These three students decided to take their own plunge by investing in themselves and enrolling in Amy Porterfield’s Digital Course Academy. This program is the gold standard for anyone who wants to create, launch, and scale an online course… And that’s exactly what Danielle, Chrissy, and Nicole have done over the last year. But investing in the program wasn’t a decision that came lightly. Their fear and reservations could’ve prevented them from diving into the water -- could’ve held them back from all of the success they’ve seen since making the understandably fear-filled decision to invest. Is that you? Are you standing on the edge thinking, sure, creating an online course sounds great, but should I, could I really dive in?
That’s actually why Danielle, Chrissy, and Nicole are on the Goal Digger Podcast. They know better than anyone what it’s like to be where you’re standing, debating if this is the right jump. You’ll hear their before, during, and after stories of Digital Course Academy, as well as the reservations they had and how those went out the window as they started the course. I am so thrilled to have them here so you can picture yourself in their successes.

China is so great to be here a seriously so grateful showing
I did so. I have had the pleasure of just watching porn
It's your story unfold by tell me just
a little bit about your journey. That kind of landed you where you are today in twenty twenty yeah, it's kind of a kind
is a story and I always go back to
really like my upbringing and the beginning, because I feel like entrepreneurship has always been and my blood, but at the same time there has always been this
and needing
which you can climb the corporate ladder, get an education, get some stability, some security
and a lot of that came from the fact that my mom had me out a very young age. She was fifteen years old and she got pregnant with me, and so it was really hard for us as a few
growing up and I seen her work three jobs back too bad. Can I see my dad try to start job after job
are in entrepreneurship journey after you know, on finished up journey in chase of the american Dream and just not happening for our family and one of the biggest things on
both in their hearts, was like. I get an education
and get a stable job with some benefits, and that is your ticket to the area.
Can dream. We are operating
family, and I was a first generation college graduate, and so all of that was like. Ok, this is my mission.
This is my goal and once I got there
graduated and got a secure job. It was like, oh ok, will now
but I guess I just I guess I just climbed the corporeal matter as much as I can and has tried to chase this lifestyle. At the same time, I got married had kids beyond by the age of twenty five years old. I already reached bp of sales for Fortune five hundred company.
And I was a moment to three boys, and so there is a lot going. I'm younger Andy kind of get to this point sometimes and life for your dislike. Ok, but am I happy doing
ass, and is this what are passionate about, and is it worth the time away from my kids and away from my family in the way?
I need to be, and so I continue
to grow, and I stepped into the role of director of marketing, which got me so excited cause. I was just running: multi million dollar launch campaigns month over months. It was incredible, is working with personal brands and I thought okay, I think I've had it like. I've had my wrote them. The corporate side I'm doing something passion
about, and I love and then the company shut down there was some.
Issues, this management, we shut our doors and all of us were let go with two days notice,
Oh hey did not expect this.
Curveball in life I thought, like I've been on this path. I thought I was doing.
In writing it. I thought I had job
security in financial security, in the way that we now my family was taught. We didn't have a ton of examples of wealth when it came to entrepreneurship and owning business as and so the
this January twenty nineteen and I was kind of at a pivotal point of light. What
I do now, and so that was a big year for me to just take a step back and really think about
what can I do that aligns with my skill set? My superpower
what I'm passionate about, but also is something that could give me more freedom than what I had more financial freedom words.
I'm freedom to be able to be a mom and to be with my kids and kind of you as an opportune
ready to step into an that's kind of what kicked off the beginning of my business.
The environment? May entrepreneurship online journey altogether? Really it's so crazy because it's like we. Why,
this story actually is what a lot of people are facing these days. You know with how twenty Twenty has pan doubt. What was it like
when you're like all right? I guess I'm on my own and I better use thing what was like? Oh my gosh scary fry, the it's kind of a crazy journey. I did what I knew: how to do bass, which was continuing to look for jobs. I had climbed pretty high. I was looking for good.
He'd have positions, and those are not easy and quick to come
buy and sell. While I was doing that, unlike ok, I'm gonna keep applying in certain
is this is all I know this is the world. I have felt in my career
are so long, but I'm gonna figure this out for myself to you and I'm gonna try to have-
the self discovery mode of what I want to deal in life and where I want to go, and so in the process of that really dug
into podcast like you are
listen, just getting all the knowledge and information as I can inspiration from people of what's possible and what is this world look like and what are all the things that I can tap into and one of the biggest things that got me
down the path of the accompanying that I run right now, as I wanted to take the marketing skills.
