for a listener. So let's hear who is a militia, and how did you get to where you are today?
well what I do today is. I am power people to unlock their full potential
to leave their best life, and I do that is through a lot of different mediums. Like you, I have my podcast. I have my best selling books, and
online platform, where I have mentoring programmes and ebooks and meditations, and things like
and an obviously social media is an amazing platform to be able to help
women rise up. So that is the premise of everything that I do
the universe tapped me on the shoulder many years ago and said you ve gotta, help women you ve got
be a voice and you ve got to do that through these different avenues, and I listened, but I haven't
always done this
then there's so two thousand and two
Hen was when this journey began for me at the very end of two thousand and ten, and that began in hospital. So before that I was
It was a professional dancer and I dance
did the mule and version Paris, and I did acting and tv presenting and for me
I love to being on the stage like I started dancing when asked three years old, and I just love that that's what I
thought I was gonna do for the rest of my life, but I got
to a phase in my life. In my earlier light team
an early twenties where
I was deeply unhappy
within my own body and
This resulted in anxiety and panic attacks and depression and eating disorder, and I
started to have a very destructive relationship with myself. I was
hardy and surrounding myself, with very
unhealthy relationships and very toxic men and
burning the candle at both ends and
is only a matter of time before you know. Something's gonna give when you
treat your body like that, and you treat yourself like that and for me the universe gave me
lots of little warning signs which I ignored for many years until it was lack right,
Melissa, if you're, not gonna, listen and wake the heck up to your full potential them
we're gonna have to make you and the way that
universe made me was by putting me in hospital with a whole host
health issues that you can read about in my first book. Mastering your main guy went boy,
them now, but I had a
a host of health issues, physically alike, adrenal fatigue
entire road problems and things like that, but then also motionless said the anxiety, depression and panic attacks and eating disorders. Things like that
and even
though at that time, in my life I was twenty four. It was the darkest
an hardest time off. My wife like
had never experienced darkness, hardship, adversity and pain like I had and
at that time I was living,
on my friends full doubt, bed. It was
and even like a full doubt couch, it was like a little signal. I actually gave me severe.
Back pain back injury that I now still and dealing with from sleeping on that bad because I couldn't afford to live on my own, I just been dumped by another guy, my friends
actually just dumped me so
this point in my life I literally felt like I had nothing. I had no job. I had no money.
He had no friends, I had no boyfriend. I had one friend the girl
but let me sleep on her full doubt. Bed
and so I was in the hospital. The most
happy I'd ever been in my entire life with money
mom and dad thank the law.
For them by my side and my friend
and at the time
guardian angel was my
That angel gave me a book that changed everything for me and

light. Bulbs went off and I
turn to my mom and I
said to her.
Thank you to hold me. There's like why,
you know why
You tell me that you too
The life beyond your wildest dreams like why? Don't you
me that
we can choose, love instead of fear. Why
you tell me this, and she just turned me like I was fucking crazy,
and she is like- must die for God's sake, I was doing the best that I could you know an inch.
Absolutely was doing the best that she could so was mine,
and they still are- and I am so grateful for them, but I was never taught,
you can choose love instead of fear. I was never taught that you can unlock your full potential and leave your best life. I know one.
Told me that in high school people told me you gotta go to university, do
degree that you don't really like study
the three is and then go get a job
that's mediocre. That pays media rights and
liver media Goliath, like that's what I thought was the norm and that
if it moment for me in the hospital changed my entire life,
I knew that I was responsible for
in myself into that hospital bed. I knew that I was responsible.
My health and my happiness, and that was a ski
Harry, but also very liberating because I thought well, if I'm responsible for getting myself here, I'm the only one that
get myself out and so from
That moment, I made it my apps
salute mission to get happy and healthy again
I went on and I studied holistic nutrition and life.
Poaching and
their taxation and did my yoga teacher training and I studied energy Workin Healy
the body to energy in this modality, cold actuated, genetics- and I read every
single personal development and self help book. I could get my hands on him. I went in every single event: workshops, seminars, tony Robins DE martini, everything that I could go to just two.
