Spread in Washington d dot C, there are videos everywhere, theres violence and riot violence like appendicitis doesnt go away because you ignore it. It tends to get much worse, theres only one that stops it and thats good policing. One unlikely success story and a great one is the city of Detroit. Somehow Detroit has managed to keep a lid on violent protesters while allowing people their first amendment rights to demonstrate rioters. There have not looted or destroyed a single business in the city of Detroit, and the city, of course, is famous for its devastating riots of nineteen sixty seven, so, chief thanks, so much for coming on youve been coming on fairly regularly for the past couple of months and weve been watching Detroit, and Detroit has this reputation going back fifty years
its worth finding out why you know. I appreciate your question because I am just ecstatic over the men and women of the Detroit Police Department. One thing I learned from my time in LOS Angeles we dont retreat here in Detroit. We are just not going to do it. You saw them in the streets where there was lawlessness and looting and burning no sight of police officers. We werent giving up ground to the radicals. We just didnt do it. I saw what it was like after Rodney King, in LOS Angeles, but not only just that detroiters are fed up with the is a radical protests. Im not talking about peaceful protesters. Im talking about these misguided radicals that have tried to incite violence in our city, so that the great police department and great leadership-
and we said Enough- is enough: in the last two and a half weeks, weve had three officer involved, shootings and all three involved shootings and all three shootings, these violent offense and then a self proclaimed misinformed and misguided it. Leader of this radical fringe, had the audacity to change the narrative. I showed the video you may be aware. I put the video out and it clearly depicted the officers that were faced with an imminent threat to their life. This guide today, the same misinformed leader, is calling for my resignation. Detroit will have nothing of that. So when you talk about whats different here, we have a
city that has stood together and by the way I know theres a lot of conversation about the mayors and some of these big cities. Our mayor stands with the police chief and stands with the police department that we are not going to tolerate this uptick in violence, thats key thats, real key. This conversation just made my night chief Craig. Congratulations on my success.
