What is Joe Biden do what Democrats do when it looks to a lot of people from the outside, like they then actually more progressive inside the Congress? I think it's true than did. The democratic party is moved lack, not quite as far as the Democratic Party as the Republican Party is moved right. I think you know the question here is
there are popular policies on the left and I think divide administrations approach is to pursue those popular policies and not pursue.
Somebody more unpopular ones, except where they see them is necessary. So something like you know each hour,
which deals with voting rights is very important, because republican state legislatures are working very hard to disenfranchise or to attempt to disenfranchised democratic constituencies in a way that is going to make make it very hard for pandemic

correspondent Julia aimlessly good morning to you about Julia. Let me start with you, as you ve been reporting on this for so long leading up to where we are right now how bad is the cry,
this is the mortar. What are the numbers look like this morning,
well. We just learned yesterday Willie that, as of this weekend, there were over four thousand unaccompanied children in border patrol custody, those
the situations conditions not made for children,
I they don't even have a bad. The lights are kept on twenty four hours a day,
the key member here really. We understand that nearly three thousand of these children have been kept past: the three
legal limit. Why,
they are. Why are they backed up because health, it human services, is not it
to bring on new beds fast enough to get them out of those concerned,
but they're working hard and finding new facilities as we speak so use. What we heard from the White House, as you know, is if they inherited a terrible situation from Donald Trump. That may be true in part, but it doesn't get at the problem today
So what is the White House doing how much attention they giving this crisis with the White House says that there are essentially scrambling to go.
This under control there trying to look for new facilities looking for new places to try to house these children, but as you just noted that, while this is a problem that the Trump administration they would say, really gave them in hand,
There is also an issue that is now happening on their watch. These children, according to reports into lawyers that I've talked to you and others talk to these children arc, are crying their terrified they're saying that their not being let out for sunlight for days at a time. So what you have here is still a very, very tough situation the by
administration now needs to contend with, and we have not still been allowed in a lot of these facilities. Allow the media request to do right along to be inside these facilities to try to interact with these children to really get a first hand account from the media's perspective too. To really report on this have been denied, and I think that that situation is in some ways really untenable. So I think what we see, there's a white House and saying give us a little bit of time.
Wrapper or arms round the problem, but this is an urgent problem with young children, I'm at the centre. So this is something that I think the White House is easy,
really scrambling to understand and ended. Do something about Julia reporting on that point, exactly about access to the media, to what exactly is going on right there? What
the binding administration doing and how are they gagging? According to some sources, border patrol.
That's right. I mean your niece lays it out, there's a lot of frustration about access during this critical time, and I started digging around and talking to some border patrol officials who say
they now have to run everything even the local request through why,
in ten. It's part of a more centralized media strategy, similar to what,
would have seen under the Obama administration, but they're really frustrate.
With it now, especially coming from a previous administration, where they were born

That is changed, but just a couple things that we're not getting now that we

and Julia. How unusual is that I mean if it had been the trumpet administration. We'd be rightly outrage that there were lacking.
Information, not in a very important story, so
Does this suggests that they have something to hide at the border?
You know I spoke to someone his work through the past three administrations, who said really they're going back