Absorb as much of this wisdom,
from these leaders and teaches that
were shining the light for us and I
and started this thing called a blog. This was back in.
Very very early two thousand and eleven and I began share and what I was learning through,
my writing and started coaching people
coaching people, one on one which I loved and create
My first a book that was the first thing I sold online was in a book. It was an eighteen dollars, a book and it was called twelve steps too
well in this, and it was about
holistic Health and wellness, and you don't know
in about nourishing a body, but mastering your thoughts and living your dream life and
I then went on to create a corset
and men touring programmes,
from there. I began being asked to speak as an inspirational speaker and motivational spinning and then
I got a book deal to write my first book mastering your main girl and then
started running my own events all over the world and Oliver stray earlier. I started these events,
these gatherings called the goddess groups where I brought women together and we unlocked our full potential together and then
I did my podcast, which you know
one year he to me
in downloads and then,
launched my second book, which is called open wide, which is out now, and it
over the years since two thousand and eleven it's just snowballed it
it's just done- it's taken up
its own world, because
have showed up, and I have continued to do the work and I have continued to master my own mingle in practice. What we preach and be
a leader for women, because that is what I'm here for the universe tapped me on the shoulder and said this is.
Purpose here on earth and
I am so honoured to be that vessel,
and I love what I do so much, I'm so lit up by it, and I
I want to help people unlock their full potential,
leave the life of their dreams, create the life in the business of their dreams, because
where all worthy of it
Greece single person here on
If you are breathing, you are worthy and we all have unique gifts. We all
have a message to share:
We just have to master that in a intermingle and do it because the world needs. You
We are here to be of service to others, and that is our divine gift
the world and I want to help people do that. I just wanna have like all the praise. Hands emerges,
and can everyone see why I'm obsessed with molests, I feel like when I
listen to you. I just feel like I can take on the world and one thing I want to dive into a little bare and actually our mutual friend lorry harder
on the show- and we talked about limiting beliefs, and I love the way that you speak about the mean girl. Can you dive into that a little bit because I feel like
civically as women, but I know we have a few men listeners out there as well. We
are not taking control of the dialogues that we are putting on RE p in our brain. So can you dive into what that means? Okay, so every
or women on this planet has an end
has an inner critic and that lives
our mind and you can call it your ego. You
cool it, your shadow self? You can call it Bob Mary Fred. I just like to call it my
the main goal, because she's main mine is pretty mean right: leg and data, the voice that says you're, not good enough,
you're, not smart enough. Who do you think you are launching a podcast dog, bother writing a book. No one's gonna read it
you're, never gonna meet the guy. You never gonna get out of debt. Hello can
everybody relate to this. Yes, we all have that voice
every single person, no one is exempted. This everyone has it even a cot tall you know like, but the thing is is like he's got in very good at putting his on mute and that's what my first book is all about:
about mastering that voice and turn
down the volume on your in a critic and turning up the volume of your truth, your heart, because that is this place,
that we want to live from a hot space, not out you
main goal because
is not where we want to live from. So a my first
book and a lot of what I teach and talk about is about mastering that voice, because
life is so much more joy for when you do, and this
mean that your name
going to have a limiting thought ever again:
it doesn't mean that you never gonna, have a few based limiting thought again heck. I had one probably five minutes ago right, but when it pops up I'd, take my
self through my three step, mastering your mango process to come back to love and die,
that's what we're gonna do anymore. You practice that the more you practice
from fear to love,
stronger you get out at the better. You get us like going to the gym right,
will you do your squad, the tidy your booty is gonna, get the more you pray
this mastering your main go every day. Does better you're going
get at it. So it's about practising it every day
women have between sixty and eighty thousand thoughts a day right. So that is
essentially sixty two
Eighty thousand limiting fear based in a main go thoughts. Men have only forty thousand, so they have like half the amount of limiting thought
so we have so we may be, must
our main girl eighty thousand times a day- and I know that might sound like wholly walk-
