah. You sent us a statue and it was that, but it was of Jesus It says Jesus is watching you, so you then that when you turn out as have ours, you I've seen. I wonder if he gave you his personal one, his own personal Jesus, or if he knows my eyes, you another elderly brandy was also gave us these two little books. One was rules for husbands from like nineteen fifteen. Rules for wives. Fifty now you just have to swap the very amusing that industry address one of the rules, while I feel really crappy. Now, because I didn't send you anything, no, you don't listen. You know,
you what I'm giving you that's. Why you're giving me a book and you have no idea how delightful it was to me a you had any idea who I was and b that you weren't. You know that I saw your robs birthday couple years. The girl we hung out for a while it? No one was paying attention to the amazing beetles cover band which we're friends how they re aren't they have all my daughter was dancing to them. She was the only one, never heard her friend dancing to them and everybody else was in the other room in the other room that ban Goody Levant like every era of the veto, and they look like, and they let me know is amazing, but I still I stole like if you ever. If you send me a direct message on Twitter, she really most, unlike all Elvira message mechanism. It so great. Thank you pardon in our culture third World year. I mean this and the thing that's great about over. I mean do you? Do you ever think? Why don't we
I think I've done her enough. I don't know I want to do her anymore, or do you still like? I still like doing in everything. I think there is gotta, be a next raising date, there's somewhere before I get really like God, Lunger Historic now. Would you tell me when that happens, carries no, never never down, but he's gotta tell me it's not gonna virus macaroni like the dread pirate. That's right, where you ye. I hope not You pass on the oh. Well, I tried that didn't really work. No, you did yeah well. I had this show you mean passing on. Try another prison. I had this search for the next Elvira, which was my brilliant idea to get. A new Elvira, her and then we got one and she look good and good actors and we tried to foist are often parades in the Midwest than
and an unfortunate nobody wanted her. You know it's just not, and I think it's just so, uniquely you, someone just has to come up with another thing: yeah, I'm afraid, so they have to do their own thing. I think a rebirth. We're dal said that someone pitched him where now, let's do it is about so for the next we're dahlias. Like I'm the current one. I don't. Why would I do that? Why would I help you find by replacing that's the worst idea? Every year I was thinking it was a great idea. I actually thought what would be a good idea is to have a bunch of l virus that I've been sent out to malls at Halloween and that people got to take their picture, like you know, within sitting on their land Santa Claus that we know that you have course. I can't fly around malls doing now, having people sitting in my lap and tell me what they want to know, but I think it's not an ill viral. Maybe it's like an l, Clara now I guess it's like up like a class or like a class of them. You
I put them in a viral training school things, so you don't think I'll virus any kind of a magical creature you mean and where she can from her what she was how do set it up in my first movie that her mom was a sorceress to have sorceress who had powers now that your dad was a mortal a tv critic right and that that's says how little you got. One foot in the MAGIC world yadda that young people are a thing, is sheer vampires or the like. What the Hell's he really with that. We just additives. She does have a little a little magic edge can happen. So what is what is? The book is basically a pictorial history. It is, Love writing this kind of book, because I didn't have to write it suddenly. Pitchers yards allotted yes just like pictures from my entire career, starting the very getting and going through too
Currently only my last further session, which was just probably a few months ago and the same kind of how the character programme and how in our countries, aged over the years a little bit and there are now it's kind of us. The guys are going to have ours, have fun with organised like snakes before you and I are wrapping, I did when I was a little kid. I had snakes all the time I love snakes, my dad was always catch and snakes wormy really I always loved them, and a fan gave me that snake when it was like size of a pencil and an income, Dick to be like thirteen feet long and earlier, and I had to be given to a zoo because you get too heavy and too big to handle