That I had acquired and Bell over fifteen years and help people like me and the third
The five other incredibly talented, create adds that got. Let go and are just kind of face. Swift, like ok, what
We create our own stability, our own security, doing what we love to and the passion so want to help the underdog and really come alongside them from a marketing perspective. Kind of us are in house chief marketing,
a surfer season and get the excited and passionate about starting their own
snares and launching that that felt like there was so much purpose in that be
on just a paycheck beyond just
in my own personal financial security for myself, for my family, like it just
real and went so much bigger than that. I have such a passion for helping one of color like myself and just being able to do that to creep,
it that opportunity for families and for a while,
I have some kind of pity and change a lot of you know. Maybe the path we would have been an otherwise. So it's a lot assault discovery when you're in this mode of water
I do now, but if you allow yourself to really dive into that and to observe- and you know I really think about
matters here most, it's incredible. What can come from up well you're such a good example to of redefining
success for yourself or anything, so many of us are taught you know, there's this one path that you must take in order to be truly successful, and I think that I've been able to just kind of watch. You carve your own path as a busy and move.
Kind of being forced, Orson Entrepreneurship,
now. You know why I made you, take the leap of faith to invest in any porter fields pro
Graham because you're, a learner like when I think you to learn her. She is all in on learning what made you kind of say.
This is it in? This is a programme that I can learn from you
I definitely feel like I've grown up as an over achiever of an just constantly wanting to learn and grow and push through like if there is an issue or a problem like it's fine, we'll figure it out
find the solution will learn how to do it. It's all good. I think that's what makes me such a great strategies, which also what helps me be a man
with such kind. Some, like you know what it's ok, worrying figures out together.
Having that means and mentality is as like our I I'm gonna use this as an opportune
many for me to learn and create a path to grow and
my best. I knew that I wanted to be able to help other women other
it offers to market their business
as an market, their personal brands, but I also wanted to do it in a way that would allow me to be a mom to make heads and present with them, and so the idea of creating a kind of both of this
hands on a bit of one on wine, a bit of done for you kind of services, but yet still with passive income and online courses and growth opportunities? I just felt like that with such a perfect marriage of what I wanted to do. That would just a line
for my family. So I just was like
We're going to do this or he had take, because then we're going to figure out a way to create this,
online business then away that functions,
for my family- and that would just really allow me to grow and scale at the rate with our giving too much of myself, because I didn't want it to have the opposite effect of feed.
We still tied down to a ninety five that,
like it was round the clock yeah. Why, as twenty twenty looks like for you, because
Twenty twenty has worked like a lot of things for a lot of very let's take a moment to take a look back over this last year, so twenty twenty has
in insane in all the craziest ways that were all feeling, but in my business and all of the best ways, and I'm so humbled and grateful for all that has happened for this year with the brand vibe I
was able to grow and scale this business. To the point where I quit my full time job
I'm so. I talked about how, when I lost my job initially, I was still in the search right stolen the hunt for what that next role could be
and while I found my power
on wanting to start this business. I also got a job offers for something pretty incredible of our role as a creative director and isn't that just how life works rear like now, they're just decided to do as any. I hear the opportunity I've been looking for a four six minds, a hesitant and so
I did end up taking that job. I had just been six months without a job. I did
why to run a business. What the financial pressure on my back
continuing. I wanted to do it for all the right reasons. I wanted to do it to have an impact, but I did dedicate myself
doing it and that actually was one of the stipulations.
Taking. The role was like I'm also running this business, and I just need to make sure you guys are aligned with that, an ok with it, because I'm not gonna stop me and they were which is
The incredible has not a lot of companies are so
or I started doing- that while conjunction running the business and raising three babies, and so it was a crazy year. Twenty nineteen into the first half of twenty twenty by when Cove it had in March, there was an opportunity to really step up and serve my audience online in a very intentional way, and so in
you ain't got and showing up and really creating programmes and courses.
Allied with what they needed during the season. It had propelled my business into
being able to quit that full time job and be able to stay
to the right and I'm out right now
have now since shifted into running a full blown marketing agency, which is so exciting, say get the chance in the privilege. Yeah it's a great, but I get the privilege to you now employ other people and help them to enhance their strengths and it just as it so great. It's just ball
our call to come to where I am,
right now, and I dont know that it would have happened at this rate or at this level had this year not brought what it dead and so on a lot a case, as I think it's been a really tough here for everyone, but in trying to look through the positives of it, I see
the benefits of what its brought my business and how, by extension, that has helped impact so many lives, and that is why most fulfilling feelings you could have as a business owner one.
The things I love that you talk about new cause, diversifying your income bird, just because I think that when I think of your story,
you ve been able to pivot, which I have coined the word of twenty twenty many interactions by each of those directions has allowed you to kind of debt
versify your income in a way that provides that security. We
you outlined as kind of your measure of success, walk me through that just a little bed yeah. So
number why and I had this full time jobs so for everyone out there who is thinking in order for you to start a successful business and grow wine? You have to go on land and you have to do this on your own. It is possible. I was able to have a full time. Job run away,
yes and raise three heads and it wasn't easy. I'm not gonna sit here and say it's the easiest thing to do and simple, but it's possible and with the right focus and support.
