Let's go get one of the cruellest things that I get to see as part of my job is the manifestation of the product or products that I dreamed up and created and figured out how to do like. So many of you as a business owner, you get these ideas in your head and it is incredible to get to watch them come to fruition, and I started dreaming about one of our most popular products thus start. Today journal, I served dreaming about this a couple of years ago. I had been doing this daily practice based on several different people. I had heard about several different things and I'm gonna put them together into one daily practice, which was every single day. I wrote down the dreams I had for my life, but I wrote them as if they had already happened there, something really powerful about claiming a goal as if it's already done, and I wrote down every day- and it was how I set my intentions and then I would post about it on social and so many people. What are you doing? What is that? Where do I get that journal? And I was like guys: it's not a journal. It's just a note book, I'm just riding down the same thing every single day, but what I think is interesting, as business owners or creators is often times. In fact, most of the time your audience will tell you what it wants from you and I kept pushing it off because I was like you guys. This is not a big deal, but it was, and people kept asking for, and I finally just thought what if I turn this into a product and I started to dream and plan- and I literally take pictures to the wall of my office, of what I dreamed that my journal would look like in the intention behind it, and I wanted the covers to be really pretty, and I wanted it to be something that you could do once a quarter and then, as you completed, each journal. You'd have a stack of this evidence of how intentional you were about your life and we figured it out, and I mean you know some times we messed up on the shipping and sometimes we rest up on the interior. But we failed our way to where we are today, which is the start today journal in the hands of hundreds of thousands of people. So incredible such a blessing for me to be able to go on Instagram and see hashtag start today journal and see people all over the world using this practice as a way to aim in the direction of their dreams. So if you are not familiar- and you want to check it out, you can go over to the Hollis code, dot com forward, slash shop and find out all about my favorite practice turned my favorite product and, if you're, not in the market, by remember that episode. Seventy two of this podcast gives you the exact step by step so that you can do it in whatever note book you have laying around for free you not to buy a product, but you should be doing this daily practice. It will literally literally change your life.

audience, because you're offering them something authentically to you: you're, not selling you're, offering them a better way of life. Welcome to the day as pot cast, my name is Rachel Hollis and I've built a multi million dollar media company with a high school diploma and a Google search bar each week. We'll share direct, tangible advice for inspiring interviews with the same intention bees apart
tools to change your life thanks. So much for hanging out with me today, guys I'm doing a solo episode, I actually
the audience a couple of months ago. What were the specific areas that you really needed, help or guidance
or tangible wisdom in and for the ones that I had no idea how to answer really well. I have called and reached out to some new friend
then acquaintances, and we have so many fun things. Ass, many fun interviews and just great wisdom coming your way to answer that specific question. But we are
there were some that you asked for that. I felt like I could actually answer myself and share my knowledge on so today I M going to tell
I'm going to talk about how you can use Instagram to sell a product. This is for
of listeners and our friends online who do drink cells. Direct marketing lots of you have your own Etsy
at sea, sharper, your own side hustle, or you only
while business set specifically sells a product, and I wanted to talk to you about how
I have used Instagram too honest.
The most recent thing is to sell to sell books. I sold quite a lot of books and abuse and swam is a great platform to do that on by it.
I've also sold events tickets. So it's important to start off by saying that, on,
small side? I could be selling something that's ten dollars and on the largest,
and I'm selling you know our couples event ticket is to people who get in so the event tickets. One thousand six hundred bucks. So I use Instagram to sell both low and high price items, and I want to tell you exactly how I do that. I think it's worth saying that
this conversation can fill a little sticky,
Robert, like you're, looking behind the curtain and the wizard of OZ, seeing behind what we do and for
people that feels like all. I thought that you just magically were selling books or imagined they were having events, and I love it. You think that, but the truth is
I am a businesswoman. There is
staff of people who work with me, who count on the work that we do here to help pay there
bills and ran on their part men and to be able to afford a car
months so yeah? This is a business. We take that really seriously generous.
