After attending countless business conferences over the years and speaking at even more I became aware of something that was missing. I wanted to create a business conference that was TACTICAL and INSPIRING. I wanted attendees to leave feeling UNSTOPPABLE and EMPOWERED by all of the new tools in their tool kit. That's why I created the RISE Business Conference. I am positive this conference will be the most impactful event I’ve ever done because when someone learns to successfully grow their business, it changes their lives --and their families lives-- for generations. One of the cruellest things that I get to see as part of my job is the manifestation of the product or products that I dreamed up and created and feared out how to do like. So many of you as a business owner, you get these ideas in your head and it is incredible to get to watch them come to fruition, and I started dreaming about one of our most popular products thus start today journal. I served dreaming about this a couple of years ago. I had been doing this daily practice based on several different people. I had heard about several different things in a kind of put them together into one daily practice, which was every single day. I wrote down the dreams I had for my life, but I wrote them as if they had already happened there, something really powerful about claiming a goal as if it's already done, and I wrote down every day- and it was how I set my intentions and then I would post about it on social, and so many people are like what are you doing? What is that? Where do I get that journal and I was like eyes: it's not a journal. It's just a note book, I'm just riding down the same thing every single day, but what I think is interesting, as business owners or creators is often times. In fact, most of the time your audience will tell you what it wants from you and I kept pushing it off because I was like you guys. This is not a big deal, but it was, and people kept asking for- and I finally just thought what, if I turn this into a
product and I started to dream and plan, and I literally taped pictures to the wall of my office, of what I dreamed that my journal would look like in the intention behind it, and I wanted the covers to be really pretty, and I wanted it to be something that you could do once a quarter and then, as you completed, each journal. You'd have a stack of this evidence of how intentional you were about your life and we figured it out, and I mean you know some times we messed up on the shipping and sometimes we rest up on the interior. But we ve failed our way to where we are today, which is the start today journal in the hands of hundreds of thousands of people. So incredible such a blessing for me to be able to go on Instagram and see hashtag start today journal and see people all over the world using this practice as away
to aim in the direction of their dreams. So if you are not familiar- and you want to check it out, you can go over to the Hollis code. Dot com forward, slash shop and find out all about my favorite practice turned my favorite product. And, if you're not in the market, to buy remember that episode. Seventy two of this podcast gives you the exact step by step so that you can do it in whatever note book you have laying around for free, you not to buy a product, but you should be doing is daily practice. It will lose
early literally change your life. I have had this dream for the longest time of hosting a business conference, and I wanted a hostess business conference for a few different reasons. Why, when I M an entrepreneur for sixteen years and everything that I know about running a business being a leader building it, he like everything that I know is self taught self taught through pod cassock, the one your listening to the books, that I've read the Youtube videos that I've watched and when I could afford it. When you know we had a few years under my belt and had a little extra spending money as a business owner going to business conferences so because they have been such an important part of my growth as a leader I had always dreamed about, throwing our own so that the first reason the sector is because, as a keynote speaker of a pretty popular keynote speaker, I have had the honour of speaking on so many stages over the last few years and a lot of those were business conference stages, and when you get that opportunity, you see things and really well, and then you see things we are like ban. I wish this existed. I wish they did it this way, and so I kept thinking of all these things in the back of my head and that's dumb. If you want something any don't see a? U should create it. That's why the rise. Podcast exists. That's why the rise live events exist, and I thought maybe what would it look like if we created a business conference with the same intention that we bring to all of our life events? So we wanted to create something that was high energy motivational, super inspiring striving for excellence, the highest level of team to build their and teachers onstage and all of the stuff right.
