this is living daily living daily thousand seventeen sixty six what would you do if you have all the money in the world by margo that seems important our com enemy narrator just a moloch reading you blogs every single day of the year top deliver more meaningful life i cover development or self help minimalism productivity and more are other five shows cover finance health relationships entrepreneurship and questions and answers from a life coach can check those out just search for optimal living daily wherever you hearing this too fine all of our shows but for now get right to the post as we optimize your life what would you do if you had all the money in the world are going out of that seems important darker there's a question they ask and self help groups that drives me crazy the question is what would you do with your time if you ten million dollars in cash the first problem with his question is it assumes the people whose
i'll go with what they're doing their lives don't have to million dollars in cash which is wrong the second problem ms it assumes that ten million dollars is enough to free you of your financial burdens which is also wrong because financial burdens after a certain point are sick a lot no burdens and there is no amount of money that can rid you of cycle go burdens you have to actually do the work the third problem is is this ten million dollars pre or post tax and lastly this question socks because the answer is helpful assuming you can get your mind to a place where you can entertain not having a financial burden than the question triggers the paradox of choice problem which is basically that we collapse under the weight of limitless possibility the two long didn't read version more is better when it comes to decision making red paradox of choice by boorish wars the question is supposed to help you identify your true does
fire like if i had all the money in the world i paint every day uncovers you're not so secret desire to paint and then you can first engineer your life to include more painting time more something most humans however dont have a clear cut passion like painting remit more complicated man interested in his question is a bit too simplistic but moreover the answer confuses or rather equates enjoyment and fulfilment which are not the same i enjoy a full bodied earthy cabernet but it doesn't fulfil me writing fulfils me an hour never enjoy it does not entirely true but like i hardly call this fun i thought hard work that i wouldn't trade for the world many what a recent interaction is we re evaluating my stance on this aforementioned garbage question contrary to what cancer culture why you think we humans can in fact change our minds those little snarking what i mean to say is that the gift of being human
is changing your mind banning your worldview and updating our opinion based on new evidence or information would you i've been to me when i may call cows a friend i got to know shortly after he got laid off and became a default stay at home dad cal coward and shame as he told me he recently realise that if he had all the money in the world you drink beer watch reality tv man spend time with his kids he was embarrassed his embarrassed because he believed it is true desires reveal that he was in an ambitious sack of even start going to say for to try and understand what was wrong with them it was an ambitious try harder by such a lazy psycho i start asking calcined questions and to discuss it was pretty mundane which is going to be annoying for you as the reader wondering where the story is guy he's right their due to enjoy his life that's it tat was the world told him was a problem he was
regular due to enjoy life that's it that is what we think is a problem we equals his friends family me probably you even hysterical retain this for a bit bad therapist bad no treats for you his problem was he wasn't striving for anything he was way for it content he was happy he loved i'm with his kids even when he was exhausted and annoyed you like being a dad enjoyed beer and reading books in watching tv and going out with his friends here simply enjoyed his life the agreed more money would be nice he wasn't feeling like his life for his kids lives were wanting this blew my mind i did anyone like hell people i knew who live like how got thereby settling make a cement no circumstances they were deeply unhappy with mary they hate it
but they resented jobs they felt better about must we forget also in addition to the acquisition of stuff i thought i was one of those measures as a seller who had a secret ambition to do more with his life when he first share this with me i agree with what the world told him try harder hustle be more but is actually a pioneer in feeling fulfilled the things most of us are chasing we can't find outside of ourselves yes i roll it's a nice bumpersticker but it isn't gonna pay for your kids college i get it trust me in a world are rewards your sense of not enough this is why we have an epidemic of internal i shame in his car three we live in a world where the most subversive thing you can do is be satisfied with who you are and what you want so would you do if you had all the money in the world same thing you should do now love and except herself i dare you to believe you are enough double
very you just listen to the poles title
do you do if he had all the money in the world by margo aaron of that seems important darksome a real quick thanks to anchor for hosting this pod cast anchor is the easiest way to make upon cast they'll distribute your pod cast for you so can be heard everywhere spotify apple podcast google podcast and many more you can easily make money from your bike ass to with no minimum listener ship anchor gives you everything you need in one place for free which you can use right from your phone or computer creation tools like to record and edit your podcast so it sounds great download the anchor app or go to anchor dot fm to get started taking to margo she reminds me of those self help authors who are sort of anti self help like mark manson which always provides a different perspective because for me of always enjoy that question of what would you do with ex dollars maybe not ten million but twenty or hundred she said that the answer is unhelpful because we usually don't have
clear got passion and equates enjoyment with fulfilment which is a fair point but that's what i'd say to look deeper every answer was a paint although i could take up all your time and if he did for twelve hours a day every day you probably lose your mind and get really sick of it so argue you should think about both what would you do for enjoyment and what actually fulfils you won't take for you to be intent in life like cow in margo story can you simply live now and love and except yourself in is that enough all things to think over whether or not you dont like the ten million dollar question so leave you with those questions of a great day great weekend if you listening in real time and i'll see you tomorrow for minimalist monday where optimal life awaits