mom we, but just think of it. This way
that's a lot of opportunities to practice and a view practice that aid
thousand times a day. You gonna get serve Fricking good at it that when a pops up you'll be like right, I'm gonna go straight back into love, because I know that fear stinks
oh my gosh, a man so
you have two books and open wide recently came out
you tell me about that? One, because I'm obviously Oliver listeners are going to listen to mastering year mean girl, could now we're recognising that she's, a Regina George and our heads. So what
is open wide about and what inspired you to write? It ok
open wide. The subtitle is a radically real guide to deep love
king relationships and soulful sex, sir is book is,
relationship manual because were born
into this world and no one gives us a manual on how to navigate our relationships and away
that we learn is by watching our parents
and that may be an awesome example fear. But for majority of people it's not a very good example,
and a lot of our relationships and our habits are either borrowed or inherited from our parents and from the people that we witness growing
and so no one taught me how to navigate relationships with myself with others. So I had to learn the hard way and I found
and I floundered, and I made a really poor choices in men. I made
really poor choices in friends. Survey
it myself with very unhealthy relationships and it ll
to a lot of hot egg, but it doesn't have to be that way. So,
can wide is about opening your heart
a new way of living and in
every moment you're either open or your closed here either in your heart or your in your head, and we came here.
On earth to be open to not be closed, not be closed off to your point,
now your children or the to the driver or the girl behind the cafe at there, you are
Ghana shop. You know like we came here to be an open vessel, because when you open during your heart, when you're on
in your choosing love, but when you're,
in fear, you are in your head and your closed off to the world, your closed off to the
everywhere. So this book is a guide for people to navigate relationships, not only with them, so
navigate relationships not only with themselves but with their friends,
their family and, of course, this soul mate and if they a few I yet
you call in your soul, mate in the book. I talk about how nuke,
cool in your one, how you can calling your soul mate, but at all
start with you and the whole first section of the book is about self love. It's about cultivating a beautiful relationship with dsl fast, because we teach people how to treat us
and if you don't frickin love the heck out of yourself, how the heck? Can you expect anyone else too
so it really does start with us in this book is very much about everything. I've learned over the years and
fumbling my way through different relationships with men and also friends and family and then come
to a place of being
with my soul. Mate
rounding myself with the most,
the sole sisters I could have ever
Imagine like my life
now is beyond,
my wildest dreams? It is better than my wildest dreams and I didn't know it was possible, but it is possible there is.
The such thing as Heaven on earth, and this is it a new concur
your own reality and you can
create beautiful, deep soulful,
king rich relationships we just now
to know how and that's what this book is all about. So good,
I was listening, do show the other day in and something that really stood out. Nimblest, though, is how you said in your show that for so long that inner dialogue that inner mean girl had told you, I'm just,
the marrying kind or I dont want to have a family but deep down in your soul. Those are the things that you desire
the most and I,
that a lot of times when were vulnerable, we can kind of put our own crap out there, so that others can call us on and what I love about use, just how open you are in your books and online. So can you talk a little bit
about being Rhine real, like do get scared about it. Do you ever regret at what is out look like for you? Oh
gosh you. Yes, I wanna vomit. Sometimes I'm so glad you said that all my guide, Yan apps
loudly leg, yes,
before I went on stage so Nick, and I just
finish touring, Australia. Together, we decided, I wrote my book
then why'd and he's a musician, and he wrote a Sancho open, wide silence
if him touring on his own and may during my own as a book to her in a music to our, we decided to collaborate together
it was called
from wide. It was like music mixed.
With meditation and motivation. It was kind of like a cold play concept mixed between tiny robins,
it was so appear like it was epical, so much fun.
Every night before I went on stage, I was buckled over with nerves and then every time I walked stage
I had vulnerability hangovers I was like almost
My guide did I actually say that today's russia- oh my god, did I just share that that story was that one? Yes, I do
said the two thousands of people. Oh, my god, you know
I hope that all the time, all the time, but but
vulnerability connects us
vulnerability makes p.