Of seriously, and we work hard on the to bring a product that were really proud of, but
requires us to sell and
from my sister s or listening to this, you have a product that you want to sell, but really struggle wish
feeling like it makes you feel uncomfortable to ask for that. Sell a wanted to talk about Instagram, because today- and I know what it's gonna look like six months from now or a year from now, but to day Instagram is the single biggest contribute.
To actually selling a product for me, and
really intentional with how we do it and we pay a ton of attention to what the audience responds to so we're, sir.
That product in a way that fills organic and beautiful and doesn't alienates Oliver fans
is also were saying that this is their two different things here
on is using in surround us all product and, in
other one another podcast that I'll do is using Instagram to promote local business. So there too
What things in their two different strategies for both of those so Viva.
Core business. You might be able to find some wisdom here, but of a
I will do one, that's just for you guys
as per Schroeder? I of notes in no bunch of notes and their
regular order and they're kind of sloppy, but I think there is a tunnel wisdom here. I will tell
you just to give you a point of reference. So as I'm recording this for you, I have a hundred and nineteen thousand followers uninstall room praise. The Lord, which is something that I've spent a lot of years, working on
when back in the day, Facebook was my number wine platform and in fact I will tell you. I have a hundred nineteen thousand hours on Instagram. I have constantly.
Seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars on Facebook and
surrounds cells will weigh more product for me than Facebook. Does that's probably a great place
start is knowing where your audiences, and which platform works best for you to sell the specific thing that your time,
so, if you're not really sure, I would begin by looking at whether what other people and your field, where
They sing a lot of success. What did they have a ton of followers, whereas that, whereas there are of huge presence for the kind of product that you're selling choose your plan
based on that you can absolutely ever presence in both places, but for today I'm going to talk about
how to start off a trains going to go. Buy me right now, just we're going to go with it. Cuz, that's real life. To start off. I would suggest that you, if you don't already do this, you
to follow people who also sell the same product as you, and let me out
heavy ought to that. You want to follow people who sell the same practice you and who are crushing. It
if you're in direct sales, who in your organization, are the leaders who are the highest revenue generators or who are the influencers in your
days that sell that specific product you want
follow along with those fields. As many as you can see, you can get an idea. What's trending,
now in your industry as well as get inspiration the number
One thing that I hear from people is the about what I want put on: what are putting their. What am I
to put on my on my social media on my answer. Random, like check out what other people are doing
and use it as an inspiration
the time I will see. Another wife saw influence your post, something maybe it's an outfit or
idea. Why are certainly that they shot the photo to something that I really think is beautiful. Another screen shot it and saving on my phone and the next time I wanted to create something and dont know. What to do. I will use
It inspiration to get me going. Don't let me add a p s here, don't copy other people's content,
it is a huge. No! No and the space is the quickest way to.
It yourself, I'm sort of sat at
for yourself as just don't do it everybody, nobody, nobody likes it, just don't even
So you can see a lot of times all use. Maybe someone I do like a flatly which is when a year sort of the cameras it has a view from the top and you're looking other products there laid out beautifully and all the inspire
because someone put flowers in their flat lay that'll, give me inspiration, but flowers in mine, but I won't do the exact same set up because it
really is you're, taking someone's creed
poverty in their intellectual property? In some they may work so hard to create near making at your own and that sucks as a creator super sucks. So
be really thoughtful about how you
fired, but not that you were stealing so number. One piece of advice is follow. Other people who are killing it in your field be
you're saying that is a huge deal to me, and I think hopefully
You will see this in my feed. But it is the number one piece of advice that I give to our brand partner. So far,
years, big brand partners have brought us end to advise them on social
in strategy and what the photography should look like and how they could speak to women, just like you in a way that fills organic and beautiful and the best advice I can offer.
Is stop trying to sell a product, sell the lifestyle that you will have when you use this product for
stance, if you are selling not even at sea,
and you're sayin graphic tease
laying your graphic teacher on a piece of wood and taking a picture of it is fine. But if you,
wondering why that's not really Resnick? Why that's not really selling anything is because a special,
if you have women
or buying from you. We want to see the wife
I also show me like:
the more with their hair and a ban on whose having coffee and chaser kids in the house and going to soccer on Saturday wearing your graphic t, show me the way.