Around you and leap of faith. You can for sure make it happen by a lot of it
comes from understanding
It's happening at the moment and being willing to pervert into what
is aligned with your lifestyle and your family and your goals, along with what your audience needs, and so in a lot of ways. I started this with thinking. I'm gonna do honour when coaching
primarily I'll, be hands on a really get a feel for what people need when it comes to marketing,
their branding were launching their course launching their programme and then
from there beyond being just very attentive to
why my audience was responding to just really realising
that, depending on the season that were an, we just need different levels of support and different things, and so it went from helping coach entrepreneurs to work
How can you also do the work for me? Oh we're busy, and we need a lot of help along the way, and can you create the sales paid
then, that emu sequence and all of the fun stuff when it comes to launching fun for me, but not for a lot of people, and so I'm like, of course I can, because I knew that I had not only my own skull set to do it, but I had a lot of the knowledge from courses like Amy's and digital course. Again me just gave me such a great framework
for launching and for creating courses and being able to be hands on with some one in doing the work. That was a huge opportunity, but then also,
Oh really, looking at, like our aid, now
we're in this covert online space and so were pivoting more to online courses and more at a group programmes, and so it really just has become. Like you know, what does the market cough
or what do my clients really need? How can they show up for them such purpose and continuing to create programmes that they fall in love with again and again,
I love when you talk, because I'm smiling, because when you say we walk me through a lot.
About who you ve collaborated with over this last year. This has been like my.
Front row seed access to going to watch women specifically about women and men purse.
Sue their dreams and champion other women. Oh my gosh! This has been one of the best like benefits that were unexpected. Of
being involved with these and getting it with your community. I have been able to me so many other, like minded leaders and
entrepreneurs who are just chasing their passions and their dreams, and we are
our own unique ability is, we all have our own scale sites and when you can find a business Bessie
that can just compliment what you're doing so, while it really opens up so much more opportunity, it opens up your thoughts and, where your business
in growl, and it really allows you to champion one another in the best way possible. So it's been so incredible to partner with people like didn't ya
I am and HANS and all of these
credible entrepreneurs to step in and say, hey. You have something offer. I have something to offer. What if we combined bears an created, a joint course or
the programme- or you know what
what you gonna take the best of each of our world and serve our audience in the best way, and that was unexpected. But one of the biggest benefits of this is that collaboration is,
have loved watching you guys all collaborate and there's so much collective knowledge, and I also feel like a kind of a hidden benefit of that in being in community with other people that are going in the dark
Senor going is you're able to call out other people's strength in a way that maybe they didn't witness. I feel like it's. An online is awakening where you're like way, we
I know you're so good at this and get a lot of people trying to figure out like way. What
here's my sweet spot and like well. I m really good at that. Isn't it just like so exhilarating? Oh, my gosh despair cell, closer
genius, we always see tat and we shall everyone knows lesser o. This isn't special and you have these people around here. That are like no, no, it's a very special and
and it's definitely whenever superpowers in your like. Oh ok, you ask you talking what else is there any more? What would you say it is someone who wants to pivot or-
wants to diversify their income or is questioning like do I have give certain. I translate
as for my ninety five or just
give something to the world and make a bigger impact. What would you say to that like? What was that thing that got you off of the fence and into programmes set of change? Your life? I think, especially with this year
I had this a lot last year and twenty nineteen with my job loss- and I know a lot of us- are feeling at this year with co bed and all that is happening, but
reality, as life really is short and we just don't
now, how much time we
how much opportunity there is ahead of us. If you have this burning passion inside of you, that is setting your soul on fire to want to chase a different direction. There is never.
A better time than right now and being willing to say I'm at least going
try and I'd rather try and fail, then fail to try
and having the mindset of like I'm in and give this my all, I'm gonna go for it because I know I have so much valued and tat is
so important to taking that leap and taking that step forward, starting in
online business and being an entrepreneur or there is a lot of limiting beliefs. We struggle with there's a lot of mindset. We have to work.
Blue and really being able to step into it with faith and say I'm gonna go for, I mean and give it my all, and I am at least going to try and attempt to make an impact beyond
myself beyond. You know just what I'm doing here and an extra you know just go for it like that
The biggest thing is just go for it,
you're feeling that way, those who literally no about our time to do it- and now I love that nickel. Where can everybody can act with you?
find out more about what you offered check in on you give us all the places yeah see they can fly,
me, I'm over at the brand vibe pretty much every channel sowed the brand I've dot com or at the brand vibe on Instagram and Facebook. So that is
Where are you guys, can connect with me? I'm just so grateful for you.
You in my life and just the way that you show up in our community, and I cannot wait to see what this next year brings for you. Oh my gosh that ass same here completely. Thank you,
So much for having it's been. Such a joy.
Alright. I'm so excited to welcome Chrissy to this podcast Chrissy. Welcome to the gold digger podcast think so why China I'm so excited of air. I'm sorry!