But in a way that differentiates from a lot of the other business conferences that I see in the market, I really wanted our attendees to be able to walk out the door with a plan. I wanted them to yes, get inspired and feel motivated, but leave with twenty seven pages of notes and some really solid next steps for how they're going to take their business to the next level. Because look we all want to be inspired right. We all want to be motivated, but if you are small business owner, if you are a medium sized business owner, you care about one thing, first and foremost money you do like. I know: good girls, don't talk about money, but you guys. You know it's real if you're going to be in business next year, if you're going to scale this team, if you're going to grow to the place, if you're going to take care of your family, if you're going to support your you've got to make profit- and I want our students to know exactly how to make
exactly how to be great leaders exactly how to do an email campaign exactly how to take on social media exactly how to lower their overhead or talk about finance or have our conversations or sell. Can I get a witness and to that end I had to call the best people. I know our line up for rise business conference. The lineup is absolutely insane and I keep saying
You can't pay for this line up because we did it. We literally called all of our friends relic you guys, you gotta, look it up. We need you to come and speak on the stage and it's insane its Brennan Bouchard and add my lad and Chris Hogan and Amy Porter filled Emory for LEO and Trent Shelton and Dean Garage, Yossi, Amali Wrong and me and Dave, and it's it's gonna, be fire, but I wanted to give you a taste. I want you to understand what you're in four, and so we thought we do a best of these guess who alot of what you have already heard on the podcast. So if you want to understand what is about to happen, arise business conference November seventh, through the night in Charleston South Carolina police, get your hearts ready for this fire, some of our on stage speakers common in hot. Bees are the tools to change your life and your business. This is the rise podcast at my lad. You know shares
dig about him. As the speaker, he has built a massive. Crazy, amazing, like million Congolese, laid the dollars that sell obnoxious, but it's true business that has now to do with him being a public speaker. Let me end by farmers who grow like all. I know how to I nor to teach you how to do a business, because I a business teaching you how to do a bit, not Not this guy, like has actually built a real thousands of applause. He has so much freaking wisdom and incite. If you listen to him on the right path, gas. You understand the mentorship that comes out of this man. He is bringing fire He is bringing fire. He is re via these things were you're clumsily, humming in buying and not deciding and in the end, not real sure, and it's not ready and all that just so you know Well born that way you ve learned it your children, that way at all.
Your children, and you when you were a child, are constantly jumping in trying things, but they are not ready for. So it is a beautiful part of life and and and we learned this overtime from fears and sometimes records. Don't do that, don't they get stood up and we were all time we start to Hamley and and become indecisive? If you just if you have children just for us second give yourself a gift and think about how beautiful their courage currencies how beautiful they're, taking action without being ready is how beauty all their enthusiasm is in there, and you know the big one. Their curiosity. I actually enjoy not being completely ready, but I work on being prepared all that stuff but once I make a decision on All- and I really do believe. And we ve all heard this before, but like I'm kind of proof of it, a fly plan executed with ferocity and certainty. Certainty
is far greater than the perfect, and executed too late and with timidity, and so I am always executing caught a flawed plants and, of course correct as I go, nothing is always the way in the beginning that it is in the middle that is in the end, but we get started. I can't teach you to drive a part car, it's so many of you and I love. You are trying to dear through your life in a park vehicle, you must get it movie demands forward progress. Massive action with certainty is a killer of obstacles and so going make the decision call the shot right. I just as you go, it'll be. Ok, have some curiosity be more like your children and one thing I'd say to everybody about this, and this is a hard thing to accept it. I really believe in some people use their children as an excuse not to take action, or to take risks or not to go for their dreams.
And I will tell you if you go to here. You know this. If you go watch your children at their Christmas, recital or t ball Game or of a ballet, side of you go, watch them there's the children there who do you see? you see your little one yeah well you're world, and know what that's like everywhere. You go. If you walk into their classroom, you see yours, don't you you see yours guess who your children see, you ready Galaxy Mama. They got one mama, one In their view of the world of what their capable of and how they behave and the happiness level and the joy in the past They see, you don't see a new shapes, their thermostat setting. Shaped their identity. And your children right now. They love you and their proper you because you're their mama, but they're gonna get to an age where they figure out, who you really are just like. You did with your mother and your father
and it's not good enough to say sweetheart, you can be anything you want to be Why aren't you mom Why aren't you Mamma? You? Can you can We, the president, you could start a business, you can you can do anything you want. Will why aren't you mom. And they see this in you? They will know what your children want for you just like you want for them, but accept even more, because their whole view of what is possible, and why is that the prism of your life. And your children. What you to be happy, They want you to be happy your mama They want to see joy and laughed, and happiness and love from? you and through you, and it's not just the love you give them? They want to see that you feel loved they what their mama happy they want. At peace They want her growing we want how many they want. Increasing. They want they only have one mama or one daddy, and it's you