Pull lean in view
an or fantaisie real ness, honesty, truth. That is what we are here for we're not.
Here to pretend that were perfect. Get rid of that word perfect him.
Section from your vocabulary, delete it right now, because it does
not exist in the union
tat. To me on the shoulder and said Melissa, I know this is gonna
along comfortable, you being vulnerable, but you really need to be a leader and vulnerability. You really
need to show people how to be vulnerable. You need to show people how to be authentic and honest and truthful. This is your job
and I went, ok, ok what
like? Why? Maybe
why me? Why sure? It's me a shore and that the week before my book came out, I didn't sleep. I wrote
over to my husband and unsafe him baby. Did. I really put.
Honey unless it is it too late isn't true light. Is it too late days like the funding it s? My yeah and he's, like you, know
of my and he's like. You know what it's perfect and
You are just speaking a truth and being honest, and that is what makes people leaning that's why people are so connect.
With you and I love your work because they trust you, because you are open,
an honest, I'm very open and honest and I feel oversight
Stability like I have to. I have to be a voice, because that is what we
here for an that's what the universe, oh god or whatever you want to call it. That's what it tapped me on this
water and said I had to do but absolutely
to answer your question? Yes, I feel
second, my stomach many times
I'm so glad, because I feel like a lot of times I'll do interviews just
about vulnerability, and it's like. I know this isn't easy for any of us like. I think that is easy to look at. Someone like you
listen. Think of the comes naturally, but I think that you just continue to step in.
To that call and I'm just really think
all that you have known their ability hangovers too, because something happens, a new step on a stage and incite some other being takes over and then you're like. I cannot believe that just have totally and people say to me: do you still get nervous before
go out on stage, and the answer is
Yet my heart beats and there is definitely adrenaline swimming through my body and my
body heats up and I get you know hot and cold.
Me- and maybe I have a nervous stomach and nodded my stomach but lie
He said as soon as I step on site as soon as I walk through the
fear I am held and then the new

idea because it wasn't me livings drew me. I mean
to decide by I'm the vessel I am just
vessel. It isn't about me, but my job is to work.
Through that fear. Just before I get on stage and be the vessel, the universe is let Melissa. I need to use you
to use you as the vessel, can you just get up on the stage? I know you're gonna feel sick about a, but can you just do it? Ok, I'm!
so glad you're saying all this and I want it kind of pivot
into a little talk about intuition because I feel like when I hear you speak.
I want the universe to tat me on the shoulder, or maybe slap me across the face, sometimes an eye.
Like some times for alive
Otherwise we hear these little nudges are feel these little cause, but maybe we're wondering is just my brain is:
recalling is
there's something I should pursue is something I should just ignored. I don't feel up to it. Walk is through kind of listening.
Your intuition and an answering those calls, because I know that we are all getting them and they all it differently,
we might not be stepping into who the world means us to be so.
Or intuition
is more of a feeling. Ok and a lot of people ask me this is how can I listen to my intuition more? How can I tap into my intuition more
and like we were talking about before, with Master Domingo, its muscle, the more that in practice
listening to your intuition and following your intuition that muscle gets strengthened so you're in
you wish and comes from you got. You know. People say you ve got instinct that
is your intuition. Your fear either your head
speaks to you more and the words like that'll say: oh don't do that. You know that
not a good idea, but you're in
we wish him doesn't necessarily speak to you in word. It's more of a feeling. You know it's like someone
city. Why did you start podcast? Like I don't know? I just I just had to start upon
I don't know it's just like this feeling came over me and I just do that and
That's your intuition, guiding you and the more that you practice listening to. That
following that. Even if you can't look,
logically and a little.
We understand why you like. Will that does
makes sense why you know you ve got so many things on your place. Why start a podcast? You don't have
time will the space you like. I don't know I just have to do it. You got it.
Let go of the logic and follow it anyway. That will strengthen your intuition, and that is how I build my life, my whole life and my business, a built on intuition. So everything I do
who comes from my intuition. Every business decision I make is from intuition it's very it's not logical
It is not about numbers, it's not about well, if I do that and then do that it'll equal that it's like.
