Episode 1101: Making the Biggest Decisions by Tynan on Decision Making Skills & Resilience

Tynan was named as one of the top 25 best bloggers in 2013 by Time Magazine. He believes in making deliberate decisions and breaking away from the herd mentality. He likes learning new things, building habits, exposing the world, connecting with awesome people, and creating good work. The New York Times Bestseller “The Game” featured him as one of the main characters, as he was one of the most famous pickup artists in the world. In 2008, he sold everything he owned and went on an extended world trip, becoming a fervent minimalist. Fun facts: he’s a college dropout, was a professional poker player, Courtney Love was his roommate for 9 months, and he once built a swimming pool in his living room.

this is optimal living daily episode eleven o one making the biggest decisions by tightening of time and dot com and i'm just a moloch like the guy that reads recent day of the year including weakens and holidays toby optimize your life taste both being from tine in before we get to are we getting my vitamins and supplements from care of its a monthly subscription vitamin service that a brace out your vitamins daily into individual packets am personally tailored to your exact needs and ends of costing like twenty percent less compared similar brands and for twenty five percent off your first month personalized care of vitamins just visit take care of dot com and enter the promo code old thus a goat well d for twenty five percent off your first month at take care of dot com i'll tell you more about how that works after the reading so for now let's get to today's posed as we are the mind your life
making the biggest decisions by time and have time and dark come i wondered right opposed about making the biggest decisions before doing so i thought i got down from a mine and look for commonalities was surprised me most was how few too pictures of this magnitude there were depending on aware set the bar by probably only made ten huge decisions in my entire life i made the first about twenty years oh so i make one every two years here some of what i consider to be the biggest decisions dropping out of school i to travel around the world for an extended period of time moving to las vegas as well as other moves living in an hour v focusing entirely on pick up one or two years and getting married it is interesting to realise how few there were especially while keeping in mind the enormous changes they made in my life in other words
even higher leverage denied subconsciously consider them to be you may be super is that something said aren't on that list i consider my group real estate purchases to be relatively small decisions while they ve had it impact none of them work huge investments or difficult to decide i don't count starting or stopping various businesses because i just assume that if i didn't start crews sheet for example i would start something else and those decisions are also easy i'm not actually married yet so we can to scale down for the sake of discussion if you're it with my work though you probably know about the others they were all pivotal points in my life that radically changed my results it is of course impossible to know of any of them were the right decisions to me they feel like they are because i'm a hundred percent satisfied with my life and all of them were major contributors but perhaps if i didn't travel something
better would have happened during that time hard to imagine but i would have never imagined my life as it is anyway the thing is this is always how these decisions are you never know whether you made the right ones more not less important to be comfortable with that because if you aren't then you will be scared to make the decisions big decisions can be scary and that's how there sometimes supposed to be part of the skill and making these decisions is being comfortable with that discomfort and having faith in yourself to make the best of them the biggest mistake i see people make with big decisions ironically is thinking too much about them around half of my more time sensitive and would have been more difficult or impossible if i deliberately too law in the same way that debt insidiously siphons money out of your bank account without you really noticing excessive deliberating savings away your years i think we all know plenty of people who stay at a job or in a relationship for years to long or wasted years to start a project or make a move
should have done years ago if you look at my list my literally did not take more than a data think about any of the bay decisions i made my always had an i got my head that i'd probably drop out some day but i did it on the same day that i see is it considered it for the first time about my place in vegas the same day i found it even without seeing it within fifty minutes of seeing a spot open up in the project hollywood pick up house i committed to move the first time i feel and i talked about getting married in the near future we set a date months out i tried very hard to come up with the biggest that i consider to have worked out poorly i can't think of any because as i can come up with a few investments are made but overall my vestments have drastically outpaced market and as an egg pro gambler and as the nature of the game that not every bet will pay off i can however two times where i made a mistake by not making a decision fast enough there were relationships
i knew should ends but i put off by months there are several businesses should have started early or end in more quickly this isn't how much about me as much as it is about the nature of these sorts of decisions with the right attitude and a little bit of grit i think that very few of what we see its biggest decisions actually end up poorly in most cases these decisions fit the mould of having very large potential upsides and very small potential downsize we often more scare of the uncertainty of the situation we are with actual worst case scenario for example it might be scary to draw back thing and travel around the world but at the end of the day you can always fly back if it turns out is not for you move pay a plane ticket or two more than he should have if it is for you and maybe you ve changed your whole life focusing on pick up is the one from my lestat perhaps the biggest potential downside if it didn't work out
given up a year or two of productivity and what it felt like an idiot which is probably the more visceral an emotional downside the upside was enormous though while some alternative as our unclear i'm completely certain that i will not be in as good a relationship with as excellent of a girl as i am now i simply do not exist we also find that person let alone keeper a fund until bargaining life is the trading of discomfort for gain we all do it in the most asshole among us doing a lot with the asymmetry of big decisions having huge tangible potential upsides verses moderate fear based emotional downsides is in how to build a habit and skill of taking the less comfortable path eventually to the point where your condition to enjoy the discomfort because you associated with an eventual reward this happen quickly but it does happen and when it does it make even faster progress because these biggest decisions become hills rather
then mountains you just listen to the post titled making the biggest decisions by tightening of time and dot com so recently tried out care of its our monthly subscription vitamin service made from effective quality ingredients and personally tailored to your exact needs ninety percent of people all short of fda guidelines for at least one vitamin or nutrient so i took their fun online quiz which asks about your diet health goals and lifestyle recommendations are based on clinical research in from doctors and nutritionists you'll get a thirty day supply with individually raft packets with your specific vitamins in them each package as a little factor quote on them is really nice super convenient and the price ends up being