They need to have you, so we have to give people kind of a fallback story, but I was actually crises wedding photographer in the day, and now we ve grown up and had babies and done way too many pivots to even count so why people
just a little bit of your story Chrissy, because your story is like one of my favorites off an you yeah. It's so crazy when p,
All asked me what I am doing now and why I always start by saying: well, you don't have you heard of Jonah culture
he was. My wedding photographer ends seven years ago, and I
following you because I think you featured our pictures on your blog and all that
kind of how I ended up just watching your life from afar.
As we do on social media, and it was just really.
He called a watch your dirty,
and seeing you go from being in a full time photographer to than teaching other people how to do business with photography and then all of a sudden I said now, she's teach
and people there is less than nay. Now she bought a conduit or why are you so I kept going? I started it just having these dreams
doing some of the things that I saw you doing, which was having freedom
over your time and impacting the masses. Meanwhile,
On my end, I had had two kids so about four and a half year old in a six year old,
and I've been in education for almost two decades now, from a former
little swarm after her, and I was a math instructional coach for a number of years and right when I had my daughter, I took a role as a director of math professional learning at a national nonprofit, so I was working from home, which gave me some freedom and creating a lot of content
planning protocols and professional development and lots of things like that, and I was noticed thing
that my impact was limited to those people who were in the organization or partnering with our organization, and so
as I was watching. The online course world explode,
I started having these thoughts about. How could I get some of the knowledge
out into the world at a lower price point, because I knew how expensive
was to partner with our organization and soda
I was kind of one. The seed was planted, and you know, as I listened to your pod cast and other pod casts it just this thought just kept being in the back of my mind that maybe this is something that I can
do Sunday and when the opportunity presented itself, I jumped on it, and I know it
get into it, but, like one thing lead to another ends.
I'm pursuing my own online business full time
just just so
citing and crazy. What was it like? What
We were like our at a minute, invest in myself. Unlike really go for this,
because I often think that just simply like proclaiming that dream and putting money down on it is the hardest step. Absolutely so. The context there is that, a few months before I started investing in online courses
to really start learning more about online marketing and courses? I had taken a new job, and so I was about three four or five months then,
and it was now my reader at all, but when
I heard you talking about the outbreak
unity that comes along with building here on business and
sharing your knowledge. Something just spoke to me and the way I think of it is like it's one of
five or sudden heat
times in my life, where I feel like the universe has given me the loudest and clearest sign that I'm supposed to do something, and I ended up
trying a few avenues to get my old job to buy it, and I told them. I would do the work and it didn't work out, and so I actually told my husband. I wanted to get my first on line course as my mother's day for
then why the higher levels of mothers deprez. I heard I guess I knew one way or another I was like. I am. I just said I am supposed to do this and I dont know why I am one hundred percent clear, so it felt a scary by good, because I I just fell in alignment and like it was the right thing, one of my feet,
things about you, crazy! Is that I feel like so many people in your position,
own necessarily think of themselves as an expert, even though that is one hundred percent. What you are
How did you battle that impostors in because you doing this work for so long, and you saw this bigger goal to provide like this,
They knowledge and learning through free and lower priced opportunities in that feels like a very big goal in a very big problem. How did you
finally decide like. I am the one that is supposed to do this. I would say I've struggled a little bit accepting that word expert.
Even in which is crazy, because that's exactly what you got in life,
previous role, there were times people would refer to me using that language, and I it with a
when someone gives you a compliment and you want to brush off. You know if I can have their reaction to do that. I would say over time
so I followed my intuition more and more as egg gave advice or gave feedback to people.
And I saw that it was impact form. I think that build up my confidence that I really did have a perspective that was
rounded and evidence that was valuable. That could save people time. That could help people get further and have more impact, and so it was
probably a slow build to get to the point where I first accepted the term.
And now here and there I will use the term in describing myself. I don't know, that's problem.
Would you like a woman thing to more common? For has as women say? Do
but anyway, yes, I think, has that happens. I became more willing to call myself and expert or think of myself in that way.
And in terms of sharing it with the world so hard to answer, I just felt called like that's. The true answer is I just felt called, and it's one of these things to where I don't. If this happens to you, John about you, look back on your life and you see how the little pieces, along the way like the dots each experience has prepared. You yeah, like I, took a graphic
design course randomly you dont like eight years ago and then in my last job I was doing so much content creation and so being
entrepreneurs right now, I'm like I love all those parts of it, like the graphic do it, I am still can
my own continent canvas like work. It are worried that stage of the business world
really doing it. I setting up a network that I can see
All these different pieces prepared me to do what I'm doing now. What was it like when you logged into D C,
like how did it feel? How was the course experience, bring you how is Amy as an instructor kind and give us a scoop for someone? That's like on the fence and now, like I don't know if this is for me log in
since when do you see a wise empowering, I would say I think Amy has done such an amazing job thinking through not only the content, but the experience be so even the fact that she decided to drift. The content, I think, was a very wise. It's a lot of information and she gives you everything. You need its very deep.