Style that I'm gonna have when I use that top, because otherwise it's just a teacher- and I could get that anyway
but you are selling me a lifestyle. It's I don't know
lemon. Lulu lemon is a really great example of a company they so worked out close and, if you ve ever bought them.
For you know that they sell expensive work out close. We are,
a man leggings, because
They somehow make us work out more or they make
stronger where they make us better or more likely to go the jam we buy Lou,
lemon because were buying into the lifestyle of the brand
we think man, if I spent one hundred dollars on these leggings, unrolled just like that girl whose doing yoga every morning in the park armor or just like that person whose run
a marathon their sallying, it's like any of these big brand.
Are selling you the lifestyle if you get Nike, or indeed, as or forever twenty one like you
can any of them? Nord storms are all selling a lifestyle. What is a lifestyle associated with a product that you are trying to sell? That is an important place to start.
You understand that you're, not if you're, just you're filling your feet with picked
literal pictures of the product. You're selling you're not styling it anyway, and it's not. It has no human touch. There's no connect
and there's no picture that your painting for your viewer ay. That's why you don't have many far
where's away, you're, not growing your followers and be that's not that
you're, not singing the sales that you want to see so think about the lifestyle, not just the product. My third thing,
actually Niven mine. I originally heard this from Jenna Culture has an incredible podcast called Golden.
If you guys, have not listened to the gold digger podcast you want.
That to your library immediately, Jenna is
such a dream bow and she shares so much great, tangible wisdom that tends to be around digital marketing and social and everything in that space, and it was actually Jenna that I first heard say this:
a very simplified that your instagram,
What are the five things that your brand is most known for now? I am sure that some of you have fifteen things that your brand is most known for, but we're trying
is that your brand is most known for, but we're trying to simplify and give yourself some direction in terms of the content they are going to put online. So it doesn't
they serve you and it doesnt serve your audience, because I can't really pinned down who you are, if you just gonna, put a whole bunch of everything. What other five things that you think best to find your brain
and a line with a product that you're selling, for instance, if you,
go to my answer am feed you organist,
a lot of the same stuff, you're gonna see,
small style, personal growth
You're gonna see that I'm a mom you're gonna, see that I'm an author,
and you're gonna, see that I am really proud. Businesswoman down
is what is most likely to pop up in my feed and you'll see it manifests over and over because that plays into the brand that I am putting out into the world. It also plays into all the things that I all the products
selling. If I tell you on Instagram about one of our live events, it's not going to strike
is odd that all the sudden I'm throwing alive event for thousands of women because you're lucky
I've seen Rachel. She travels attend for work. I was in honour and swam she's always doing keynote
features. Oh, I saw the the
asked him. She didn't event on there. It makes total sense you does. It strike you as crazy that I was there
you're saying that, so what are the five things that define you
and I am sure I will find it I'll put it in our shown. Its vagina has a great pike us on this link to it. If you guys wanna go listen to how she gets into it, but defining the five things are defined,
you said they are I into a really clear idea of exactly who you are. It also is,
clarify your message, so
there's not a bunch of different crazy staff. Everything I've keeps pointing
This is why I am this is what my brands about- and this is what you can expect to see if you're following along

I love hearing what you think and seeing what you're up to, and it helps the tribe remember to go us into this week's episode thanks so much the fourth thing that matters a lot you guys in fact most Instagram is for pretty photos now. If you are, though, rock, if you
Ellen. If you are Oprah, if you are
major, celebrity you can put any
you want on Insta
and it will get five billion likes. Congratulations! That's awesome, but for them
Rest of us Instagram is for pretty photos and I always
make people sad when they hear that when I speak about this at conferences, because I like what I don't have a photographer, I dont have this. I dont know enough says you do not need all the
fancy Sofie needed just be more strategic about what you're putting what you're putting in your feet. So I would suggest that you pay
engine, if you're not already following some people who create gorgeous lifestyle photos in their feed start following them, so that you can get some inspiration, but
just looking at my own instagram feed if you
check it out,
you will notice that, hopefully hope notice, two things, one
I notice that I shoot a lot of pictures on a white background. That is because
is. I'm gonna have moments where my photos are a little bit darker, where I don't make a bond and I'm home with my kids and I
balance that out with white. So if you go look on the feet, I know this doesn't make a ton of sense right now, if you're not looking at it but you'll, see
For every time I do a dark photo. I then balance the next one with something that there is a lot
negative space, meaning there's a lot of space in the photo that doesn't have anything in it, and it tends to be why
and I do that, because when you look at my feed altogether, hopefully it reads really
clean to you, even those a lot going on with lots of people like all sorts of different things.