did they put a donated by Elvira plan. I don't think they did. What always yes complacent Valley Cover sneak pit anyway, I actually got covers, by the police are different story. Was a different story goes like. I didn't really give it when it is the book out now I've got my work is out starting. Dial voting today yeah yeah October bed? That's the day of the bombing of all the book is currently available. That's right and I'm out it not scary fire during my shows every night and Emma signing the book there in between shows believing that's fantastic. I didn't work well when it is not very firm. Stand weakens it's Thursday, Friday Saturday, Sunday, ok, great and I M out there doing tissues, night dancing and singing Sheila dancing and singing funding came in handy, dancing, singing and telling jokes. You have to come here and I would love to please
we learned to Disney cause, they did all their hallooing stuff. We went to universal horror, knights and you haven't been the knots and no, we gotta come to not really I'm telling you nuts really has honesty. I've been too the others and I swear. I know I work there, but not really does have the best Halloween haunt, because it been around for so many years. Yet he building on it announces it maize's or there are wholeheartedly as like thirteen maize's, and then there is the whole park itself is a super spooky in creepy and they have a million monsters online. I will definitely come it's my family and I it's Halloween is our favorite. I love you that you are now I want you to. I want to have you over to our house, because we have Lydia, collects horror, stuff dumping on, so we have like original gremlins
good, Lord and in an exorcism dummy allows upon by a tiny crap for you guys. Ok, I'm not through my storage. Isn't that I get started yelling and let us be rid of all that stuff that you will take any kind of weird horse now. Will you met the right girl then, since they can help win free? I got very lucky. I get very lucky your people would say like which would you gonna do with all of you your taxidermy and unlike no, she has we're taxidermy we're the exact same year. The perfect We are the Berber couple desk and has even have to be with somebody like that for, sake? Oh yeah, it would be a huge bummer regimes like enough germinal tourists, family made him get a separate house for his stuff. Like get all so we had to buy a separate house. Ro? I wish I could do that, I'm the one that tells her like you got it.
Slow down we're running out of room for all the stuff she's buying fucking werewolf heads from laying my again what I just got from the Prob store and weak or no word, and we have no more room with a reactor units to be a problem. Then you end up like me with nine million storage units out in the desert. God we collection, I've thought thought about it. Just matter of getting people out there did. I was just bitching about earlier with Chad like if you want to find something you have start unloading from the front in an ignoble right re days with three people like get something in the back where when when is there, I mean obviously not this year, because you're working have nots, but where They're gonna, be like an L viral Elvira world, like an alibi, error, walk through
a whole parkers high. We keep talking about that. I keep talking about it with knots and I don't think I know that there are really get on the bandwagon with that, but I always think there could be no year round. Halloween thing kind of theme, Elvira, section of a park I mean the two most popular rides at at disneyland- are on a mansion and the tower terror. Europe does your round, which is treating only Alex later, have excuse people say to me as well as this: how are we gonna like that? It's fun, you listen but would enjoy your round than they would super enjoy, did Halloween exactly getting to getting out o out. Do Do you like my check, I see or passing out Would you like to read this note to the entire class I'll read it? Where can you buy my book? I would imagine anywhere. Books
Old Amazon, not Amazon Data, yet I would admit it well. They coming up where it where it, whereas the well. I will be a barn and noble signing them this month. Also, next month this month, the twenty six October, audio books, signing it Barnes and nobles at the Grove Great also it's on a viral dot com and twitter had not come twitter head, Twitter had Diana who are awesome. They they ve made my last three or four mac- hats format, cats that are a spectacular. You know, a sideshow puts them out. You know Lydia little like eating and high statues and therefore untested and that this is first on their first for it the publishing we'll both gorgeous. Thank you. Yale virus dot com sign up order that damn thing today, yeah, please do airy. Reasonably price must stay as forty four ninety five Emmi. Really. Wouldn't you expect to pay? What did you expect pay Chris?
