Episode 1544: An Excerpt from Project 333 by Courtney Carver - The Emotion Chapter - Minimalism with Clothing & Dressing with Less

Courtney Carver was stopped in her tracks with a scary MS diagnosis after decades of debt, discontent, and trying to do it all. She had to slow down, prioritize her health, and figure out what was really important in her life. She discovered what mattered most by getting rid of everything that didn’t matter at all. In the end it all came down to love and health. She went from a busy, overwhelmed advertising director to spending 2-3 hours every morning taking care of herself, loving her work, and being present and engaged with the people she loves. Her family changed, too. They moved from wanting bigger closets, nicer furniture, and more stuff to downsizing into a 750 sq. ft apartment with no storage. Courtney has written books, courses, and hundreds of articles to help you simplify your life and work so you can focus on what really matters.

This is optimal, living daily episode, one thousand five hundred and forty four, an excerpt from the book project. I gusto dot com, slash old, there's, a Jew as tee o dot com, slash o hildy rouse, get right to it, start optimizing, your life an excerpt from the book project. Three thirty, three, the men, was fashioned challenge that proves less really is so much more by corny carver. If you're reading this book, hoping for a recommendation for the perfect pair of genes or a little black dress that you don't want to live without due quick review of your wardrobe history.
Pairs of genes of your own in your lifetime. How many little black dresses. How many stylish bags how's I working for you. The truth is, there will never be an item of clothing that change Is your life or convinces people? You are someone, you are not shopping, mall fixed the past or secure the future More is not the answer before I discovered the power of less reduce, stress and simplify my life. I thought the answer to all my problems was more. I thought I'd be happier with more money, more clauses, space, more shopping, more spending and more stuff. Overall, I thought people would like or love or respect me more. If I did more for them improve myself by doing or in every area of my life, but more or more more din result in more happiness, closer relationships or better health. It is the opposite. My quest for more resulted in stress depression in strange
relationships and eventually led to exhaustion and illness. My favorite place for more was my closet via gained wait, I bought more clothing. If I lost wait, I bought more glow. They hear nothing seem to fit. I bought more shoes in fan upcoming events, I bought more clothes and more accessories to dress up the clothes. If I had a good day at celebrate with a shopping trip, if I found assured, I light about more of them in different colours and then with a black on all the time, if I had a bad day, I'd medicate with more shopping, taking more was one way to go, but it wasn't a good one because it contributed to me sense of discontent, something Right, but I didn't know, but it was miss they're, trying to figure it out it turned to more more stuff, more business, more shopping when things are broken, but bearable feels easier, a first to stay at bearable, rather than address the problems. As I began to let go of things in an effort.
Reduce stress, I felt something a hen felt in many years. I felt light. Also began to feel happier and healthier, so I kept going soon enough less replaced more as a new direction and solution that I had expected. Less was the answer. I noticed, when I have less to take care of war, about and think about, I felt lighter. I remove things from my diet, my calendar and my budget. Then it was time to consider my stuff at first. I didn't think my stuff. The clutter I had collected for decades was trust all, but eventually I realized it was a way mean down and kept me distracted. Once I saw the stuff asteroid I wanted to give it all away. Luckily I didn't otherwise, as might be called project. Thirty, three and thirty. Three thirty. Three at first, I back burner the more in my closet because I didn't want to go there. That's some pretty saw reasons for holding onto the stuff. In my closet after I had spent a law,
for money by all, and some of it has sentimental value. I value also thought people judge me. Oh what I was wearing at all kinds of identity issues and emotions tied up in my wardrobe, so it was hard to think about, put on simplifying other things first and then decided it was time to go into my closet and start project, three hundred and thirty, three more of the good stuff. What to expect from project three hundred and thirty There's one thing you should know right away, you don T get rid of all. All the more in your closet when you start project three hundred and thirty three, in fact, I don't recommend that you do. All I ask is that you hide the extra stuff get everything out of sight when you start the channel there's a method to my man is here, the separation you create will matter later and make it easier Why identify what you enjoy wearing and one needs to go the distance he put between you and your access star for me easier to let go to you simply won't are about it like you did when you had to look at it every day when you open your closet, remember going
to my boxes and stored items after my first three months with thirty three items, and my first thought when looking for everything was was I thinking. Why are they held on for so long? Peace is that I didn't enjoy and never wore. Why do I spend so much time here? bad about our wearing them. A few The and all I could think was time to donate the stuff. You know all the just of eventually went out the door. If I let go of it immediately, I would have won. If I had made the right decision and worried that out would have by everything again creating extra stress take as part of the challenge more cautiously and instead of letting go right away, while the excess stuff fake it by getting out of sight for three months, even alas, replaced more as my go to problem solving technique. I can help us celebrate a kind of more that has come from dressing with less everyone. Experience experience this a little differently, but this is what I've heard from people who try project three. Thirty three one I have more time in the morning, as is usually the first other people notice when they take the challenge instead of spending time
I'm trying on different outfits or strutting about what to where they have time for breakfast meditation. Or starting the day at a slower, more peaceful pays number two I'm saving more money. No doubt about this one. I took my weekly shopping trips to quarterly or even less frequently was project. Three thirty, three number three. I have more attention for what interests me: imagine. If we harnessed all the energy and attention we spend on how we look at what we wear and instead directed towards things that really matter to us into the world than before I get more. Compliments is almost surprise I Sarge receive not only more compliments but different. Compliments instead of I like that, necklace or those shoes are more things like you look so good or what is it about you? That's changed you a great number. Five. I have more com. This is just one of many inside shifts. I given so much power to my clothes. I forgot
let be confident wearing anything. These weren't the only changes people who try to three thirty three noticed less anxiety and more clarity in focus. They reported they and more patients with their children, that they were sleeping better to shift happening in my life and that I was hearing about from others and nothing to do with shirts shoes scarves or bells, changes. We noticed we're hard shifts, you have to start somewhere minimalist fashion, challenge project, three hundred and thirty, three isn't about fashion or clothes, but that's where it starts. When you realize how much stress you can release how much Yes, you can create how much money you can save and how much enjoy your experience, simply by reducing the number of items in your closet you'll, wonder why it and start sooner. This challenge begins with a focused on less in the form of fewer items in your wardrobe the result and insight she'll glean will have very little to do with what's on your hangers instead that we focus on more of the good stuff. More proof that less is in fact, more
if more isn't working for you either try lass. You just us into an exit from the boat project. Three hundred and thirty three, the minimalist fashion challenge that proves less really is so much more by Connie. Carver again the book just came out today, if I more info about that at be more or less dot com, she's also doing a book tour I'm hoping to attend the San Diego event in about a month?