Some people of color some people have to have a signature color. They just use pink everywhere, whatever it is.
Just decide what it is for you and then be really intentional about making sure that that's what you got in your feet? Sex
thing. I'm gonna tell you is that all of my photos, with the exception there, some pics
on here from rise, and I really wanted to share those cause. I just love the event so much, but for the most
every single photo you see here is shot in natural light, meaning I might
outside, in not indirect sunlight, but I'm outside so got that natural. Why on me or I'm near a window facing the natural-
why it sounds really odd. If you're not a photographer, that you're like. Why are you cannot much? Well, I can't
much because natural light makes us look five million times better than being in a dark room or being inside. So if you're like me,
I really wish that I could take pretty photos with my I found. The Iphone is an incredible camera sure, whatever phone you have is an incredible camera. The the issue may
we the phone. The issue may not be the camera. The issue is probably
relighting, so I never use a flash. I'm always an indirect. Now
for light, and it makes a huge difference. Like all, why saw him
answers, you can absolutely use the same outfit, the same shot, the same boat or shoot moment more than once. If you are what
especially adorable today, and you want some picture sphere and ceramics, get a tight shot, meaning get one? That's a clothes, get a full outfit, get get your product when you're close get your product when you're far away she threw shooter
apple, different angles and save them on your phone and then use them, spread them out over a few weeks or over a month. This is a great idea for people who are like my sister owns a bakery, and I'm always like now. When you make only a gorgeous cake, they did for someone's birthday, get five shots
get a super tight shot of the icing that looks kind of artistic get ashore
of the whole thing, get a shot.
Hands are holding it, get a bunch, a difference of saved on your phone. Now you ve got content for weeks. You also want to think through a photo.
Be two things were in a good of hake level to an answer and majestic with me for a second there to spot that photos on its ram show up. One is that it shows up in your feed to your current following. So you know that
right. If you follow me on Instagram and I post a picture of me, a Noah you're gonna see come through your feed and you're gonna hopeful
like it and a move on with your life, the other place that you need to think of that
now, is how it looks in your feed. So click! Ok!
as we are listening to those or maybe later today goaded or Instagram, and look at your feet, the entire feed in it
dont know him talking about click on you.