because of that? It's not good enough just to love them. It's not you become the best version of you possible so that their thermostat setting changes because of the example you set it up. Hard thing to say, and I debated whether to share about with everybody today, but I want to big for your children, not that I do, but you know damn well. What I just said is true more. Fourthly, how Marie Freaking, formerly literally, that is how it all day that he agreed to do this. I said Marie king formerly wash your mouth going to eke out right business. She is one of these or most women in this category. Sharing like Kirby school forget it, which is busy school, has been around for years, teaching small business medium sized business owners. Just like you. How tooth
one of the things that you need to do to go to the next level. Also, let's be honest, she has perfect hair. I know that's not the point. If you had a video rang out her like doing that, I mean shining at you, I understood the reality as she is a killer in business and happens to be a woman. Yeah they you, not a woman and business just a bad a killer in business who happens to be who happens to be a woman? Will I think, the phrase in and of itself Everything is figure out of which is a pretty bold statement rate is a real, lays everything figure, audible and I think if they can accept that, but I wanna unpack it a little bit because for anyone listening who might be cynical or skeptical. First of all, I say: welcome to the party ASA I'd love that you are here, and I actually when I first started, writing the buck Rachel. I was out to branch with a friend who has an eight year old son and we are talking about
what projects are working on and and her son was like. Oh what your book, about said in, say the title yeah nice at everything is vigour, audible and quickly. He crossed his arms and he's like no, it's not as I could. This item is like tell me more and he said: well, I, grow human working wings out of my back, and I was like well that's correct as of now in fact, no that we humans can fly and he was like man. You are right, then he's like well, I can get my childhood dog back from the dead. Well, I can't get my childhood dog back from the dead and I was like well, that's
here it as of now I said, but scientists are working on. Cryogenics and people have closed their dog news like move she kind of right, and that inspired me to create some rules around this notion because for anyone whose Lake data thinking in their head right now know everything's, not figure audible. This will help you give yourself a mental container so that you can use the notion to do what it is intended to do, which is to awaken urinate wisdom so that you can achieve any goal, solve any problem and contribute in fleet others. So here's the three rules- you ready for him rule number one All problems or dreams are figure out. Rule number two. If a problem is not figure out, is the problem is a fact of life. Like S, gravity laws of nature, rule number three you may not care enough to solve this particular problem or reach the particular two and that's: ok. Fine,
something you do care deeply about and go back to rule number one so that little rules, that really helps us stay in the zone right and not go to fantastical things and then one more thing, Rachel all before continuing to dig into your question, which is a perfect one. You know a lot of people, often even friends of mine, right there. Like now, this isn't figure like what about what about the really tough stuff like a terminal, diagnosis, unity, mean or death, or loss or grief, and I was like I'm so happy brought up because after I gave the for what happened rage is we started to get letters in the mail and I want to tell week story about a woman named Jen who wrote to us so John said I loved her over talk. It was amazing. I listen to it again with my mom. It's something that she had been trying to teach me my whole life and she's meant my best friend, but then more Something happened. Nothing changed. She was, I, with pancreatic cancer, and all of a sudden think seem trigger audible, but then she said
She took a step back and she more deeply at what was happening and it turns out it was, for example, she was able to get new since care to her mom who lived in a rural area. She was able to find foods that she could actually tolerate and most important. She was able to get medical equipment which allowed her mom to spend her. Last days and in fact, her last five weeks exactly where she wanted to be, which is in her own house and so Gent wrote Thank you so much for sharing that phrase, because I can say without any hesitation that everything is indeed figure audible and you made a huge difference to two women on the other side of the world forever. Random brochure braver shard, is a really great friend of ours. But a regionally was just someone that I admired from afar and his book high performance habit. I read once a year,
I really think he has so many tactical, tangible things that you can do to increase productivity to increase the joy in your life this. That of this guy is banana. He is like. The person who first I mean separate from you, really was reinforcing the importance of the morning routine. How critical getting into a state that prepares you to do your very best for the entire day is important for just chasing after your life and I never met someone in my life who knows more about an email final. If you hear me, Saint Bernard on you like iron, what that means Europe. To go inside matrix because that it we're goin deep. How do I set up daily habits throughout the day, I'm releasing tension from my body? I release intention from my thoughts. I'm loose throughout the day. I can flow and aid to flow How do I mixed from intentional? So I do things like the doorway triggers yes
I love your triggers. I have tat what we want. We really walked in the store before that you are putting the camera MR with all sound great book. We walked through it right behind him and when I walked in, I said the same thing ass. I entered this room, a happy man ready to sir yeah, and you say that every time you after every door, pretty much everyone about gas, but that kind of self talk the triggers the door. And the truth, the door triggers a self doc. When I look in the mirror, I say something that myself, when I their door. I say something myself when you know I said: I'm gonna get foreigners and my alarm. What are you gonna play ass? They have just at these things. I do on a regular basis. I say something myself, not because I need it, but as I want to be an intentional person, and you are the most intentional person I've ever met my whole. I try to be- I don't think, there's any body more intentional Lenny. Dialogue with me just loud dagger he's right, but I think you ve also meditates four hours a day yeah. So I think, piece of it is.