Why wont to do that? Is that a health Virginia for me? If it's not
yeah then it's no thank you and that's how I run my business and my life and the more you practice following your intuition.

Would you practice are what does your practice of self care look like?
because you are a busy busy woman. You are so successful. You have so much going on. How do you feel yourself back Melissa,
Well, I was, I just haven't another interview before this one and I was telling them that self care
is my number one priority, because without my health I cant do the pod. I can't write books. I can't speak on stages. I can't travel. I can't do it.
Of the things that I want to do. A cop mentor, my tribe, so
health is number one and
self care. Self love is number one, so I dedicate the
few hours of my day to myself and I
do things like meditation yoga.
Oh, go for a walk, swim in the ocean in a move,
My body in some way
I have a saunter in my house all have a sort of whilst listening and usually your podcast. You know

Two hours of my day sometimes longer is dedicated to me and
and when I sit down at my work, sit down at my desk
sitting down full. I have taken the time for myself. I
I put my essential oils on I've, got them defusing right now. Next to me that really help me, that's not a little. You know
me into something it's so simple. That makes me feel like I'm. Taking
air of myself is defusing essential oils. Next to me, while I work you know something simple and I know
my body- was beautiful. Organic food
and then
take time to have my lunch. You know I don't sit at my desk and eight. I sit outside
if it's sunny and get some son on my skin and makes-
or that I'm getting out into nature and my house,
and I we both work and live together- and we have come

together and then we'll relax together, maybe will give each other a massage or will

time every day to feel yourself up. Do the things that make you feel good in my first book mustering mingle, I get everyone to create a self love menu.
That's a menu of ten things that make you feel frickin wished like from me
diving in the ocean and doing on the meditating.
Ocean in doing
Berger and meditating in making it
before meal and laying in the sun reading a book, so I get everybody to create the self love menu and stick it on their free,
and in those moments when you want to go and ate a whole tub of ice cream to fill yourself up, do something off your soul.
Love menu instead
feel yourself up from the inside out, not the outside in which is.
In a tub of ice cream will do that is so
good, I always say self care isn't found in bath salts. I feel like whenever people say you need, like a
break. They assume you should just go, take a bubble bath and I'm not a big bubble. Bath person, my family loves taking baths, but I think they're kind of gross
but I love I'm in and make a menu, and I love that idea, because I think that it is so easy for us to just empty ourselves and not really think about filling ourselves back up.
So one question for you that I love to ponder is a lot of times. Are best teachers in life are the ones
You need the most help, so, for example, and I love to teach about self love because it something I struck,
with? Is there any parallels with your story, or your journey array stand today where you feel like yours
no good at speaking it into existence. But maybe you fail at executing in your own life. I feel like incomes.
Back to the practising like. I feel like I'm really good at this. Now yeah Lego, when I've made
to my mind about something I just go for it and what I just go for it now and I
have this tendency to once I say: I'm gonna do something I do it.
And so when other people die. This is something that I need to. Let go off because when I, when someone says something to me that they gonna do and they don't do it, I'm like, but I'm gonna look like
when I say I'm gonna do something I do it and I just go for it so that something that I need
remind myself, fathers, I've gotta, let tat go when people cause that's their job,
yeah? That's that's the insurers, but for me my boy,
Ain doesnt logically commute. Do you know what
are you gonna? Do something just do a leg go for, of course, as you can change your mom
and that's another, really important thing. You can
change your mind, you can change
mind about your beliefs, your values, anything that you one just owner
you know, like someone said to me we're talking about a health thing and they
to me all that used to do that, and I, my Gabriel
in my mind, and I owe causing it
I don't believe that anymore. I changed my mind about that. I love that.
We're all we're all walking contradictions, we're walking, contradictions and just own leg, just owner and say I changed my frickin mine.