Bio and issues. What does the tiles, like all your photos? Look like old tells. How does that look when you look at them together? Does it is pretty
do they clash. Do they go together is its supervision. I win hideous and you need to do some editing and you need to get rid of all the stuff that doesn't look like what you want your brand to look like PS, you guys it's totally okay, to delete, photo
you absolutely should be doing it if you gotta go
feed right now, there's something that sticks out to you as just now,
all the brand that you want to put off. You should be deleting it. This is a this is a work tool and serve as a tool for your work. I assume, as are listening to this it, so you can sell products. This is your job or your side. Hustle you absolutely
You'd feel encouraged to remove something that doesn't fit, but you want
sure, as you're going through
Your posting, the not only is it gonna look at when it comes through someone's feed, but it also is gonna look good. If someone
on your name, why that matters is because every time a new followers considering following you, you do this to write. You go click on their feet and you see the pictures and out. I came to tell you how many times and even though the person does, but their feed is so pretty. I'm like I'll give you a chance I'll, follow you save your feet
is obvious. That could be. Why you're not getting the followers that you want to get a really great example of this. I'm gonna keep it here, even though
my shame was so sad about it and when you listen to this, you may have to score back one of it. So you can see I inadvertently posted to quotes. I share a lotta quotes, cause I'm into personal growth, and you guys know this so I share to quotes, but I did
pay attention to how they were in a look in my feed and just staring at her- and I was like looking at the sun, it makes me so sad, but it the two courts are right on top of each other. So now, there's like this weird. Why
space is like pictures all around of me and knowing me and Dave, and the kids and dinner I ate and then in the middle of these two quotes, one on top of the other will make more sense to go look
but it makes me so sad it so wrong for my feet. I sound crazy
have our yes to both those things but still, but both quotes did so well that I didn't feel comfortable deleting members, people
written such nice things and they commented about their own trauma and I was like will now. I can't delete this this one, but all of that to say if I had just double checked
for I posted it. I would have realised that that was going to happen, so just pay attention to your feed the best tool I can.
For you for Amsterdam, is an act that we use called plan. Early, P, L
Anne. Oh, why plan it's free, and you can
schedule out your instrument posts way in advance. My reason I like this app is because you can see how your feet is. Gonna look, so this is typically where I write Instagram posts so that I can double check out. Gonna look before I can double check. I was gonna look before it goes like
and, if only I had done that in this instance, I wouldn't be here telling you my sad sad story: plan big when
I guess it's worth talking about that too. This is something else that makes people sad because they don't
want believe that I plan out man surround it, want to believe that it's all in the
oh man, good NEWS, my instagram is fully done by me. I'm the one riding in I'm the one figure. Now a lot of times on the one taking that photo, but ninety percent of the time at scheduled in advance, unless it's like
I am travelling in you see me, like my. If my instance story outfit matches the outfit I just put on Instagram that I'm doing in the moment, but for the most part I am scheduling in advance, and I do that because it's really important for any business
that you stay in your feed in the field of the people who are following
I think you know this, but let me just explain how the algorithm an Instagram works is the more often you like the photo offering
age with the phone or even cause, there's lie in their smart there's plenty people that I just like stare at the photo for wait too long and read the copy, but I don't like it that some terrible, but like the rock, like I love the rocks and
remember not liking his photo. He's got ten million likes. He doesn't need mine.
Instagram knows that I like his feed, because I always slow down when I see a picture of how that being sad, your your audience is only going to see you're in
to post if they like or look at them. Often so have you are if there's a week that goes by since you last posted something
you're in trouble, because now the algorithm has seen that none of your peeps like what you're doing the just and just
as you have posted- and there are less likely to see this once you want to make sure that you are,
staying present, you guys listen to Mama, but for me you gotta
post at least once a day and Instagram seven days a week
someone somewhere just had a small panic like I don't know what what am I going to put it? I don't know sister we're going to figure it out together, but this is a business that you have. This is not a hobby. This is a business. If you're trying to sell a product, you have a business, you need to take it seriously and I
told you about an app plan. Really this is not a paid add. I wish it was a pay them a lot of money to have a business account, but I just told you about an act that you can use for free you set aside a couple of hours you scheduled out for the weak
and then your sat and ready to go I'll tell you. I usually get some silly, but I get a blow out on Monday mornings a lot of times, and I use my blog time. It is take my laptop I log into their internet and I plan out the weak and instagram posts, while I'm getting my heard them. So fine, the time in your life is taking more than an hour to schedule,
seven days worth of photos now, if you're, if you want a level up in a man,
world in a perfect world, I'm doing three and surround post today, but worse
Case scenario, at least one, the other thing that I wanted to talk to you about is correctly usage of your answer. Em
I have a really bad habit of offering unsolicited advice to people who did not ask me like just brands, I love or maybe authors. I love that I'll see them do
They are like all, that's how it works. I'm sure you'll know this, but I'm just gonna say in case you don't the only there's, only two places that you can link out on Instagram one is the link in your bio, so you'll see a lot of people right link in Bio. That's because if you tap on summons profile picture, there's a there's website that you get to fill out in your profile in your bio. That's your website! We change that link five,
at times a week, because it's an easy way.