Tell very thorough and step by step, and so it felt so manageable just want to know that. Ok, here's this one module and I have a full week to work through it before the next one drops and
It also does such a great job of taking the pressure off. One of the things I was a little concerned about was how was I going to keep up with you. I had a full time job at the time to kids, which I still has and she gave us a calendar. I remember she gave us a pdf that helped us pace ourselves. We sort of like what
tracked you wanna Peck, and she spoke to all three of them and made them all valid. You know to the point where I thought: ok, I'm gonna take the slogan
and I'm gonna allow myself six months to implement or whatever it was an so yeah logging in felt good, because I knew I had time to do it. I knew I had lifetime access and I knew I could go at my own pace. Nurse tell me about the course that you just launched. What is your course, because I love what you D John that's, so I just dead a workshop coarse and that's actually something
that I learned about through a new third as wall and felt more manageable for me, cited a two hour workshop for math educators and it's all about how to increase access to grade level. Math using discussion based teaching the one of the biggest challenges for middles one highschool math teachers is teachers. Students have unfinished learning from previous grades and its can you really tricky situation to know? Do you go back and teach prior level content? Do you move forward with great level? Levelland
some of its running over the kids heads, and so I urge Crete in life, really pulled together a lot of strategies and done work with teachers and leaders to try to figure out some easy, some sort of low left ways to increase the access to grade level content and so
with the success it was actually last week it so cool. I was so fine getting to watch. You lie
I'm what
in love- and I think so many bar hesitant about- is there like way our people
that's gonna be like willing to pay for this, am I to specific and when you just said what your offer was: it's a niche
like that, allowing as for a specific audience and-
I think it allows you to make an even bigger impact in the students at you get to teach will. Thank you. I mean yes, the way I tell people, I pretty much quadruple next. I think it has, if not just teachers, but it now have to ensure that if a little,
school and in this specific problem yeah. But it's amazing. They say the riches are in the niches, and I just think too. The richness in the value that you can provide lies in the specificity that you offer so that people are like. Yes, this is
exactly created for me and what I need in mind
I want to know crazy. When are you going to launch a course that helps parents guide theirs
students to learn math with virtual learning this year. That's what I'm gonna next month,
like you need,
to create those I've been waiting for you to do this. That are you serious? I am you in every other parent, so I would say I've been really working on my strategy and soul, searching who I wanna deserve for the path at least twelve months and every time I would share with people that I was supporting teachers and coaches.
That was their response. When will you help here it, and so I told people you know
and in their education. Like that's my primary I've gotta get the foundation going. You know I have applied cast in. There was just a lot of things to get in place, and so I
hand appearance. In the back of my mind, I had them an especially then when cold it hid in the spring. I was hearing people ask for this, but I thought
we back in school in the fall you know, but as summer,
dawn, and it became clear that many of us would not be back in school full time it again.
To the universe they listening to people. I felt more and more that it was time to respond to that need answers.
Yeah I've actually go I'm putting together as we speak, a pad cast up a sword or two for parents, so that'll be coming up and then there's gonna be at least one workshop, and I'm considering doing a series of workshops for parents had of still figuring out what parents one
but next month, I'm so excited in one thing that I want to point out in this is
if selfishly pointing this out, but when you learn something like the DC a framework, you can apply this to any launch that you do like and I feel like so many times. People look at an investment,
and they don't understand how knowledge can compound in you, as math teacher. You get it right, absolutely so right, because I thought these.
About a year ago with Despoil Young, and my first do you now true launch- was a few weeks ago
I yelled out my notes. You know I went back to.
The modules and actually really watched a few lessons in Ireland. So amazing that we have begun the lifetime access and I just refresh on the parts I need
and in fact I had also bought Amy's. Women are slides. You could buy item of that then option this time by
and I hadn't using, I use them. I pull them out, and that was that with my template for the webinar, I love it
yeah, it's not cool and I think that you know
I mean I was Amy student first years ago and just looking at how you can take what you learn and figure out
What is my spin? What is mighty- and I feel like amy- does this better than most educators, where she provides a system the blueprint, the strategies, but then she also encourages you to find,
your space to find your niece, and I know for you. That was a huge thing is like that bow.
The Danish in your course idea. Walk me through what,
I felt like when you were like. Yes, this is a clear concept that I can run when I
But you see, I saw was a clear exactly who I wanted to serve, and there were a number of reasons for that part of it was that I was multi passionate. You know I thought. Ok, maybe I could serve moms, because the first few years of motherhood have presented some challenges. Maybe I could serve math teachers may be coaches, maybe parents they had all these different ideas and one of their activities that any has stew,
this year is validation. Cause now was invaluable because I actually started with one audience in mind. I was thinking I was going to serve math principles. I pray principles who are supporting math and I did a number of phone calls on that and, in fact, of even tell you, I recorded a few points
cast episodes with that audience in mind and, as I was doing it, I was reflecting and paying attention
do my own, like energy around it, and through that experience and through what people were telling me, I knew it fell off. It wasn't the right audience that I at least wanted to start with those those folks told me they didn't listen to podcast and
also the things that they needed help with. I wasn't feeling super passionate about teaching and so through the process of visa, and during those twelve weeks I ended up doing more validation, calls with teachers and, as I was talking to the teachers that joy came
you know it's just? It was so clear to me that that's where the energy and passion was for me and you know serendipitous Lee
I had an opportunity to do some one, I'm one consulting at my old school with teachers.