That's really big as well like? I have a bonus son whose twelve and being
really vulnerable with him and say it's like I
change my mind about this weather is a health thing or a belief tat he might go, but
but you ve, always said this and, unlike
yeah. I know I always said this, but at its root
scary and the moment is it. I guess you have to admit that you ve changed your mind and you'll be like asking. You changed your mind on light less so
It's ok to change your mind if we want to it's. Ok, just
That's too bad, so I'm curious about neck in your relationship in the sense of way
is he different in what does he challenge you, and why, in your relationship, is something not just keeps you striving or open to change
or transformation.
There is a lot of unity in mind.
Relationship with Nick and in open, wide and chapter four
school dive into your ocean where I get every
one to discover their core
values, beliefs, interests and I hope, because
when you know yourself really well you're able then to either cool
Someone who is super aligned- or I call them deal- break work out what your deal break as I like it
in your core values in your core desires and interests and within
can I
There are many, many areas that
the US so aligned and how
doesn't challenge me.
In the sense that you know
I see some relationships. They get challenge,
to buy one per.
And being more open one person be in one place being
were closed down or one person
being more striving in there
career and the other not one being healthier and the other non like you look mine,
nix relationship and when we think the same for a lot of things,
But where he challenges me is in his brilliance, because I can't be average
in this marriage. I could
be mediocre. I can't,
small, I can sit in fear. I can't be closed.
Caught choose my main goal because when you off
face with
a really strong morale cables reflect that back to me all the time
so the challenge,
Our relationship is he's all right
is challenging me to be the best version of myself to step up to
Never choose fear instead of love. So I guess that is
challenges me- and I do the same for him, but in time
of all of the other areas like our core
values in valise, where aligned,
on so many of those. You know our police around parenting where aligned, we don't have an issue with that, where a line
not police or money and finances, and things like that. But
he challenges made a be the best version of myself every single day. I can't be mediocre with him in front of me so good. I love that
I just love following your story because I feel like there are so many places where people can,
connect with you and what I think is so beautiful when you show up
just as you are no, we all have faults and flaws, but we all have this power with interest.
I think that it gives these little bits of connection almost like breadcrumbs for people to see themselves
reflected in who you are and who they can be and so
What are your top three pieces of advice for people out there who feel like they haven't quite stepped into
call, or they are quite sure what the universe is high.
We need on the shoulder, for the first thing is get quiet like gets still, because the universe is,
currently tapping you, but there's so much noise outside and in your mind that you can hear it so gets still sit close your eyes and listen to.
Don't listen to the main goal. Listen to your intuition, because the messages are there.
We just gotta mute the enemy
go and outside noise, that your distracting yourself with tv social media whenever it is toxic relationships.
Meet all of the outside noise sit down new year in an NGO and then listen to what is coming through to you. That is really important. That is like the number one thing is, I think, we're very good at
strutting ourselves busying busying ourselves, but we ve got to really get still and I feel like that is number to end number three. I feel like that's that's what we need to do.
That is what we need to do right now and every day, and I'm still doing at you know, that's why I'm meditate twice a day when he minutes in the morning and twenty minutes in the evening. I meditate every day, because that is my time to choose in and to make sure that I am in alignment that I'm tapped in that. I can hear any messages from the universe.
And that I am an open vessel and I'm open wide, and that is why I meditate so get still get still get still. I think that is enough.
Of all advice- and I think that so many of us struggle with that were always refreshing, apps and checking emails, and I honestly
that a lot of that comes from that mean girl. We feel like were afraid to be still because we're afraid to listen, we're afraid to answer those calls that might be coming in, and so just you show
up today and sharing your story is so impact for in a truly makes a difference, and I would love for you to tell people where they can find
you how they can connect with you. How can they can tune in to your amazing podcast? Give us all of the places that we can do that

Of herself, there are so many
They re just found myself nodding along while she said this, but I know that sometimes is harder to put those things in emotion in your life, and so what if we stop,
small and work bags together. What if we start to tame the inner
in girl, in search of pay attention to those conversations in those things that were telling ourselves what, if that port,
into the way that we show in the world and how we can impact others Melissa
