Usaa Ainsley fourteen attorneys General Ainsley fourteen attorneys general calling on Fiewn President Biden, reverse his decision to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline. Writing. We write with alarm regarding your decision. The real world costs are devastating. They say they may take legal action now. Georgias attorney General Chris Carr signed the letter and he joins us now, whats your biggest concern for your state, and can you take legal action well im concerned, because this was a political reward for those that supported the Biden, Slash Harris Administration and its political symbolism, thats going to have real world impact in the form of higher fuel costs, for families and for businesses in Georgia and around the country, its going to disrupt industries like ago a culture which is our number one industry in Georgia and manufacturing and consumer products, but the biggest impact
its going of have is to have is jobs that were going to be created by this particular project: ten thousand construction jobs, forty two thousand direct and indirect jobs as a result of this thats families that are going to be devastated by the decision to pull this permit. Ainsley I found out this morning that all these celebrities, dozens of celebrities, including Cher and Jane Fonda and Joaquin Phoenix, have written a letter to the president to ask them to shut down the Dakota pipeline. When you hear the stories of all a these people that are out of work, cant pay for their daughters, school hotels are shut down, losing money on gym member ships because the workers are leaving. Why would the celebrities say this? I dont know this is real world impact. This is not just politics when you start seeing families that are impacted by this, but also Ainsley. This isnt, an issue where we in the United States have done a great job of becoming more energy
independent and if this pipeline gets shut down instead of dealing with one of our great allies and trading partners in Canada were going to be relying more on crude from Russia and from Venezuela and from the Middle EAST. So I dont understand it because this is going to impact folks here at home, real families, real jobs, it doesnt, make any sense. Ainsley prices at the pump are going to go up too. Even if youre, not in one of the states, thats affected by it or you dont work on a pipeline before the pipeline was shut down before it was halted, the construction was halted, it was expected to bring eleven thousand employments would have included eight thousand plus union workers. One point: six billion is expected in gross wages, a lot of money being lost, a lot of people affected, and the Biden administration says. Investments in infrastructure will create millions of good union jobs here in America. Would a better solution have been to if he wants to shut down the pipeline first come up with these alternatives and
then put those people to work there or just not shut down the pipeline. I mean those are real jobs today. What theyre talking about is theoretical jobs that they havent produced. They have no plan for so again, this was a safe, reliable project that was going of to employ people. Now again, this is political symbolism that has dramatic real world impact and it isnt right. Ainsley attorney General Carr.