And so that aligned right to the end of this year- and so I said yes to that, even though I didn't really have time given that I began had had this full time job, but because
that clarity that I had the validation calls. I had this idea that, like that's gonna, be who I make the first course for
So I want to work with people one on one because Amy she mentions Island
the course over and over. She says you know if you haven't on the one on one, do it because it will help you
get inside in your. I see, it'll help you start to you. Don't test of different resources
see what you're saying over and over again start to put together your framework and she was absolutely right. Like I came out of that with a clear framework, I came out of it knowing the pain points anyway, so that that is a lesson was very helpful exercise
I love that crazy. What would you tell someone if they are on the fence, and I, like I don't know I don't have an email? Is I don't know if I'm an expert, I don't know if it's too complicated. What would you say I would say if you have a passion- and you know you have knowledge you wanna get out into the world. Do you see a is, is an invaluable investment you could make to help. You have the road map and the step by step for him,
how to get started with it. I'm the kind of person that's a little bit more of a slower starter. I like to observe and take my time before I jump in so even though I was
spending those twelve weeks really learning and implementing slowly my action taking with a little bit more slow, paste and methodical. I still got so much out of it because I got to observe
in his teaching. It gave me a vision of the kind. Of course I wanted to create, and it also helped me with my overall business strategy
I went into it knowing ok, I want digital courses to be a big part of what I do and so part of why it took me a little more time as because I wasn't saying yes to every consulting opportunity. That came my way doesn't make sense. Yes, a hundred prescribed only

you so much for having me. I was having a true full circle moment where I was thinking back to a year ago. It today Jenna like maybe not a year ago today, a year ago, in August of twenty nineteen, I was commuting.
Into an office listening to the gold, digger podcast. So the fact that I'm sitting here
right now is wild.
Isn't it wild? I'm not a woman will talk to me
a little bit about what you're doing and twenty nineteen and then what kind of talk about what you're doing today in just that transformation that you ve undergone in one of the craziest years of your lives.
You couldn't get a better, it's truly one of the crew.
This US years of my life so August,
nineteen I'm a vice president of strategic initiatives at a text.
Up so I had my entire career working at fortune, five
and dread, and then tech start ups. Where
was an sales
the strategy type roles. I was travelling time.
Managing teams? I got to work with some super cool retailers and brands. I was like truly
living my best life and
super glamorous from the outside. Looking in butts
something that was always kind
weighing on me was obviously the travel, whereas you down, obviously
like living on a plane and in a hotel room. That's just not like sustainable and
working for someone else really wormy down both like emotionally.
And mentally. So naturally, I resigned as vice president of strategic initiatives, my absolute dream job I contemplated doing that for about a year, but on September second, twenty nineteen. I picked up the phone
I called my boss and I resigned and
Nothing says your replaceable quite lake of fifteen. Second resignation call so
That is truly storing. Like you pull
but in your blood, sweat and tears, Bud
At the end of the day you are replaceable and so that
Surely, where I was a year ago in my life, is totally different sitting
here in August. Twenty twenty is not. While you know it's crazy is
the same thing happened to me, where I worry so much like I'm leaving a team and leaving all these people, and then I get to the office in somebody had already moved in to my office and you're. Like wait, the world still turns, and I just made it one of the biggest decisions of my life it took me I'm not kidding. I probably set three different dates and which it
like! Ok, do I'm gonna, do it today and their life. Ok, you know what I should probably finnish out this project, because you know I'm a really good person and then it was
Finally, like this like pull the plug so yeah,
So you I've been on this personal development journey and I've been lucky enough to almost have a front row seat to that where you have made decisions to invest in yourself and then to follow that charge and to follow through the one thing I just respect about you. So much is just watching you consistently
stepping in and step up into these new role. So first what we drew, what did I feel?
I am making an investment into something warrior like we can really do this like. Is this really for me,
so I resign on September second, and I actually ended up investing in.
This year and, of course, about two weeks later, and so at that point obviously theirs.
I'm walking away from a six figure salary benefits stock options. I'm
genuinely about to build a business from the ground up like starting at zero, like no social media, no email is. I actually started my business and used my fiance ten year old macbook up until about a man
They go so when I say like here like blind faith like diving into this head. First, that's exactly,
But I did and thank you for
like seeing me and knowing that I'm just someone where, if I have an idea, I will put together the planning strategy to make it were. I mean that's essentially what I learned to colleague my superpowers. You know, like those really good relationship sustain them.