I know that without intention I'm easily distracted I easily feel sad easily can get frustrated with people. I open a place worth. Anger was like a hair trigger reaction, and I can feel that well up yeah If I'm an entry, difficult conversation with the knees, my wife- I I'm I'm like look at this- might be difficult conversation. I might not see eye to eye, but I love her. I respect her. She is my everything Brendan, breathe and listen to and then I walk. If I don't do that, I welcome the room she starts talking and I start talking and off so I can lose myself yeah, so I just think if you're gonna, walk in, tell your kid how to do. Math like going ok, he or she might be really frustrated. This might take longer than I think, I'm antics deep breaths and want to dissociate positive energy with their masses wanted to be a good mom in a situation like, I think
this forget to do, that is simple, yeah everyday thing. Yeah. Can you talk for you, like the the relationship between intention and habit, because you have the intention to do something, but then you attach the habit and that sort of solid. Pfizer in your life. You cause you so do allow these things, even though their theirs, their ingrained in you, but you still like it blew my mind. So set the alarm on your phone. Even though you in that we are slowly alarm on your phone and explain like explain what it is. I think it's an incredible incredible track, but then the these will do it like nine years later, when people are published podcast but let's eat. So when there is mine this morning, my ten a m by two fifty, my six, and my seven thirty two. So these are things you need invest Caesar. But, yes, ok, so people can see what I'm doing so. What I do
and I ve done the since two thousand eight, so I an alarm function on your phone and you set your alarm. You can set labels to alarm, and so what I do is I go in and set a label. An eye three words it I want I want to be. For example, did antennae. I'm. The that alarm. To go off like, for example, did ten I'm this alarm goes off, and this is dynamic, bold, confident, and you know how it is when you're alarm was Iphone, you look yeah. So I didn't do not conceal to dine me as I look goes up. Movement like oh, soon as I see that visual q, it makes me go. Ok, Emma Dynamic right now know I'm pouring Yeah MIT Board, you know, are now I've. Just been kind of like reading, sending back a little bit of not go in for it, and my confident, unlike no, no I'm not coming to. Why am I not covered when you think about that per second, creates a moment of intention to remedy
Then I have ones that are social too, like my seven, thirty, two p m, you see says, give Denise effect I know, but it's, but it really goes off because end, because you know I'm home a liar. The finnish tour. I finished my seminar, tour and I've been home with my wife Denise a lot and I just like anyone else. You can go through our oceans with your spouse. Solidly. You can go to emotions with your kid. You got your motions with their business and I think, going through the motions. Is the ultimate killer tie performance because the problem is when you're high, most competent when you're good down at work. The best is because you are so you're you can the most rest on get stuff a at work thing is because you are so good, kind of rest on our laurels, a little bit cause you can get away with it and because Europe performing people already, but you're, also stealing that full potential
Hey all our next women's conference is only a few weeks away and if you have never attended before this is the events that will change your life rise is a three day: women's personal development conference, where we laughed until we pay our pans and we'd have about our things that we cry and we find community and we create the road map to changing our lives or our businesses or whatever it is that you're working on. If you want to find out more your curious, what it's all about, I highly recommend you go check out the instruments and see what our community says. You can hear it straight from them. It's at, let's rise, dot, co and, if you're looking for the next one, it's happening in Toronto. On March this through the seventh that's Toronto March, there, through the seventh check up all the details at the Hollis code, dot com. If you have been looking for a nudge, if you have been looking for something to kick start change, I promise this is the thing.
I think you have to bees, selective look. I have a lot of friends that very you know using business people, business, women and lot of them just say yes to everything, and they go they go and they go and I watch what does to them. First of all, you, when you have a family, it's a very fine line between saying well but doing this. For my family, you know I'm doing this so that you know we can have a successful. You know them the business- and you know I have to do and then the finite between being, therefore, you know that particular Soccer game or being there for that particular show or the you know, dance recital I everything on a case by hey spaces. You know, saying and I try really hard to
balance. It out. I have em. I always have The thing that I say to my women of my group. You know my friends we talk about this and is what you know, people like Harry Do you seem to have at all? You know you have this husband and the kids in the business you have at all, as I will, first of all now as its a lot of that is you know a lot of knights crying in the shower as we all right, but you have to ask yourself what is your all what's important to you and only you can answer that That's what I tell you. I can't give anybody their answer. You know if they want right now you want to just go back to the wall say. Yes, every single opportunity and go for it and look at Europe Let your personal life and say: hey I'll, be back just hang in there. That's great! If you say you know why I'm gonna do this, I'm going to do that, but I'm gonna make sure you know.