You can type and had directly out of its to the link that we want you to go to. Sometimes I see people put a link in the
the comment in the copy of the photo that does literally nothing for your audience.
That may be annoy them because nobody's gonna take the time lesser something super simple, like your website: dot com, Ford, Slash, email, that's pretty simple on now be able to remember that. The other day I saw someone do like a fool crazy link with Like Ford, Slash, backslash number excellent
but I am like. Oh my god, you nobody, nobody can take
at an and it just shows the her heart was in the right place and she didn't know that it wasn't something they can access, but as a business person, your goal should be to offer more value to your customers in anybody more.
Oh you and if you are too lazy to do something that makes it easy for them to access your product. That's on you.
So number one. You can put it in your profile and you say: hey guys, tap, that link in my profile. Number two is: you can use the swipe at feature and instant stories, and that happens to ways one. If your verified mean you got a little blue checkmark by your name, you can swipe up and
link all day long put your insta stories and I'll tell you guys if you have access to the swipe up feature you
are the it's like the number one way that we sell things hands down
without question. Be number one way is: is through swipe up on its role.
But here's the magic recently
interim changed its rules where, if you are a business account is to be a business account, not a person, a business account, and you have at least ten thousand followers. You get the swipe at feature, and I don't know that it something that their advertising to people. So if you don't already know this and you don't have ten thousand hours yet this was not my less, but I feel like that. My question is the question be working to ask: is how do I get more interim followers? The best advice,
that I have for how you get and sovereign powers is that you take better.
AIR of the Instagram followers. You already have taken
of the audience, it's there take care of the tried that sir every single person you comments needs a com. It back.
The very least you need to like, but those
immense in those direct messages are often where people are asking you about the product that your warning them to buy? I think of interim Dm Facebook dams and comments as our customer service that where people are asking us how to do what we're doing
what a huge opportunity for you to be present and answering the questions and creating community. You also have to be willing to ask ask them
Hey guys, you know anyone like maybe sheriff funny quo and you're like do you know any one who would love this tag them below Tiger friend below the number one way that people follow me or any influence, or is that some
when tangs them in a photo, and they see the photo and probably you to write like your friends like. Oh my gosh check this out and then you in the following that person hashtags matter,
but honestly. Well now I tell you this
perhaps tat lovers. I'm gonna give you a little heads up. Not all have sex are created equally and if you are a small business, if you have a smaller following using the biggest hash
The planet is a waste of your time, because if something has four million, if you type in hashtag mom, that's gonna
literally millions and millions of people looking at it, which means you
picture is only
be in the feed for hashtag mom for four minutes:
before there are so many other photos with that tagged that yours is pushed to the bottom. You want to tag on things that have fifty thousand tax or a hundred thousand, so
that you have a chance of being seen by people who were interested in that exact, faint, but ultimately
I mean I did how shucks for years and that hasn't been anywhere as effective as word of mouth by people who
telling their friends to follow me remit,
when you're selling a product guys that you know I talked about. The lifestyle show me the lifestyle Gimme, the visual lifestyle that this product is going to fit into. But the other thing that you need to remember is that you are not you not selling the product. Your signed, the result of the product, that's how you sell people.
Heard oh gosh
the girl and you should till they foreign and swam she so Q, who did spanks
one of our main aim of Sarah likely so Sarah likely said,
ass. She was like I never sold spanks I sold women a flatter Tommy, I never sold.