Together a plan and something you also touched on is just like my ability to reach out and ask questions. I feel like that. I'm never shy to go about that, but something like
this was I knew I wanted to make a change. I knew I wanted a business that I could scale. That was the key word for me. I had already gone through the life of burn out and you know, put like I said, pouring like blood
twenty years into something. I wanted this to just be able to scale overtime war, and let's talk about that. So one of the things that I feel like so many people question, and especially now,
as is its like. There are so many courses already out there. What could I possibly bring to the table? How is that process for you, because you ve launched your programme and you ve done it now five times in your coming up on number. Six right I am yeah
so I think it came down to the things that we are honestly so close to. So I would have never consider
I myself a sales expert and in it almost kind of makes me like cringe a little bit saying it.
That's just something that honestly.
Come so natural to me whenever I am talking to anyone about their business, I'm always just curious on how they are bringing
people into their business, how their nurturing them their prey singer products we. I was one to talk about like the things that nobody wants to talk about like negotiation and objection handling,
and so finding out that all of those things make other people like very squeamish
Allow me to identify something that I'm really comfortable with and that I want to teach people that they also can be comparable with and it'll help them in their business. So
you're right, I'm actually launching for the sixth time- and this is like all the
for his hand, emerges. I live taught it five times
It's never been recorded before
never been more beautiful than at less than it is going to be whenever at lunch is on September. Nine, but yeah
It truly is something that came
so easy to me that I wanted to make other people almost comparable with and simplify and sold. That's exactly what I did
I love that a one hundred percent and
We have seen this actually at you and I have watched so many people transform and start to understand. Like wait, I thought I was really good at this, but
here's, my real superpower or when we can call out like someone else's gifts, and so often people are so closely
their own genius that they just think its common sense, or everyone knows this, or this is nothing new when really it's like life altering
mind blowing for someone else, it's so true, and I think the more that you talk to people in India.
Age. The more you end up, learning that I think it's when we want to do it all ourselves. Are we want to sort of figure it out on our own, where it becomes so much that we end up doing nothing, but the more than you can reach out and engage with other people?
and find out even where they are struggling or what they want to be better at. You may think, like my goodness, that was something I would have never thought about, but it really is incredibly valuable
what was it like logging in in going through DC a like for you like? When? Were you able to take a deep breath and say this was the right choice, because I feel like whenever we make a big investment or take that big leap of faith, we're almost
waiting to like prove ourselves wrong like Yahoo wrong. You should have done this, wasn't for you. When did you take that first sigh of
belief? Okay, so I love this question in this. Is why so, I think one
I first logged in. I had only ever purchased one course prior to this end.
Logging into DC ay and knowing that it had like these beautiful
videos and these beautiful resources in an almost felt as if you were learning in like a wonder one classroom that
for me is so helpful. I love to see faces are clearly Enzo
knowing that I was going to be able to see Amy's face on there, and I was going to be able to have these in
probably as simple we yet elaborate resources that I would end up having for a really long time. I felt like that was when the investment was going to be worth it in something that I also think that is really important to tell
John is regardless of where you are in your business. It's almost like it meets you. There I mean remember, I did not have a business whenever I buy it easier, and here I am a year later about to launch the actual digital course version
of it and I'm still using the resources nurse. I love that too, because we go through the courts
every year, as well as the team who has been creating courses for six years now and as a team were like
Oh, this is such a great idea, or this is a new way to die.
Do something, and I love it, you say that it means you where you are because Amy
toll motto is, like start, simple, get fancy later and there's so much room to learn. It's like one
They watch a movie five times and you noticed something new every single time in Uruguay. How did I miss that, and I just think that that such a beautiful thing
now. Online learning is something that might not fully resin
or be fully implemented in your business. Now a year from now could totally makes sense,
an extra weight to scale which you of absolutely and I think, even just like action. I feel like action comes from like a certain level of confidence. So the morning you do something it's like, albeit imperfect. The more confidence you're going to gain for the next time so
Oh, I feeling even just getting comfortable and going through the material and even implementing some of it each time your gun
and get better and more comfortable with it, and so I feel like that also will help scale. Your business is because you are not we
getting to take everything in and then trying to implemented all at once. It's like, I know you can allow it to work with you along the way. One thing people ask me about all the time- and I want to ask you this, because I think you might have the best insight is. How did your push path
the fear of people. Judging you for like stepping out on your own and wanting to teach. I think that holds people back a lot more than we'd like to admit. Oh, my goodness so
I really think I have this and I've been asked this question before agenda. So I actually love that you asked me this, but I have
ass, something inside of me in which I am fairly good at quieting what others you know me
feel about me or there? You know what they think I'm doing in my career, I mean leaving a fortune five hundred and going
to a like. A tech start up and leaving a dream job to start my business, I'm sure there's a lot of different opinions and viewpoints and people thinking like oh, my God,
did she really like lost her marbles? I feel
like when you totally believe in what you deserve and what you want and that whatever
However, you define not in your willing to do whatever it takes to essentially get there.