pray like nine hundred thousand dollars have exactly but we have today forty foreign five yogurt Gatt, this bottle. We're trying to drag out very well promoting Israel like. Why did I agree Do this job I gotta go to New Vicki during was ever a promotion at you regretted we're like all this was too much out when a date with Elvira. Oh God, what have I done? Pills enter already wife, yeah when a date with Elvira, and it was like something that universal sponsors, something when I was working for Pepsi and I went to date in this. This guy. I won the day with gives to bring a friend along, and I brought thank God, my public,
There is no need, yet any exactly should have. Has security team, because the guy that one and his friend were like from some me base in the south somewhere and they were twenty one years old and we went to this fancy. Restaurant in Beverly Hills and the next thing No, this guy is standing on the table. Yelling. Die when everybody and I'm just like. I don't know why you know, thank God, that he is on a table drunk on his ass out of his mind and he and his friend are knocking shit over and knocking people's tables over and stick to bull in a China shop, and I excuse myself to go the bathroom and my
listen. I ran out back doors so fast that members have about half way through the dinner we got. There was a nightmare. I won't be doing that again, and he knows I gotta get ideas. Do not make yourself a prize to the general move. We know that no bad idea back back in the day with that. That would be a super idea here, not summit, and how is the highest social media bit? How embrace social media have virus help. Yeah me I mean, I know what you're trying to say How is the virus help social media know? How did they had it? Wouldn't want social media began to evolve? Did you immediately see let go? This is a great way to. I didn't really realize it at first I mean just when people started going home computers. You know initiative. Is that with this, but I so. We have to thank the home computers and social media really forgiving Elvira new life, because I think I had just been tell
vision and carried on- and I didn't have a show on tv- the character would have gone by, and so I think without you know, people can go and down load stuff on Youtube in everything is see, only old shows see things in it keeps the character lie for sure and with social media. I can get the stuff out there that I'm here because I don't have a weekly tv show- and I never have I will I had, but but it was a very small scale. It was covers on ABC ears. Cbs share this millions. People watching so has been kind of a do it yourself project. Do you like that that has always been doing you're so projector on one hand, I do I mean it gives you a lot of freedom to do what you want. If you were own, if you were doing it on a network, is writing. They would just be like now now now now I know so yeah it's a double edged sword. I dont get the bucks red people like you, get
no, but I do I'm all things in my way I went to. We are always they dragged as I really it's like. A small kind of mom and pop business. Only on the mom and pop rethink that were has helped, contribute to it. Because I don't know it's such a directive, which is so it's organically grew, and it was so so much a part of our media like when I first saw Elvira. If I felt like I was in on some special. You know like really special or seeing is correct, but but but something that you know they're just felt like all this is for me. This is exactly for me and I think if it had originally been presented in a big flashy way, yet I don't know if I would have been is open to it. I think that cheesy nest of it and the cheapness of it the way it was filmed in over dollar fifty really
and make people think she's gotta be filming, listen in Mississippi somewhere in a garage and arrived, and I still to this day meet people who say: oh you did the local horror hosting show in that Shreveport murder in Louisville or, and they honestly think I did it there it out, because it looks so happy. They couldn't possibly believe it had been done in Hollywood yeah. So I think the choosing this in the cheapness of it really did translate to people as this is for me- and you know another thing I always did that. I absolutely it won't even change to this day. I directed everything at one person. I'd always say hello, darling out at people now write things go darling, snugness, never darlings is one person darling, I'm talkin
You, and only you and I talked to the camera like it- is one person sitting there alone watching me and end up those kind of a little trick. I had that. I didn't want to change that. I think it really translates to people like she's talking media specifically yeah yeah, that's it that's a subtle little hosting thing that really does make a difference in Africa. In especially now, people are really watch tv in groups yeah, nothing much anymore. Unless the debates, I guess where you are you're wonderful, a b, the book is gorgeous and people should by the virus, was the darkness and also to see you and that's dairy farmers. They haven't realise angels, and yet please come over to the house Simon going right now would love to have you over for dinner. I will not stand on the table and shouts, because your wife will be there. What, if she'd sit on the two are you not southern? Why you and I
but I really hope you consider the idea of more seminars are making something available to people about. You know this. This brand building our idea being over this, this creative nurturing programme. I feel it I could create something that would be of great value to people. Dear well, that that is definitely you just put like the Lula seed and I had a drastic idea ass. Thank you so much his age group, wonderful to see everything you Adam, where we and the show by telling people to ensure we we say, enjoy your burrito, it's something we say to people at the end of ever show. Would you would you please take us out. Hello darling and enjoy your burrito all the time, but now leaving no, Dot com enjoy your worried.
