Hey, What's up crystal about, hear your host outside apple school. I got an interesting listener question today. It's essentially about reselling, free stuff or riesling stuff that you get for free. This guy in particular receive some free display equipment at a trade show wants to know if you can resell it without worrying orders. This create some kind of ethical dilemma. I thought was interesting question because I used to be really into free stuff. Ok, like I would do a lot for free stuff and probably too much like. I was the kind of person that, if I was at the grocery store, they are giving out free samples. I would take the sample. Even if I didn't like that food, you know I would make a coffee at night at the copy was free. These are just a couple of examples like it. It was really quite extreme. So far we I have graduated to some degree, but there is still a lot of free stuff out there, especially if you get into scavenging in going around looking for furniture other people are disposing of, etc. So the quest
and is more broadly speaking. Can you resell items you get for free, we'll talk about it today in this episode, support for this punk hast comes from progressive. What would you do with an extra eight hundred dollars by a plane ticket pay down? Your student loan treat yourself to those shoes you ve denying with progressive. For the inspiration. My question is
Can I resell something I receive for free. I worked at a trade show and to the booths. Next to me said they didn't need some of their display equipment. I asked if I could take it, They said sure, but I didn't tell them- I was going to try reselling it. Now I'm wondering if I have an ethical obligation to be clear about that. In buying items are taking free stuff like that at a trade show, Looking board here from you thanks Chris. Thank you. Some Roger and Good NEWS here in this situation I don't see anything at all wrong with reselling, not equipment the vendor. Well, we didn't have a use for it. The anything to you like. Ok, you can have it for personal use, but don't sell it. You know it's a free market people give away valuable stuff all the time if they don't want it again, it there's no restriction on it.
You can do what you want. I read an article about people who hang around certain well off neighborhoods or zip codes. Are they can drive around with a truck looking for furniture that people have left on the curb So, in my opinion out, if someone in throwing something away once they are done with it, there's nothing preventing you from claiming it for your reselling kingdom, the only exceptions would be if something is marked not for resale. For example, there is a fairly obvious that the original party wants to prevent this issue from coming as to whether they can or not. That's where that ethical dilemma comes in light from everything Roger says. In his answer, it sounds like that trade should give away, is fair game. Good luck, Roger and all the other resource out there. I am hearing you on.