Thanks. I sold women, no Panny lines, she's
the result of her product, not the product itself, in the same way that I feel like grow wash your face has been successful because we were talking about what you would get from the experience of reading the book not just buying the book itself, and I feel like I would be a jerk. If I didn't talk to you about
the cell strategy we had and have behind Selinger wash your face and there's a part of me that
like a man, it's it it like
don't ever want to feel like there's a part
me that hesitates to talk about a cell strategy for something that so many women are so passionate about, because I don't want to be disingenuous, but on the flip side, I'm gonna go back to the idea that this is a business there are people
counting on this business being successful in order to live and be it never feels weird or creepy or grows to sell
thing when you believe in it in only four
those weird or creed be or gross, when you're trying to put something
You don't really believe and I believe deeply in the book
I believe in the power that it has to be helpful to women. I believe deeply
The live events that we do because of experience.
And because I know how hard the staff works, because I know the things that we get back, I believe in what it is that were offering. As a product and so
I'm not gonna apologized for selling it to you. That being said, there are two really important things that you need to know one, and I cannot stress enough the greatest book that exists,
for social media on the planet is by Gary Vainer Chuck and it's called job jab job right hook. It's the idea that for every single
ask so for every single time. I want to ask you to buy them,
every single time. I met a mention of events tickets. So we have four salvaged every single time, a mention a product or sign up
email, and I always say
people like well, how do I know if it's and ask does it have a lake?
linking to something you're asking them to go somewhere else. That's an ass. The idea behind this book is that for every ask for every right hook: you're gonna, jab, Jab jab three times, meaning
an offer you three things at no
I'm an wisdom, I'm an offering insight, I'm gonna make it
laugh, I'm in a show you a pretty picture, I'm an offer. You content that you have come to enjoy
me way more than I ask you to do something that
I mean we have with the Sheik site. We ve got
thousands and thousands of pieces of content for free
EL available that we gave away for years before we ever one
I asked the audience to do anything and I think that part of the success of grow wash your face is because I work,
so hard to give the audience so much for no costs that when it came time to have
product. They were so supportive because they had gotten so much value from me over the years. So that's another one. You gotta, be
offering so much values that when you are asking, when you are mentioning a product, it doesn't
across as gross because you have been such a value added in their life. It makes total sense that they're gonna want to support you back. The other thing that's been really successful.
Us with Instagram and the book, and I hope that when you hear this you're, like I don't even notice is- we have continually talked about this book all week long every week since it went on so continuously, but we ve done it in five different ways. We ve done a bunch of different kinds of content that all is talking about the book. So, for instance, there are
Sure of me holding the book there are quotes from the book. There's user generated content from the book theirs.
Uninstall stories, we ve done reviews from readers. We ve done
hashtags, that people can use hashtag grow, wash your face. Hashtag reach times target we have shared beautiful flat, lay so we're we're talking about the book
the visa wall and the copy is different every single time, so some people.
Even realise there just like uh pretty picture, that's pretty pictures liking it and they may have already read it. So does even matter to them: they're just sing a pretty picture and going with it
this is a new follower or a new friend on mine. Maybe is like a with what its rise ritual holding this book.
This all about someone told me this recently and I loved the reminder. She was a girl. You have got to give your audience a chance to buy your thing if you think that sharing
one time or five times or even ten times is enough. You're you're, dumb frankly be
eyes, your audience, a small small percentage is even seeing that individual post,
so you're gonna have to pose multiple times and even then they are good
have to see it multiple times before they take action.
As long as the visual changes as long as the copy changes, my experiences
it does not alienate your fan base. You alienate people when you
Gerda, take the same thing over and over when you show the same photo over and over Israel as law,
is your serving them beautiful content. They don't mind
and he knows honour, I was on a call recently with a bunch of authors, and we were talking about this idea and a beer.
Is better than me who are like
I'm not gonna, use my social media to promote my boy,
I don't want to annoy my fans. They know they know that
a book. If they want to buy the book, they can pull gas certainly, but there are plenty of books that I want to buy,
Products that I want to buy, but I
see them in the moment, and I am
Z or I'm dealing with my kids in a clear and all it would take
just one more night, just one more ask for meat. It TIM move on that. But if you're, not
to talk about it to the audience. What are you doing?
If you want to have an answer from you, just want a beautiful instagram for your wife.