And learn along the way and be open to a feedback from others and investing in yourself. It's almost a little bit easier took
Why it s, because you know you're on the right path, then I feel like for me: that's exactly what its been regardless
what anyone things like online learning or being an entrepreneur in helping other
people with sails? It feels
so natural in me that that almost helps quiet, those voices so good
So since you like talking money and investments and sales, what have here results been like, since you took the leap and then follow,
through in started launching your own thing. What is that looks like for you that this is where I got like super excited? I like it. Let me point my stretching for young people, but leaving only crunch the Numbers- free Jenna, okay, so
coming up on a year in business, we
reached six figure
in seven months.
Turn around out twenty twenty? I will have. Essentially
doubled my corporate salary, so there has been a ton of envy.
This, and I always you know people that have followed.
Me- and here they know, I always one like pull back the curtains and
there has been a lot of investment. There have been a lot of people that have helped me get to this place, so I dont want people. You know just thing
that is no everyone always sort of goes towards that, like first six figures and it is in an amazing accomplishment, but I also want
be so transparent and like there was a lot of investment and coaches and horses and resources
knights, early mornings days in which your on
but you know I like I said when it feels so natural and so in eight to you it's so worth it and I'm like you, almost get giddy for like continuing to grow.
And scale, because you feel like you're just like continuing to like.
Scale this mountain in Europe.
Like. Oh, my gosh. You get all these ideas in all these different things that you want to try all these people that you want to continue to help, and so I feel like that's a lot to accomplish in one year. Yet I feel like there's also like so much more to do and I'm so excited to even changed my business up and twenty two,
Yes, you know you- and I are so much alike because were lifelong learners were constantly you watching launches hat
and in my case, did you see that's webinar. Would you think or studying like, were constantly studying, and we know what to look for now and I feel like at least for me once I mean one investment
and I saw like wow. I get this knowledge once and then I can put my own spin on it. I can test it, I can use it. I can expand with it and involved with it, investing in learning things and short cutting your timeline always make sense in my opinion, and I feel, like you found that super early
just such a gift. Always I mean I'm truly the believer of like somebody
else has likely done this before I don't mean to you know, reinvent the wheel.
Why not like learn from someone in bits and pieces? It's not like you have to like,
a line yourself to one person. You know allow yourself to like a reach out to other people. You know take bits and pieces of information from other people. I think it makes you a better business owner, a hundred percent. I agree. So what's next, for you, you have this launch. You done your launch five times in time.
Lives so that you nailed down your content and now you good to formally put it into a course. What are you excited about
gas, or I am super excited about that because I feel like this is
actually where I wanted to get, were that whole word of like scaling, is finally happening. So, with the imperfect action academy at launching in early September, super excited,
of that and other things that are coming up and just how my business will shift is you know, shit
thing into more of these, like group, mastermind type programme
really bringing these wonderful,
mines of entrepreneurs together and then
even something that will change a little bit more in twenty twenty one. As I get a lot of people coming to me looking for like business strategy and sail,
strategy, and so I want to add a component to my business that
I'll sunlike done for you type services, so that I'm not mapping out all of these things like strategies and all of these
those trainings and then a passing them off for others to implement so really excited
about that, and I feel like that's the exact direction that I wanted my business to go in something that just feels so scalable and effortless. Yes, oh my god
I'm so excited a? You are one of the first people that I think of when I hear somebody be like
we need a blank, I need them and how it is. I have the girl- and I like literally unlike your biggest fan, because it just men so incredible- to watch somebody just implement with confidence and move through some of that seven, you even admitted,
We were like. I was just so worried that this was too complicated, that there were too many things. Tell me,
before we sign off. If somebody is listening and they're like okay, I get it online courses cool, but there's just too many things, it's too complicated. What would you say? Okay, so I was thinking about this and I feel like I've narrowed it down to two things and they're, not going to be things that
He bore like ok, I might not have it, but I will soon so two things that people have like right now because remember like no business, no following
email list. I buy it easier to we
after I resign for my job. I think you need one the desire to
learn. Repeatable process you so this
something that you're going to live.
You're going to be able to use not only in your first year of business, but in your sixth year of business and beyond, and I think you can more fit into whatever works best for your business,
and then the second thing that I think that you made in order to
successful. You know what this programme is. You need to be comfortable with taking that like imperfect action where you just get comfortable,
knowing that ok, I might not be a hundred percent clearer on who I want to serve or what exactly I'm going to teach.
You won't always have the answers. I think the earlier you get comfortable with that kind of feeling and the ability to just make decisions and learn and revise and repeat along the way. I think that will help you
not only in this programme, but just as an entrepreneur. So just those two things- and I think you know those aren't things that people have to really weight to obtain soda Daniel. We're. Can everybody check you