As a celebrity, make a partisan. This was way before I had kids. I lived beyond says life. I lived my clients life, which men if she was at the you know: a football game on Thanksgiving? I didn't have Thanksgiving And I always say I missed for many many years I missed every family reunion, every christening. I can't every. You know I'm vacation because I wanted to build this. Is I want to build this career and it was worth it But now is a forty six year old mom of three oh girls, I do what I think is important. For me as a person, there is the foremost expert in email, marketing, Amy Porter Field who is joining this crew of crusaders. She is literally the smartest person the planet when it comes to my my eyes, she is gonna, be on
giving you the secret spore how you mail can change your business is evidently how do you well and he now list, and once you have an email, is what are you doing with that? Now, if writer, you listen you this year, like hey guys, email is like ten fifteen years you are doing. This is wrong. Come on. I don't care what business come or have. If you are not using digital marketing effectively, you are not going to be in business three years from now seriously says come on down.
What now come on come on I'll teach you how to do this and what now, though, with the one thing that you're doing really right- and I want everybody to hear this- is- and I get this question a light now that I have an email list, what do we do with them? How do I eat them? How do I take advantage of this? While the first thing you do? Is you email once a week and that's exactly what you're doing you need to show up in their inbox same time same place every single week with some kind of great value, whether it be the personal stuff like my favorite nail, polish or hey check out this latest podcast are bought blog posts that I wrote. So that part is your already doing it, and you want to be doing that. That's where you're going to start now from their once. You have a list and people are opening it up and opening up your emails in their used to hearing from you and they like to hear from you taking one step further is building now funnels or campaigns. So let's say you ve got a promotion coming up you want to, down and you want to build out three four
five emails depending on how long this promotions going to happen, where you're going to email more aggressively- and this is where people get nervous and it's so powerful when you get out of your comfort zone and you put together these emails, you say have got this great opportunity. Let me tell you about it: you're linking to maybe a webinar where you're going to explain it or a video. Were you talk about it and then, of course, you're sending them to a sales page or somewhere where they can buy them? only happens a few times a year. It is more aggressive in the sense that let's say I was doing a two week promotion I might email seven or eight times during that promotion. Now, if I email you two times and you don't open up my email, I segment- and I say oh gamma- can send you any more promotional emails over the
x, two weeks, you're, not interested, so we pay attention to whose opening and whose not, but if you're opening- and you have a by yet you're gonna get all of my emails and the magical thing that happens is if you get four or five emails, where I'm telling stories, maybe a case study linking to something really cool may be a challenge in the challenge. I eventually cell, whatever be you are more likely to buy if you continue to offer my emails to the end, most people buy at the end of a promotion. So can like it if YE males over a period of time, is exactly how you get people to buy your email marketing and that's where people get a little bit nervous than that day. I said: I'm not gonna be nervous, I'm going to send all of these Emil's during a two week. Promotion is when I hit my biggest numbers. So that's what you want to do. Next, we are Chris Hogan, onstage, love Chris Hogan, is a killer and he comes out of the Dave Bramley Organization, the Rooms institute. What's it called its deafening?
called an institute honestly Rams Organization is one of the businesses that we admire most soul. Much of how we model how to build team, and how do we do is start with, rotation of me. Guy might well Ramses share the relay do data for real and we won Christa come in and speak on leadership. What does it look like to be a leader to a team of wine or a team of one hundred and twenty nineteen and beyond? And how can we shop in practical ways when we feel for things that Chris always says is a boss helps people get better at their job, a leader? He will get better at their life, that's good! That is good, but the people Tom Bill. You forget about Tom Bill, you. I will not forget about Tom, because time is a mad awesome, human being and a crazy entrepreneur. He built with his wife, LISA Quest Nutrition and for good,
in dollars. Congratulations now now he's focusing on impact in literally creating a studio that will rival Disney with impact theory. He is, an amazing guy and his superpower is mindset. And he's gonna come in and rock this place with just a way to think completely differently about all the things that are gonna get your way and have failure is for you, so he is a killer. Really good point is that we are approaching this conference holistically. This is not just how do you know? This is not just leadership. This is also the emotional. I don't care who you are if you are an entrepreneur, whether you are a mighty team of one or you are managing a team of one hundred there's so much psychology and emotions wrapped up in this that it, even if emotions you're, like a dude and like you want to rub some dirt on it. You want to look on getting
hold that unpacking baggage. That comes with the psychology that you wrap. Rounder business is truly the thing that is abstaining, You and the life and the company that you want to create. Speaking of companies who want to create that was a really dumb sex but can we don't entrench shelter, Trent Shelton guy? You have been with us at comments before he spoke at last. But in order to get to the other side, you have to walk through that door and so realities that first thing. The second thing is release. And people say: don't buy em bridges, there had bridges, you shouldn't by for sure, over a little things dont bar and bridges, but there are bridges in your life that need to be burned because certain things that your life cannot afford to go back to ya.