Tat Stick, that's all some but instruments, my favorite social platform, it's my favorite one personally for me to look
but at the end of the day this is a marketing tool. This is achieved
For me to speak to my aunt
in a very specific way to share deed
of my wife and hopefully offer encouragement and wisdom, and I hope make you laugh, but it's if this is a business, and I think that
especially women. We ve got to stop apologizing for creating something we ve got us up
pricing for having something to sell. Yes, if you
I, like you know you know we all have
cousin that started selling Lula row and do you know, then all this
We were getting twenty seven facebook poster today about her Lula, row, business and all
he's doing was just lagree sharing someone else's staff in your like, oh April, we get it. We now sweetheart, please that gap don't be that. But if you are offering value and wisdom and sharing my k, I sell noonday, and so I know that my followers are probably women who care about style and care.
Jewelry and care about working with partners,
I'm gonna, make sure that I am all kinds of content that speaks to that. That isn't just asking you
by something I'm gonna be com, I'm gonna become be expert in this area. I met to become the person that you want to follow so that you can find out about these sorts of details, offer more
you and then selling is way more natural because their already coming to you for what's new and
oh and different and fine, and now you're, like hey
the show you how this product has changed my life. Let me
Oh you what my body looks like now and I mean I think, that's it's also worth saying just as aside now as I started, citizens like away the or my friend
I was telling you this in person, I would say you will have way more success showing not telling in when I go to authors conventions in car
This is something you hear a lot about in writing. They'll say, show dont tell meaning of the you sell beach body, product and
your body looks amazing. You lost the last
pounds that baby way you never looked better. You ve never had more energy show me that show me that in pictures of you, you know at the beach
show me you, you know with your weight watchers me I'll, show me you with you
Stella dot. Jewelry on, show me then, when people in the comments and Indiana ask you where you got it or how you can
stir them with links. You can answer them with exact details versus. I can't tell you off, and this is just the truth you guys are going to go inside. If I am let's say, I'm wearing an outfit and a lot of time like I'm not a fashion
sir solar times, I'm just where an outfit! Let s I think my genes
with you I'm. Oh, my gosh, you guys these genes are so cute. I just wanted you to see. Nobody
about the genes. Nobody cares about the genes, but if I just
so the photo and said like gorgeous sunny day in California,
blah blah blah everybody asks about genes because
there's something in that language in the language of your copy. That can feel sales. You, when you say things in air,
We photo like ask me for more information. Let me too,
I got this dream body. Let me show you what works for me that can be off putting I'm not saying that you don't do it every once in a while, but be mindful and your copy. Seventy five
Percent of the time just show them the lifestyle people will start to ask. You will start here,
sure, don't even know you sell that product yet because you got these photos that speak to a certain live. I hope that made sense. That was honestly just a gigantic brain damp of everything, but I could think of
as per use a guy. I hope it was helpful and I just want to encourage you for those who are listening. If you made it all away the end, that means that you are in the process.
Of dreaming on this business or working to sell a product or working to grow or working to scale you're trying to get
every single tool and peace of wisdom that you can with how
do that and sister just on to you in this space. It is not easy for most people to step into a cells, role,
some uncomfortable. We have learned that it's something slimy and gross, particularly for me.
Mr Sharon direct sales at spoke with? Some of them
You said like how do we get around the stigma that attached
rex Sales- and I just want to incur
you, and I want you to think about the idea that you are buying.
Into that: the fear of being a sales person, the fear of being offensive, the fear of being signed
all that you're buying into it, and you know why
your audience, can tell because it doesn't feel authentic if you're, that scared of selling it doesn't feel off intact. But if you just stop that negative talk, you snap yourself out of it. If you leave,
the to what do I love about this pattern? Why did I get into this business? Why does this matter to me start from a place of
Jane and excitement and beauty you will find
audience because you're offering them something authentic to you, you're, not sound,
you're, offering them a better way of life, and if you don't believe that
you shouldn't be in the industry that your end, we shouldn't be trying to solve product. You don't believe in cause when
